Abstract: The present invention relates to compositions comprising at least one fluoroolefin and an effective amount of stabilizer that may be at least one phenol or a mixture of at least one phenol with other stabilizers. The stabilized compositions may be useful in cooling apparatus, such as refrigeration, air-conditioning, chillers, and heat pumps, as well as in applications as foam blowing agents, solvents, aerosol propellants, fire extinguishants, and sterilants.

Abstract: Disclosed is a process for the preparation of emulsifiers E1 which are obtained by (a) reacting a polyol with propylene oxide or a mixture of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide, to give an intermediate Z1, (b) reacting the intermediate Z1 with epichlorohydrin, forming an intermediate Z2, (c) reacting the intermediate Z2 with an adduct of ethylene oxide or a mixture of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide, with a C1-C22 monoalcohol, provided that on average at least one epoxide function of the intermediate Z2 is reacted and on average at least one epoxide function originating from the intermediate Z2 is retained. Compounds E1 are suitable as emulsifiers for preparing aqueous emulsions or dispersions of epoxy resins.

Abstract: A stabilizer composition comprising a) an N-alkyl morpholine and b) a straight-chain or cyclic aliphatic amine containing no hetroatoms other than N with a boiling point of at least 150° C. The stabilizer composition is useful for stabilizing a halogenated hydrocarbon against degradation.
Abstract: The compound 1,1,2,2,3,3-hexafluorocyclopentane and mixtures thereof with alcohols, ethers, esters, ketones, nitromethane, and halogenated hydrocarbons are disclosed; as is a process for cleaning a solid surface which comprises treating the surface with said compound or said mixtures. Binary mixtures of 1,1,2,2,3,3-hexafluorocyclopentane either with about 27 to 35 weight percent methanol, or with about 21 to 29 weight percent ethanol are disclosed as azeotrope or azeotrope-like compositions and are particularly suited for use where solvent recovery and reuse is practiced.
Abstract: Metal pigments when combined with methylchloroform are stabilized by the addition of small amounts of aromatic diepoxides. Other known stabilizers against metals or the active of light and heat may be incorporated.

Abstract: The invention relates to compositions of chlorinated solvents such as 1,1,1-trichloroethane, stabilized by means of a heterocyclic compound containing oxaziridine units, such as 2-tert.-butyloxaziridine.
Abstract: A solvent composition comprising 1,1,1-trichloroethane and a stabilizing amount of an epoxide of formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, phenyl or benzyl,R.sub.3 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms,R.sub.4 is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atomsand n is 0 or 1.Preferably the or each alkyl group contains 1 or 2 carbon atoms; examples of useful epoxides are ethyl trans-2,3-epoxybutyrate, ethyl 3,4-epoxy-3-methylvalerate and ethyl beta-methyl-beta-phenylglycidate.

Abstract: A stabilized methylchloroform for use in vapor degreasing which is stable in the presence of metals which contains pyrazine, dimethoxypropane, an acetylenic alcohol and a nitroalkane or a methylfuran. Such combination prevents corrosion of aluminum, iron, copper and zinc and the decomposition of the solvent.
