  • Patent number: 8935943
Abstract: A securement device is provided to secure a portable item from unauthorized movement or theft. A first bracket engages a first portion of the item, second bracket engages a second portion of the item, and an elongated member spans the portable item to attach the first bracket to the second bracket to prevent significant separation of the first and second brackets when in the secured configuration. An aperture or recess in the second bracket receives a plug or attached device, where the plug or attached device is plugged into a receptacle in the item. When the attached device or plug is situated within the aperture or recess in the first bracket and the first bracket is engaged to the item, the first bracket is prevented from lateral and rotational movement relative to the item. A lock may be attached to the securement device to secure the item to an anchor.

  • Patent number: 8893534
Abstract: A yard hydrant locking collar has two C-shaped steel hardened plates connected together at one end by a rivet. The rivet acts like a hinge and allows the top and bottom plates to swivel open and closed. The other end of each top and bottom plates has a locking hole. A one inch tapered slot is cut into the top plate near the locking hole. The top and bottom plates are rotated so the collar fits around the hydrant pipe. The locking holes and slot are positioned near the hydrant locking hole and the collar locking holes are aligned. A padlock is opened and tilted away from the pipe and the free arm of the padlock is placed through the locking hole of the hydrant handle and positioned over the locking holes of the collar. The padlock is then tilted back towards the pipe. The tapered slot allows the padlock to move towards the pipe so that the free end of the padlock can move through the locking holes. Once the free end of the padlock passes through the collar locking holes, the padlock can be raised and locked.

  • Patent number: 8746020
Abstract: A locking cable device, which generally inhibits the theft of portable and more specifically inhibits the theft of expensive, electronic devices such as computers, laptops, and projectors. The security device works by use of a hook that hooks through an opening in an outside wall of the equipment to be secured. The hole can be an existing hole in the outside wall of the equipment, either round, square, or rectangular, such as a vent slot or security slot. A user may also add the opening by merely drilling an aperture or slot, sized appropriately for the corresponding hook on the security device. The hooked position is maintained by use of a housing locked on to the cable, close enough to the equipment being secured that the hook cannot be moved to an angle necessary for removal.

Abstract: A lock includes a lock body, a lock bar, and a locking mechanism. The lock body extends in a longitudinal direction between a first end defining a longitudinal passage and a second end. The lock bar is disposed within the passage and movable in a longitudinal direction between a securing position proximal to the second end and a release position distal to the second end, with a proximal end portion of the lock bar and the second end defining a first gap when the lock bar is in the release position. The locking mechanism is assembled within one of the lock body and the lock bar and is operable between a locking condition securing the lock bar against movement from the securing position to the release position, and an unlocked condition permitting movement of the lock bar from the securing position to the release position.

  • Patent number: 8695384
Abstract: A lock structure for an electrical device is provided. The lock structure includes a rotatable fastener, a lock body, an operation device, and a housing. The lock body is disposed at least partially in the housing, connected with the operation device, and includes or couples with a driving portion. When the lock body is operated to achieve an unlocked state, the lock body allows the driving portion to move the rotatable fastener. At the same time, the operation device achieves an operable status in which the operation device can move driving portion to change the orientation of the rotatable fastener, resulting in the connection/detachment of the lock structure and the electronic device. When the lock body is in a locked state, the movement of the driving portion is restricted and the operation device is not operable to directly or indirectly rotate the rotatable fastener, resulting in the secure connection of the lock structure and the electronic device.
