Irregular Nonplanar Or Undulated Patents (Class 70/407)
  • Patent number: 4296618
Abstract: Lock and key device with the lock comprising a barrel for driving at least one bolt, rotatably mounted in a fixed hollow shaft and containing fittings the cooperation of which with wing couples formed on the key in its operational portion unblocks the barrel relative to the shaft as to a rotary movement when the key is completely driven-in, means being provided in the lock and on the key for limiting the driving-in of the key inside the lock to the unblocking position of the fittings, a longitudinal undeceiver of the key cooperating with a barrel slot, distinguishing a wing couple from another wing couple for the introduction in a correct position of the key inside the lock.

  • Patent number: 4229957
Abstract: A locking mechanism having at least one but preferably two locking bolts movably supported for guided linear movement in a housing between locked and unlocked positions. Where two locking bolts are employed, each locking bolt moves in a direction opposite from the other. The locking mechanism is characterized in that each locking bolt is comprised by at least two superposed bolt parts which are linearly movable along the longitudinal axis of the bolt relative to each other and are provided on the corresponding longitudinal edges with a plurality of spaced matching teeth having an angle of 10.degree.-80.degree.. A key is provided for guided linear movement through a keyhole perpendicular to the bolt parts and having teeth matching those in the bolt parts formed in at least one of its side edges and where two oppositely moving bolts are provided, the key has matching teeth formed in each of the side edges thereof.

  • Patent number: 4146761
Abstract: A key-actuable electrical switch for a key having a distal end portion including a hook and an abutment section, a central portion including key cuts defining a tumbler pin code and a proximal end shank portion. The switch includes a housing having a first portion rotatably receiving a key core including a plurality of tumbler pins, the first portion including a set of tumbler pin retraction bores housing springs for urging the tumbler pins into engagement with the tumbler pin code portion of the key. The key cooperates with the key core, tumbler pins and retraction bores to permit sliding movement of the key longitudinally of the core in the locked position and in at least one other switch actuating position. The switch includes a first pair of circuit terminals and a movable contact carrier having a first position opening a circuit between the first pair of circuit terminals and a second position closing the circuit between the first pair of circuit terminals.

  • Patent number: 4111019
Abstract: This invention describes a pickproof lock consisting of a rotating cylinder provided with two sets of opposing tumblers. The tumblers permit a very thin key to be inserted between them. The key is made of a ribbon material of the order of one-hundredth of an inch thick and the tumblers are displaced in both directions from the center so that manipulation of a lockpicking tool becomes very difficult, since the tool must be as thin as the key and each set of tumblers must be in the correct position for the cylinder in turn.

  • Patent number: 4094177
Abstract: An improved, tamper-resistant lock and key assembly is provided of the type which includes a key having a post and a generally cup-shaped bit having a bitting formed on the outer end thereof, a generally hollow cylinder, and a circular, pin-type tumbler mechanism housed within the cylinder and defining therewith an annular keyway. The key may be inserted a fixed distance into the keyway to permit rotation thereof between a release and locking position. The improved assembly provides a key having a key bit which has a notched portion formed therein radially inwardly of the bitting thereof and means for obstructing direct access of the key bit to the keyway. The obstruction means includes an obstruction member spaced above and generally overlying the keyway, which necessitates lateral shifting of the key bit therebelow to effect alignment thereof with the keyway.
