  • Patent number: 8596103
Abstract: A permutation lock includes a plurality of adjustment rings which are rotatable about a common axis to set a secret code and includes a locking mechanism which has a blocking element. The blocking element can be displaced in the axial direction with respect to the axis of rotation of the adjustment rings from a blocking position into a release position. The adjustment rings are rotationally operationally coupled to axially movable driver elements. The driver elements have axial elevated portions, wherein the driver elements cooperate via the elevated portions in the axial direction such that the blocking element is only displaced axially in the release position by means of the driver elements in that the secret code is set at the adjustment rings.

  • Patent number: 7434430
Abstract: The present invention provides a dial for a combination lock, which mainly includes a toothed wheel additionally configured on a side of conventional type dial provided with an internally mounted notched wheel. A plurality of external teeth are circum-located on an outer edge of the toothed wheel, and a center of another notched wheel is provided with a rotating shaft, lateral to which is provided with a notch. A plurality of teeth spacings circum-located on an outer edge of the notched wheel mutually engage with external teeth of the notched wheel of the dial. Accordingly, the dial is able to simultaneously actuate and rotate two notched wheels, thereby improving innovative effectiveness of the combination lock.

  • Patent number: 6799446
Abstract: A combination lock includes a female member, a lock rod inserted in the female member; the female member is inserted through single dial, several actuating rings, and co-moving rings; the dial and the actuating rings are arranged side by side, and releaseably engaged with respective co-moving rings; the dial and an actuating ring adjacent thereto have a projecting portion on opposing sides while every two adjacent actuating rings have a projecting portion on opposing sides such that the co-moving rings can be turned to unlocking position where all gaps thereof oppose a trench of the female member to form a passage for the lock rod by operating the dial; orientations of the dial and the actuating rings relative to respective co-moving rings are changed for changing the unlocking combination by operating the dial after the dial and the actuating rings are disengaged from the co-moving rings.

  • Patent number: 6386005
Abstract: A combination lock has a plug with a tube extending from the plug. Multiple combination ring assemblies are disposed around the tube, and each of the combination ring assemblies include a combination ring, a positioning ring, and an abutting ring. A bar is inserted with an end inside the tube and an opposed end mounted with a nut extending outside the tube. A cap having a chamber inside is received in a cover, and the nut is received in the chamber. When changing a combination number of the combination lock, a tool is used to turn the cap to separate the combination ring and the positioning ring thus allows the combination number to be changed, and when the changing is completed, the cap is turned to a original position and the combination ring and the positioning ring engages together automatically.

  • Patent number: 4534195
Abstract: The present invention relates to a lock having a key provided with variable key information elements which are adapted to be scanned during rotation of the key around an axis of the lock. The key preferably includes ten (10) cam plates fixedly joined together in pairs for rotation and mounted in pairs on coaxial hollow shafts. Each shaft is driven by a handwheel in an angularly variable manner. Each cam plate has five (5) different radial steps, so that each pair of cam plates correspondingly has twenty-five (25) different possible combinations of angular positions, each of which can be identified by a letter of the alphabet on the respective handwheel. The key combination is legible through a display window. The lock and its key which are of a relatively simple design, allow the key combination to be easily set and readily recalled.

  • Patent number: 4418555
Abstract: A cylindrical type lock has a rotatable cylinder within a lock body wherein the cylinder has a stacked array of a plurality of nested and alternating tumbler wheels and spacer discs mounted in a subassembly with the cylinder to the lock body, the spacer discs are held stationary by tab projections which extend radially outwardly into a longitudinal groove in the cylinder into which they slip fit on assembly along with the tumbler wheels in stacked array into the cylinder, the wheels and discs being formed with identical annular projections on one side and mating annular recesses on opposite sides so that the wheels and discs nest in interfitting relation in the stacked array within the cylinder to be operated by an associated key which has a plurality of spaced segmented disc-like coded webs and blank webs which are adapted to align with the tumbler wheels and spacer discs respectively when the key is inserted into the lock and rotated.

  • Patent number: 3952562
Abstract: A permutation lock assembly incorporated into a door knob and latch mechanism mountable in the standard openings in conventional swinging doors, using conventional door latch hardware. Rotation of an outer dial in a first direction causes rotation of an inner dial which is visible through a window until a number on the inner dial appears at the center of the window. Upon rotation of the outer dial in an opposite direction until a number thereon is aligned with a center mark, the door is unlocked and may be readily opened. When the proper combination is known, the combination may be changed, within a few seconds, from one combination to another. Also incorporated is a clutch device in the external knob that permits the knob to turn in either direction when the door is locked and excessive force is applied, thus preventing damage to the assembly.
