Abstract: An insulated icemaking compartment is provided in the fresh food compartment of a bottom mount refrigerator. The icemaking compartment may be integrally formed with the liner of the fresh food compartment, or alternatively, may be modular for installation anywhere in the fresh food compartment. A removable bin assembly with a front cover normally seals the icemaking compartment to maintain the temperature in the compartment. A cold air duct formed in the rear wall of the refrigerator supplies cold air from the freezer compartment to the icemaking compartment. A return air duct directs a portion of the air from the icemaking compartment back to the freezer compartment. An air vent in the icemaking compartment directs another portion of air into the fresh food compartment. A control system provides for controlling refrigerator functions in a manner that promotes energy efficiency. The temperature of the ice compartment is between the temperatures of the fresh food and freezer compartments.

  • Patent number: 8683816
Abstract: A heat exchanger delivers a pressurized dry gas stream cooled to an essentially constant temperature. The gas stream circulates in a coil with a functional part immersed in a liquid fraction of a second gas in a chamber of a corresponding container, whereby a portion of the wall of the container with the chamber contacts a liquid fraction of a third gas, providing a condensation surface for the second gas. The container containing the second pressurized gas is airtight. The condensation surface is dimensioned to allow absorption of a predetermined caloric power by the gas in the chamber without significant variation of temperature/pressure. Included is a monitored variable heater of the bath of the liquid fraction of the residual gas in the container, whereby total caloric power released by the circulating gas to be cooled and by the heater is constantly kept approximately equal to the specified caloric power.

  • Patent number: 4300066
Abstract: A leakage measuring apparatus and method is herein provided for a gas-cooled, liquid-cooled dynamoelectric machine's cooling system. The apparatus comprises: a liquid coolant reservoir; an integrating vessel; a flow restriction means such as an orifice, orifice covered by a porous membrane, or a needle valve; a pressure relief valve which is hydraulically connected between the liquid coolant reservoir and the integrating vessel; and means for gaging the pressure within the integrating vessel, said pressure indicative of the amount of leakage within the cooling system. The effect obtained by the gaging of the pressure in the integrating vessel is: (1) the integration of the pressure surges resulting from the intermittent activation of the pressure relief valve; and (2) the amplification, for gaging purposes, of the pressure changes in the reservoir, these changes caused by the existence of leakage.
