Roll And Roll Patents (Class 68/99)
  • Patent number: 8709351
Abstract: A continuous feed discharge surface treater for treating web materials has a discharge chamber where ionization of a process gas occurs defined and contained by one or more rollers. Enhanced chemical coronas and plasmas are achieved by limiting depletion of the gas chemistry from the discharge chamber and dilution or contamination from mixing with drawn in ambient air. Atmospheric coronas can also be achieved in which minimal or no ozone is exhausted from the treater. Various roller and electrode assemblies, including both fixed and rolling electrodes, can be employed.

  • Patent number: 7461525
Abstract: A tile sponge washing and conditioning apparatus is disclosed for washing in water a sponge used during a ceramic tile grouting operation. The apparatus includes a frame for disposition thereof within the water. The frame includes a first wall and a second wall which is disposed spaced from the first wall. A first roller has an axis of rotation which extends through the walls and a second roller has a rotational axis which also extends through the walls. The rollers cooperate with each other to define therebetween a pathway for the passage therethrough of the sponge to be washed and conditioned. The arrangement is such that when the rollers are counter rotated relative to each other, the sponge is squeezed and driven through the passageway so that the sponge is washed and conditioned by the water during passage of the sponge through the passageway.

  • Patent number: 7441497
Abstract: A wringing device is used to expel fluids from a flexible container contained within an intermediate bulk container (IBC). The wringing device includes a support frame and a carriage movably coupled to the support frame for supporting components thereof. The wringing device includes a nip shaft coupled to the carriage, and a movable nip shaft movably coupled to the carriage proximate to the nip shaft. The movable nip shaft may be biased toward the nip shaft with a biasing device. The wringing device may include one or more drive devices for driving a take-up shaft and the carriage. The wringing device may also include a transport vehicle for transporting the wringing device between different intermediate bulk containers.

  • Patent number: 5570598
Abstract: A portable washing machine designed to fit onto conventional sized pots that can be found in any kitchen. The portable washing machine has a motor attached to an agitator which can be detachable from the motor and hand operated rollers for removing excess water from clothes and a smooth, uneven surface for scrubbing clothes at the bottom of which is a drain hole which allows excess water to return to the pot.

  • Patent number: 4889049
Abstract: An improved wringer device is provided for squeezing water from a cloth or chamois when fed between a pair of adjacent rollers. Each roller is made from thermoformed plastic, or molded elastomeric material with an outer surface defining a plurality of axially aligned curvilinear hill and valley surfaces. The hill surface of one roller meshes with a valley surface of the adjacent roller to assist in feeding the cloth through the rollers and to maximize efficiency by minimizing required cranking force. The device includes a first support member for mounting to a wall, a second roller support member selectably connected to the first member, and a third roller support member fixedly secured to the second member, a pair of rollers with substantially parallel axes and each supported between the second and third support members, and a crank interconnected with one of the rollers to drive that roller, which then drives the other roller.

  • Patent number: 4451263
Abstract: The very economical padding methods for applying liquid treatment agents and which have largely become established for flat-lying material are also interesting for dyeing and finishing tubular textile material. In the latter case, the use of this technique is however opposed by the finding that on impregnating circular-knitted goods on a pad mangle the squeeze edges are marked on both sides of the tube, which gives rise, for example, to undesirable color differences. According to the invention, this adverse phenomenon and the problems arising therefrom can be avoided if, through maintaining a relatively high liquor pick-up by the textile material and through mechanical shifting of the edges, the liquor is enabled to level out any unevenness produced on squeezing.

  • Patent number: 4226598
Abstract: A method and apparatus for wet treatment, especially treating with lye solution and mercerizing, of knitted tubular goods. According to the method, the tube is passed through the space between adjacent rollers. A longitudinal movement is imparted to one of the two respectively straight portions of the cross section of the tube, while a transverse movement is imparted to the other straight section. The apparatus for carrying out this method is a foulard having driven rollers, at least some of which are constantly movable in an axial direction, which is transverse to the longitudinal movement of the tube, successive axially movable rollers having a progressively delayed axial movement.
