Independent-needle Machines Patents (Class 66/7)
  • Publication number: 20080141728
Abstract: A yarn debris removing apparatus for circular discoloration knitting machines provides compressed air through an air compressor. The compressed air is delivered to a negative pressure generator through a rotary connector that controls the flow direction of the compressed air so that a negative pressure suction nozzle forms a negative pressure to generate a suction force to suck yarn debris cut off on a circular discoloration knitting machine. The negative pressure generator is connected to a dust collection net on another end through a hose to collect and filter out the yarn debris to reproduce clean air. Through the rotary connector the dust collection net and the negative pressure generator can be rotated with the circular discoloration knitting machine. The suction nozzle of the negative pressure generator is directed towards the needles of the circular discoloration knitting machine where change of yarns takes place to suck the yarn debris.

  • Publication number: 20040050116
Abstract: An apparatus is described for needling at least one yarn (16) with at least one needle board (4) which is reciprocatable in the needling direction, with a stitch base (1) which is disposed opposite of the needle board (4) and is made of an endlessly revolving brush belt (3), and with a stripper (5) which is disposed between the stitch base (1) and the needle board and which forms at least one guide duct (9) for the yarn (16) extending in the revolving direction (10) of the brush belt (3) and comprises in the region of said guide duct (9) pass-through openings (20) for the needles (8) of the needle board (4). In order to provide advantageous needling conditions it is proposed that the guide duct (9) is provided between guide walls (15) engaging in the brush belt (3), which guide walls delimit a duct cross section which tapers towards the yarn (16) in the region of the brush engagement.

  • Patent number: 6244076
Abstract: An optical position monitor for determining the position of a latch needle (104) in a knitting machine is provided that comprises: at least one fiducial (102) at a known fixed cation on the body of the latch needle; a fiducial imager that produces at least one optical image (262) of the at least one fiducial on at least one light sensitive surface (260) wherein the at least one optical image changes with changes in position of said at least one fiducial; and a controller that receives at least one signal responsive to the changes in the at least one image and uses the at least one signal to determine the position of the at least one fiducial (102) and thereby of the latch needle (104).

  • Patent number: 4571955
Abstract: Inserted is each slit of the needle bed of this machine is a needle underneath which is placed a blade element that is provided with three butts, namely a first butt at the top, a second butt below, and a third butt at the bottom. The said third and last butt is carried by a tailpiece able to oscillate or undergo flexure, in contrast with elastic means, inside the corresponding slit. The selection of a blade element is defined by the operation of a selector element, integral with the carriage, whereby the first butt is intercepted causing the blade element to be raised from the neutral position.Through action exerted on the third butt by an operating cam, the blade element is raised further in cases when the selection operation is fully satisfactory; should this not be the case, as also when the blade element is in the neutral position, the cam acts as a guide for the said third butt in order to reach, or maintain, the said neutral position.
