Patent number: 12031259Abstract: A washing machine includes a drum for receiving laundry which washing machine not only prevents the laundry from becoming entangled in a complicated manner when the drum is rotated, but also beat-washes the laundry sufficiently. The washing machine includes a partition plate that is fixed to the inner circumferential surface of the drum and that divides the internal space of the drum into two washing compartments. The drum receives two washes in the respective washing compartments, and is rotated while reversing its rotation direction repeatedly. The partition plate and drum are rotated counterclockwise to an angle within a predetermined range and clockwise to an angle within a predetermined range. This allows the washing machine to repeat an operation of causing one of the two washes to slip down from a high position to be beat-washed and the other wash to be immersed in cleaning fluid for stain decomposition.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 2020Date of Patent: July 9, 2024Assignee: YUGEN KAISHA HIKARI DRYInventor: Mutsuhito Yoshikawa

Patent number: 4391108Abstract: A drum for a continuously operating laundry processing machine is constructed from a number of individual elements. Each element consists of an upper and a lower portion having a surface of helical shape which defines part of the drum shell, and a surface of right helicoidal shape which defines part of a right helicoidal conveying screw which divides the drum into individual chambers. The parts forming the drum are connected by externally welded seams.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 1980Date of Patent: July 5, 1983Assignee: Passat-Maschinenbau GmbHInventor: Richard R. Albers

Patent number: 4210004Abstract: A batch washing machine comprises an imperforate drum open at both ends and mounted for rotation about a substantially horizontal axis. A conveyor worm having an imperforate helical surface is rigidly mounted in the interior of the drum to divide same into a plurality of individual chambers. Washing media is fed to the chambers by means of a pipe disposed on a central axis of the drum, the pipe being sub-divided into individual pipe portions by the helical surface of the conveyor worm, with each pipe portion including at least one outlet aperture communicating with a respective one of the chambers. At least one emptying aperture is provided in the drum for each chamber and through which washing media can be discharged from the chamber. During washing, each chamber is separated from the other chambers, so that the machine can wash different types of washing at the same time.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 1978Date of Patent: July 1, 1980Assignee: Vosswerke GmbHInventors: Karl-Heinz A. Stoll, Heinz Miessler

Patent number: 4034583Abstract: A washing machine comprises a rotatable washing drum divided by an internal screw conveyor into a number of separate washing and rinsing zones. A chamber mounted on the external surface of the drum in the area of the principal washing zone communicates with the principal washing zone and contains a partition which defines a liquid-containing pocket. This pocket is at least partially filled with liquid throughout rotation of the drum and contains a heating device which acts to heat the liquid.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 1976Date of Patent: July 12, 1977Assignee: Firma Vosswerk GmbHInventor: Heinz Miessler

Patent number: 3995458Abstract: The invention relates to a laundry machine comprising a washing drum which is rotatable about its longitudinal axis; the generated surface of the drum being formed with apertures through which washing liquid can flow. The drum is supported, preferably by an endless retaining element, such that an outer surface of the drum is spaced apart from an inner surface portion of a casing. At least one partition extends substantially radially inside the drum thereby dividing the drum into discrete segments. The partition has an aperture and conveyor means are disposed inside the drum for conveying laundry from one segment of the drum to an adjacent segment thereof via the aperture. A flange extends substantially radially outwardly from the drum, and from between each pair of adjacent segments thereof, thereby dividing the gap between the drum and the casing into pockets or chambers, means being provided for obtaining a fluid-tight seal between each flange and the casing.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 1975Date of Patent: December 7, 1976Assignee: Engelhardt & ForsterInventors: Heinz Grunewald, Jurgen Wellbrock
