  • Patent number: 12256923
Abstract: An endoluminal robotic system includes at least one robotic arm that operates tools to perform suturing procedures. The tools may include at least one of a suture needle driver tool, an endoscope, and a grasping tool. Methods performed by the endoluminal robotic system include driving a suture needle through anterior and posterior sides of a defect using the suture needle driving tool, the end portion of which is rotated after passing through tissue, to form a desired suture pattern. Then, the two ends of the suture thread are pulled and tied together to form a knot. Methods performed by the endoluminal robotic system also include overlaying a suture needle path on an image captured by the endoscope and controlling the at least one robotic arm to operate the driving tool and the suture needle driver tool based on the overlaid suture needle path.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods are disclosed for a surgical clamp for Lapidus bunion surgery. A surgical clamp has handles disposed at opposing branches of a surgical clamp. A hinge is disposed at an intersection of the opposing branches about which the opposing branches pivot. A first gripper is disposed at a distal portion of the first opposing branch and is shaped to hook around and grip a neck of a first metatarsal. A second gripper is disposed at a distal portion of the second opposing branch and is shaped to hook around and grip a neck of a different metatarsal. The grippers extend at a non-zero angle away from the opposing branches. A lock extends between the opposing branches and selectively fixes a relative position of the opposing branches so that the grippers selectively hold a position of the first metatarsal relative to the different metatarsal.

  • Patent number: 12053232
Abstract: A robotic surgical instrument comprising a shaft, an end effector, and an articulation connecting the end effector to a distal end of the shaft. The articulation comprises joints permitting the end effector to adopt a range of orientations relative to a longitudinal axis of the shaft. Pairs of driving elements drive the joints, the driving elements extending through the shaft to the joints. An additional element extends through the shaft to the end effector via the articulation. A resilient barrier inside the shaft extends over a cross-sectional area of the shaft, the pairs of driving elements and the additional element passing through the resilient barrier, the resilient barrier being in resilient contact with the additional element so as to provide a resilient force opposing movement of the additional element; wherein each driving element of the pairs of driving elements passes through a hole in the resilient barrier without contacting the resilient barrier.

  • Patent number: 11998195
Abstract: An articulation tool includes proximal and distal links, an elongated shaft therebetween, and first and second locks. Movement of the proximal link about proximal first and second axes causes corresponding movement of the distal link about distal first and second axes. The first and second locks have unlocked configurations in which the proximal and distal links are movable with respect to the elongated shaft about the first axes, or the second axes, respectively, and locked configurations in which the proximal and distal links are held in a fixed orientation with respect to the elongated shaft about the first axes, or the second axes, respectively. Rotation of the elongated shaft while the first and second locks are in the locked configuration and the proximal and distal links are angled with respect to the elongated shaft causes the proximal and distal links to rotate about respective longitudinal axes.

Abstract: An implant system and method of delivery includes a catheter system including a sling catheter having a plurality of distal openings and a delivery catheter, disposed within the sling catheter and having a distal port. Suture coupled anchors may be sequentially delivered by the delivery catheter to a cardiac treatment site by aligning the port of the delivery catheter with different openings of the sling catheter and pushing the anchor through the port and the sling catheter to embed the anchor into cardiac tissue such as tissue of a papillary muscle. Each anchor may have a linear configuration for translation within the delivery catheter and a biased configuration that inhibits its reentry into the sling catheter once deployed. Once all anchors are deployed, the suture may be tightened, the anchored portion of the sling catheter may be detached, and the catheter system withdrawn.
