Patent number: 5211040Abstract: A combination lock includes a housing, amount upon which is mounted first and second slide members, and a spring plate. The first slide member carries a stop stud that engages a closing lug as the first member shifts under spring bias in a plane from an open to a closed position. The second slide member is coupled with the first member and shifts in a plane substantially parallel with that of the first member. Additionally, the second member contains recesses capable of accommodating a tumbler disc that enables shiftable motion of the second member only when a cam on the tumbler is aligned with grooves in the mount. The tumbler disc connects with toothed structure on a combination setting wheel, and the spring plate contains respective fingers for biasing the setting wheel against the tumbler and for engaging catch recesses on the setting wheel. The spring plate further contains a finger for biasing the locking lug for ejection from the housing.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 1992Date of Patent: May 18, 1993Assignee: Amiet AGInventor: Urs Gisiger

Patent number: 5193368Abstract: A combination lock of strap buckle includes a female lock body secured on a first end portion of a strap or belt; a male buckle secured on a second end portion of the strap engageable with the female lock body for fastening the two end portions of the strap; and a plurality of sleeves coupled with a plurality of dials, having a plurality of numerals annularly formed on each dial, rotatably mounted in the female lock body for operatively locking the male buckle in the female lock body, whereby upon a rotation of the dials from a locking combination to an unlocking combination, the male buckle will be unbuckled from the female lock body for an unlocking operation, thereby providing a combination lock for the strap buckle by omitting a key and a key-actuated safety lock for increasing locking or unlocking convenience of the strap buckle.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 1992Date of Patent: March 16, 1993Inventor: Chong-Kuan Ling

Patent number: 5027623Abstract: A combination lock includes a lock body, having a hollow spindle laterally protruding outwardly, a locking bolt having a plurality of projections formed on the bolt insertably into the hollow spindle adapted for locking the lock, a plurality of dials normally coupled with sleeves rotatably mounted in the lock body having a plurality of annular corrugated teeth formed on an inner ring of each sleeve retarding the withdrawal of the projections of the bolt to prevent a trial opening by touch feeling by an intruder when rotating the dials in order to find out an opening slot formed in the sleeves for withdrawing the locking bolt, a plurality of positioner plates slidably held on the spindle for rotatably clickingly engageable with the sleeves for helping sensing a subsequent dialing operation from numeral to numeral; and a combination-changing plate pre-inserted in the locking bolt for pushing the sleeves inwardly to disengage their coupling with the dials for free rotation of dials for re-setting a new combinatiType: GrantFiled: October 15, 1990Date of Patent: July 2, 1991Inventor: Chong-Kuan Ling

Patent number: 4596125Abstract: The combination can be set by discs which are toothed on one of their faces. This toothing causes movement of internal bushes or rings which are at least partly contained in seats in a manually controllable slider, which can be moved against a spring when, having set the exact combination, a radial passage in said bushes or rings becomes disposed in a position such as to allow radial movement of the bushes and thus movement of the slider and opening of the lock. The combination can be changed by setting the existing combination and moving the slider and thus the rings, so that these latter disengage from the toothed discs which can thus be rotated into another position without dragging the bushes with them.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 1985Date of Patent: June 24, 1986Assignee: C.G.V. Patent number: 4422312Abstract: A lock assembly incorporating an exterior knob assembly which is axially movable into engagement with a latchbolt. The knob assembly includes a shaft having a circumferential groove into which a plurality of locking pins extend. The position of the locking pins is controlled by means of a number of combination knobs, and normally one or more of the locking pins is positioned within the circumferential groove to prevent axial movement of the exterior knob assembly. When the proper combination is chosen, the locking pins will be out of engagement with the groove, thereby allowing the exterior knob assembly to be moved into engagement with the latchbolt. The latch bolt can also be actuated by means of an interior knob assembly. The interior knob assembly is movable into a position which prevents engagement of the exterior knob assembly with the latchbolt despite the fact that the locking pins are all retracted from the circumferential groove.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 1980Date of Patent: December 27, 1983Inventor: Israel Chermoni

Patent number: 3937503Abstract: A slide-bolt type latch locking means is disclosed including a rotary member mounted on a shaft for engagement with a latch bolt to hold the latch bolt in locked condition; a rubber washer is compressed by the rotary latch lock and prevents rotation of the latch lock by vibration of the supporting member to maintain the latch lock in position but permitting manual rotation of the latch lock to permit unlocking of the latch-bolt. Another embodiment employs a rotary latch lock mounted on a slide bolt with a radial slot alignable with a fixed lug to permit movement of the slide bolt to an opened condition, a movement not possible when the slot is not aligned with the fixed lug; a compressible washer maintains the latch lock in any given position of rotation.Type: GrantFiled: July 3, 1974Date of Patent: February 10, 1976Inventor: Carson E.
