With Indirect Fluid Pump Or Agitator Patents (Class 62/435)
  • Patent number: 4124994
Abstract: A beverage cooling bath includes a refrigeration evaporator immersed in water for growing ice thereon, there being a beverage cooling coil disposed elsewhere in such water. In order to turn the refrigeration system off when a sufficient amount of ice has built up on the evaporator, there is provided a control for doing so which includes a motor-driven impeller that directs a flow of water into a tube which divides, the one portion having an outlet through which such water normally flows along a freezing surface on the evaporator, and the other portion being a branch that leads to a sensing control which is responsive to an increase of water level or water pressure therein as a consequence of ice forming to block the other portion leading to the outlet.

  • Patent number: 4036621
Abstract: The evaporator coil of an ice bank type of beverage cooler and dispenser is provided with a multiplicity of spaced apart copper rods extending both inwardly and outwardly of the coil. The evaporator is operated in a tank of water to form a body of ice on the coil and a beverage conduit is cooled by the water. The water gives up its heat in melting the ice. The rods cause the body of ice to have separate and spaced projections of ice extending therefrom to present more surface to the water for more efficient cooling, particularly during peak loads.

  • Patent number: 4011736
Abstract: A cold storage tank is mounted in a pit in the ground. An outer plastic sheet barrier lines the pit. A lining of incompressible insulating material lines the interior surface of the outer barrier. An inner plastic sheet barrier lines the interior surfaces of the insulation. A plurality of bags of fresh water are mounted inside of the inner barrier. Brine and gravel fills the inner barrier and the voids between said fresh water bags and covers the fresh water bags. An out-take pipe extends into the brine and is connected to a pump. A shallow tray is mounted above ground and the out-take pipe is connected to spray the brine onto the tray during freezing weather. An intake pipe is connected to drain the tray and return the cooled brine to the interior of the inner barrier. The brine surrounding the water bags is circulated through a heat exchanger for cooling air when required.

  • Patent number: 3998070
Abstract: Syrup tanks in a beverage dispenser having a cold water bath are cooled by circulating water from the water bath through a coil disposed adjacent to the syrup tanks in heat exchange relationship therewith. In the preferred embodiment, the coil is located between adjacent rows of syrup tanks to maximize heat transfer.

  • Patent number: 3961925
Abstract: A portable, self-contained, refrigerated storage and transportation container for preserving perishable commodities includes an insulated storage chamber for the perishable commodities. A recirculating liquid cooling system is provided within the container and includes conduit and nozzle means disposed within the storage chamber adapted to spray a liquid coolant, such as chilled brine, directly onto the perishable commodities to maintain them at a uniform cool temperature. The sprayed liquid coolant is collected in the bottom portion of the storage chamber. A closed refrigeration system is also provided within the container and includes, in part, heat exchange means disposed within the bottom portion of the storage chamber for cooling the sprayed liquid coolant which has collected there.
