Abstract: A mixing system and mixing method are provided. The mixing system includes a tank assembly, a container positioned within the tank assembly, a mixer disposed within a compartment of the container, a linear motor, and a shaft having a first end secured to the mixer and an opposing second end secured to the linear motor. The linear motor provides a variable stroke length for the shaft. The mixing method includes providing a tank assembly having a linear motor, positioning a mixing assembly including a mixing bag in the tank assembly, combining two or more components in a compartment of the mixing bag, attaching a mixing shaft extending from a mixer disposed within the mixing bag to the linear motor, and raising and lowering the mixing shaft to mix the two or more components. A stroke length of the mixing shaft during the raising and lowering is varied.
Abstract: A manually operated washing device suitable for delicate textiles or for small amounts of laundry, which device both makes it possible to avoid direct contact with water and detergents, and minimises the amount of water and detergents necessary for obtaining a good result.
Abstract: A combined laundry washing/drying machine wherein the washing and drying means are mounted within a pivoting subassembly. In the washing mode the laundry is washed within a basket oriented vertically. In the drying mode, the pivoting subassembly is moved so that the laundry is tumbled in the basket as it spins on a horizontal axis. The washing mode further employs a perforated washing plate which moves in a reciprocating vertical motion to provide the cleaning action.
Abstract: A flow-intensifier for use in an upright automatic clothes washing machine includes a weight disposed intermediate the washer agitator and the washer drum, non-extendible elongate connectors operatively connected at one end to the agitator for movement therewith and at the other end to the weight for movement therewith, and a redirecting guide traversed by the connector and operatively connected to the drum for movement therewith so that reciprocal relative rotation of the agitator and the drum causes a corresponding reciprocal vertical movement of the weight.
Abstract: In a clothes washer of the type which has an array of tuckers and which is reciprocated vertically toward and away from the bottom of a container of washing liquid, a diaphragm is mounted to have an extended orientation during downward stroke for displacing liquid, and a relatively collapsed orientation during upward stroke, and a volume-outlining, clothes-restraining open uper structure provided over the diaphgram, this open structure extending upwardly from the diaphragm so that at least a part of it extends above the normal liquid level when the washer is in its lowest position. In action, as the diaphragm displaces liquid downwardly, the open structure, in following behind the diaphragm, restrains articles of clothes from moving inwardly over the diaphragm but allows liquid to move inwardly through the clothes and through the open structure to fill in behind the diaphragm.

Abstract: A laundering device for use in cleaning articles of clothing composed of a plurality of components adapted to be disassembled when not in use and stored in a container, the device is composed of a frame with downwardly extending removable support legs and a reciprocal shaft including either a motor drive or hand drive for reciprocating the shaft so that when the lower end, which extends between the legs is reciprocated within a flexible pliable bag of soapy water impervious material, a plunger attached to the shaft agitates the water so that the articles of clothing may be laundered.
Abstract: The specification discloses an improved washing machine having an outer wash tub adapted to be filled with water to a desired predetermined level. An inner perforated washtub is mounted in a concentrically spaced relationship to said outer wash tub and is adapted to receive the clothes to be washed. A compressor unit is adapted to reciprocate from the top to the bottom of said wash tub to briefly agitate the clothes and then to squeeze the water from them from the inside out.
