  • Patent number: 6082126
Abstract: In order to cool a room, a cooling element fitted in the ceiling region is cooled to below the freezing point, preferably to about -40.degree. C., during the cooling phases so that condensate forming thereon freezes immediately. During regeneration phases when the room is not in use, the cooling element is defrosted and the melted condensate is caught in a condensate tray beneath the cooling element and drained via a discharge. The great temperature difference between the room to be cooled and the cooling element also makes it possible to obtain a strong cooling effect with a small cooling element, especially by indirect radiation exchange between the room and the cooling element via an intermediate ceiling. In addition, the air in the room is dehumidified since water vapour is deposited on and bonded to the cooling element in the form of ice.

The lower chamber is divided into a heat exchanger chamber and a machine chamber by a second partition wall extending perpendicular to the bottom wall. A heat exchanger and a compressor are arranged in the heat exchanger chamber and machine chamber, respectively. Electric parts are arranged in the upper chamber and located above the heat exchanger chamber. A support rod is located in the heat exchanger chamber and fixed at one end to the first partition wall and at the other end to the bottom wall. A blower is attached to the support rod and faces the heat exchanger.

  • Patent number: 4555915
Abstract: According to the invention, a compressible, resilient baffle member is provided and held captive compressibly against a partition wall in a refrigeration apparatus machinery compartment by a resilient retainer clip. The retainer clip straddles the baffle member surface and has legs which terminate in offset free ends which extend into a specially configured aperture in the partition wall. The baffle member biases the offset ends of the clip legs into contact with the surface of the wall opposite to the baffle mounting surface. When the baffle is rotatably displaced the one clip leg slides into the aperture and the opposite leg rotates about an edge of the aperture. The resilience of the baffle member and clip restore the baffle to the original position.
