  • Patent number: 7584677
Abstract: A kit is described that modifies a standard screw jack for a trailer hitch, by introducing a safety lock mechanism. The modified screw jack will be inoperative until the safety lock mechanism is opened. In the inoperative position, the screw jack cannot be turned to lift or lower the trailer hitch. The crank for turning the screw jack will be freewheeling or frozen. Turning a key in a lock keyway will release the safety lock mechanism, thus putting the crank into rotational engagement with the screw jack.

Abstract: An electronic lock includes a mechanism comprising a drive assembly comprising a pinion, a gearwheel including a peripheral flange having openings with a curved edge; a clutch comprising a ring including risers in the openings to engage with the curved edges, a first sleeve in the ring and including a rear projection, a driven member including a groove disengaged from the corresponding projection when the lock is locked, and a first spindle, and a spring put on the first sleeve and urged against the driven member; a second sleeve securely urged against the first sleeve; and a second spindle securely passing the second sleeve into the first sleeve. Turning the pinion will turn the gearwheel, push the risers rearward by sliding along the curved edges, move the ring rearward to fit the projection into the groove, and compress the spring such that turning an outer handle will unlock the lock.

  • Patent number: 7377140
Abstract: A lock includes a body, a wheel, an outside spindle, and a locking plug. The outside spindle includes a front end having an extension not in contact with a circumferential wall defining a through-hole of the wheel. When the locking plug is in an unblocking position allowing retraction operation of a latch bolt, the front end of the outside spindle is engaged with the wheel to allow joint rotation of the outside spindle and the wheel. When the locking plug is moved from the unblocking position to the blocking position not allowing retraction operation of the latch bolt, movement of a push member pushes the front end of the outside spindle away from the through-hole of the wheel such that the front end of the outside spindle is disengaged from the circumferential wall of the through-hole of the wheel, thereby disengaging the outside spindle from the wheel.

  • Patent number: 7243514
Abstract: A method and device helps to prevent theft of sonar devices and GPS units from the brackets they are normally installed on or mounted to. The present invention provides for a unique locking device having a threaded end. The locking device is capable of alternatively permitting and prohibiting rotation of the threaded end. When a key is turned to lock the device, the handle of the device is permitted to rotate freely and the device does not permit rotation and removal of the threaded end. The device also provides for a hardened spacer that directly abuts the handle such that it prevents a thief from getting access to, and thus cutting the threaded end of the locking device.
