Rotary Shaft Patents (Class 70/182)
  • Patent number: 11473678
Abstract: An electronic parking pawl actuator which uses a smaller motor and higher gear ratio has the ability to configure a rooster comb to engage with various park detents, and reduces the mechanical and software design complexity. Furthermore, the electronic park actuator limits the amount of back drivable range (unable to perform an external park to neutral shift) for theft deterrence, and also allows operation (speed performance) and a lower motor peak current. The electronic parking pawl actuator includes an electric motor, a drive gear, the drive gear operable for being driven by the electric motor, and a drive mechanism, the drive mechanism is operable for being driven by the drive gear. The drive mechanism is engaged with an output shaft of a gear selector of a transmission, and the drive mechanism is rotatable relative to the drive gear, allowing the output shaft to be located in a desired position.

  • Patent number: 6779371
Abstract: The aim of the invention is to provide a steering column lock with improved break-up safety. To this end, a spring-loaded locking pin (30) is integrated into the peripheral cam (12), said locking pin being co-rotated when a rotor (10) pertaining to the steering column lock is rotated. In the test position (30.1) of the locking pin (30), the pin is aligned with a locking recess (38) in the housing (1) while in a working position of the motor (10) that is obtained by access authorization means, it is not. Normally, the locking pin (30) is inactive since it is maintained in a retracted position by a spring-loaded (47) feeler (40). When the rotor (10) is missing, the feeler (40), due to its spring load (27), releases the locking pin (30). If in this case the rotor (10) is in the rest position, the locking pin (30) engages in the locking recess (38) of the housing (11) and blocks rotation.

Abstract: A aircraft anti-theft device for immobilizing the yoke of an aircraft. The aircraft anti-theft device includes a device for immobilizing the yoke control of an aircraft. The yoke control has a gust lock hole for holding the yoke in a stationary position. The device has a sleeve for wrapping about the yoke control. The sleeve has an interior channel for receiving a portion of the yoke control. The sleeve is divided along its longitudinal axis to form a first and second sections. The first and second sections each have a pair of end edges, a first side edge, and a second side edge. A lock locks the first and second sections in a closed position. A pin for insertion into the gust lock is fixedly coupled to an interior surface of the first section of the sleeve. The pin protrudes from the interior surface of the sleeve. The first and second sections are placed around the yoke control such that the pin enters the gust lock.

Abstract: A steering shaft lock for heavy-duty trucks having a steering shaft and accessible universal joint. The steering shaft lock has an elongated member and a flexible member attached to one end of the elongated member. The elongated member is steel bar-like member and the flexible member is a link-chain type member having one or more apertures or links. The elongated member is adapted to engage a spaced defined in the universal joint and protrude therefrom. The flexible member is adapted to lockingly engage the outer perimeter of the elongated member (at the point of its protrusion) with a locking device, such as a padlock. The steering shaft is locked by moving the flexible member toward the protrusion of the elongated member and placing the shackle of a locking device through one aperture of the flexible member and over the outer perimeter of the elongated member.
