Abstract: A knitting structure model is generated from knitting structure data represented by specific symbols so that an individual can easily imagine what type of knit fabric will be knitted. A knitting structure data acquiring portion (11) acquires knitting structure data made up of symbols (T) representing a tuck, (W) representing a welt, and (K) representing a knit. Anode aligning portion (12) aligns nodes representing connecting points of yarns forming the knit fabric within the (XY) plane in a lattice form. A simplified model generating portion (13) generates a simplified knitting structure model by connecting the nodes aligned within the XY plane with edges corresponding to the yarns according to the knitting structure data. A display portion (40) displays the simplified knitting structure model thereon.

Abstract: A tubular knitted fabric is broadened while fully preventing generation of open gap. Yarn is hooked on a needle of a second needle bed and twisted to form a loop, and this loop is transferred onto a first needle bed to become a broadening loop. A subsequent stitch is formed on the broadening loop and transferred back to the second needle bed. Yarn is hooked again on a needle of the second needle bed and twisted to form a loop, and this loop is transferred to the first needle bed to become a broadening loop.
Abstract: A method of displaying a stitching image particularly for a plating stitch. A screen of a display unit displays a stitch structure including a type of thread for each stitch of a knit fabric. The display area of each stitch is divided into a ground yarn display area and a plating yarn display area based on the type of stitch. The ground yarn is allocated to one of the divided areas while the plating yarn is allocated to the other of the divided areas.
Abstract: A needle selector device for a multi yarn feed knitting machine comprises a stack of angularly movable sliders mounted about a common axis, the sliders being selectively movable between three positions, namely the knitting, tucking and floating positions. The sliders define cams which depending on the selected position of the slider can engage steering butts on a pivotable pattern bar connected through a swivel bar to a knitting needle.
Abstract: In flat-bed knitting machines and the like, where a plurality of machine levers are used to determine the type of stitch and pattern of the fabric being produced, the positioning of these levers is determined by solenoid-operated elements providing programmable stops for the machine levers. The knitting pattern is determined by the particular solenoids which are energized, which in turn is controlled by a program contained in an integrated circuit memory such as a PROM (programmable read only memory). The program and hence the pattern can be instantly changed by re-programming the PROM or by plugging in a different PROM.
