Sheet Rolling Means Patents (Class 65/148)
  • Patent number: 10730792
Abstract: A glass ribbon in the form of a glass roll is provided that is optimized with respect to the requirements of a long service life and at the same time compact dimensions. A bending radius on the inner side of the thin glass roll is determined by performing breakage tests on samples of the glass material, statistical parameters are determined on the basis of the breakage tests, and the statistical parameters are converted into a range of bending radii which meet the requirements on service life and the most compact dimensions possible of the thin glass roll.

  • Patent number: 10483210
Abstract: An electronic device assembly includes a backplane having a glass composition substantially free of alkali ions, an elastic modulus of about 40 GPa to about 100 GPa, and a final thickness from about 20 ?m to about 100 ?m. The primary surfaces of the backplane are characterized by a prior material removal to the final thickness from an initial thickness that is at least 20 ?m greater than the final thickness. The assembly also includes a protect layer on the first primary surface of the backplane; and a plurality of electronic components on the second primary surface of the backplane. In addition, the backplane is configured with at least one static bend having a bend radius between about 25 mm and about 5 mm. The electronic components of the electronic device assembly can include at least one thin film transistor (TFT) element or organic light emitting diode (OLED) element.

  • Patent number: 7849712
Abstract: A phase change memory cell may be read by driving a current through the cell higher than its threshold current. A voltage derived from the selected column may be utilized to read a selected bit of a phase change memory. The read window or margin may be improved in some embodiments. A refresh cycle may be included at periodic intervals.

  • Patent number: 6092392
Abstract: This invention relates to a continuous process for producing a web of thin, chemically hardened glass that can be wound on a roll. The process comprises the steps of (i) drawing glass, containing original alkali ions, to form a web of glass having a thickness equal to or lower than 1.2 mm and having a first and second major surface; (ii) directly after or during said drawing, treating both said surfaces of said web with chemical hardening means during less than two hours, replacing said original alkali ions by alkali ions having a larger radius; and (iii) after treating both said surfaces, winding said web on a core.

  • Patent number: 5028202
Abstract: A glass plates positioning device for positioning overlapped larger and smaller glass plates on a belt conveyer is disclosed, which includes a light device and pushing portions. The lift device lifts up the glass plates from the belt conveyer and lowers the same onto the belt conveyer. In a lifted position, the glass plates are horizontally universally movably supported by the lift device and positioned by the pushing portions. Each pushing portion is shaped like a spinning top, which includes concentrically connected smaller and larger disc portions. Each pushing portion horizontally abuts against and pushes each side edge of the glass plates to a predetermined position, wherein side surface of the larger disc is in contact with the edge of the smaller glass plate and the side surface of the smaller disc is in contact with the edge of the larger glass plate. After the positioning of the glass plates, the glass plates are lowered onto the belt conveyer by the lift device.

  • Patent number: 3953186
Abstract: The industrial process hereinafter described begins with molten glass in which is imbedded a mesh for shatter-resistance, and is then extruded, cooled, and scribed in the size and shape of an injector-style razor blade. The scribed extrusion is inspected for quality control, after which is is broken along the scribed lines. The resulting glass razor blades are again inspected for quality control, after which they are packaged in whatever manner the manufacturer desires.
