Patent number: 6955705Abstract: Method and system for compressing and dehydrating wet natural gas produced from a low-pressure well using a rotary screw compressor. A dehydrating agent is combined with wet natural gas within a rotary screw compressor. Operation of the rotary screw compressor causes compression and dehydration of the wet natural gas to produce a compressed dry natural gas. Engine exhaust produced by the engine which powers the rotary screw compressor may be used to remove water absorbed by the dehydrating agent and thereby recover the dehydrating agent for re-circulation in the system.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 2004Date of Patent: October 18, 2005Assignee: RDC Research LLCInventors: Richard P. Patent number: 6398851Abstract: Exhaust gases from an internal combustion engine operating with leaded or unleaded gasoline or diesel or natural gas, are used for energizing a high-speed gas turbine. The convoluting gas discharge causes a first separation stage by stratifying of heavier and lighter exhaust gas components that exit from the turbine in opposite directions, the heavier components having a second stratifying separation in a vortex tube to separate combustible pollutants from non-combustible components. The non-combustible components exit a vortex tube open end to atmosphere. The lighter combustible, pollutants effected in the first separation are bubbled through a sodium hydroxide solution for dissolving the nitric oxide, formaldehyde impurities in this gas stream before being piped to the engine air intake for re-combustion, thereby reducing the engine's exhaust pollution and improving its fuel economy. The combustible, heavier pollutants from the second separation stage are piped to air filter assemblies.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 2000Date of Patent: June 4, 2002Inventor: Ranendra K. Bose

Patent number: 5136843Abstract: The apparatus for burning the contaminated soot particles in the exhaust gases of diesel motors of vehicles comprising in the exhaust gas line a housing with a burner operated with a fuel/air mixture for burning the contaminated particles in the exhaust gas flow. The housing comprises a rotatably supported hollow cylinder through which the exhaust gases flow. The housing and the hollow cylinder bound the combustion space of the burner, wherein the hollow cylinder comprises drive vanes and the exhaust gases of the diesel motor and/or the exhaust gases of the burner act upon the drive vanes and wherein the exhaust gases of the burner heat the hollow cylinder up to the combustion temperature of the soot particles. The arrangement can be also made in such a way, that the exhaust gases and/or the combustion gases of the burner flow through bores into the perforated hollow cylinder and exit through the one open end face of the perforated hollow cylinder.Type: GrantFiled: September 5, 1989Date of Patent: August 11, 1992Inventor: Gerhard Richter

Patent number: 5121602Abstract: A pollution control apparatus is shown for use on automobiles and trucks. This pollution control apparatus fits on the automotive exhaust pipe. A collector unit is secured between the exhaust pipe and tail pipe. The collector unit has a pair of blowers or bladed rotors which are impinged by a mixture of exhaust gases and water which causes the water droplets and dissolved and entrained materials to separate and drain through outlet drains. Water is injected into a U-shaped trap between exhaust pipe and the collector unit. Water from the bottom of the collector unit is pumped by a pump to a reservoir and entrained material is separated by a filter. Water from the filter drains by gravity through a radiator coil and thence to the reservoir from which it flows through vacuum valve to a U-shaped fitting. The water is injected into the exhaust gas stream to wash out entrained and soluble material. The mixture flows through blowers which cause the entrained and water-dissolved material to separate as described.Type: GrantFiled: December 26, 1990Date of Patent: June 16, 1992Inventor: Allan F.
