Patent number: 8696606Abstract: There is provided a continuous passive motion (CPM) machine with integrated mechanical deep vein thrombosis (DVT) prophylaxis for providing simultaneous CPM therapy and DVT prophylactic therapy to a human patient. The passive motion machine may include a base, at least one motor, one or more hinged frame rails, one or more support or suspension structures and a roller assembly. The hinged frame rails are driven to impart CPM to a patient's limb. The roller assembly can be a single roller, a multiple roller unit, or a belt and roller apparatus. A motor and connecting drive rotates the roller assembly. The roller assembly engages the patient's limb and the one or more rollers apply a mechanical DVT prophylaxis therapy to the limb, reducing the risk of blood clotting.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2009Date of Patent: April 15, 2014Assignee: Continuous Motionflow, LLCInventors: David Jacofsky, Jeffrey Lyman

Patent number: 8241232Abstract: A foot pain relief device can advantageously provide multiple angles of inclination, directed pressure against the plantar fascia, as well as ease of manufacturing and assembly. A toe strap, which is fastened around the ankle and the toe(s), ensures that the toes are flexed up. This toe flexing tenses the plantar fascia of the foot. A ball strap can be threaded through a hole in a ball and then operatively coupled with the toe strap. When operatively coupled to the toe strap, the ball strap keeps the ball positioned on the bottom of the foot while allowing ball mobility. The mobility of the ball can provide directed pressure on at least one component of the plantar fascia. Notably, the simultaneous combination of tension to the plantar fascia and directed pressure to the component(s) of the plantar fascia can be particularly effective at relieving foot pain.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 2009Date of Patent: August 14, 2012Inventor: Jeannie B. Patent number: 6659969Abstract: Exercise is performed and an exerciser device is designed so that they use a massage belt with at least two ends and a chain of ovals composed of ceramic, crystals, wood, plastic or ferromagnetic materials, while a user holds one end of the belt and applies a punching imitating movement, while the other end offers resistance each arm alternating creates resistance to the other arm's motion.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 2000Date of Patent: December 9, 2003Inventor: Mikhail Levitin

Patent number: 6026531Abstract: A massaging and scrubbing device comprising two elongated arms and a torso contacting device. The arms are fabricated from a water impervious material in a preformed configuration. The arms have a resiliency thereto that permits them to be flexed slightly during use and to return to their original shape when not in use. The arms releasably support the torso contacting device in a substantially immovable position when the device is in use. Therefore, the torso contacting device can be removed and cleaned or replaced as needed.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 1998Date of Patent: February 22, 2000Inventor: Lloyd Pruitt

Patent number: 5868689Abstract: A hand held massaging device comprised of a first and second handle, a cord perminantly fixed to the first handle and slidably fixed to the second handle. A resilient rubber ball having a hole axially through the center allowing the ball to be mounted on the cord between the two handles. Each handle and the ball have ball bearings where the cord passes through so that the ball can roll easily over the body part being massaged. A pair of snug fitting O rings hold the ball in place but the ball can be moved by rolling the O rings to a new position along the cord. A retaining ring assembly located on the cord just outside the slidable handle acts to retain the slidable handle in the desired position along the cord. In this way a user can space the handles and ball to the ideal location and can hold onto the handles and roll the massage ball over the desired body part in an easy way.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 1997Date of Patent: February 9, 1999Inventors: Sherri Faroky, Jim Allen

Patent number: 5676638Abstract: A massaging device constructed as a set of massaging elements comprising disc-shaped rollers rotatably mounted on the ends of a plurality of transversely-positioned axles spaced apart along the length of a strap and retained by the strap. The axles and rollers are designed so that the axles are flush-mounted with the outer face of the rollers, and the axles do not project beyond the rollers, eliminating any possibility of injuring the skin while massaging. The strap is designed to insure that the massaging elements do not become entangled, while preserving the stability and flexibility of the device. The ends of the strap are provided with wide handles, providing additional comfort during use. The inventive design provides an inexpensive, light, sturdy, safe and easy-to-use massaging device.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 1994Date of Patent: October 14, 1997Inventor: Amos Shefi
