Patent number: 10724286Abstract: A deadbolt cushioning system includes: a deadbolt cushioning structure attached to a door frame so that when a door with a fully extended deadbolt closes from a wide open position toward a closed position the extended deadbolt impacts the deadbolt cushioning structure. The deadbolt cushioning structure for preventing the extended deadbolt from impacting the door frame and for preventing the extended deadbolt from impacting a strike plate attached to the door frame. The deadbolt cushioning structure may include at least first and second telescoping housings with a biasing structure (e.g., foam and/or spring) provided therebetween. When the deadbolt impacts the deadbolt cushioning structure the biasing structure compresses and the second housing slides relative to the first structure and moves toward the face of the door frame to which the first housing is affixed.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2015Date of Patent: July 28, 2020Inventor: Robert Rissone

Patent number: 8528374Abstract: A portable device having compact size while accommodating a mechanical key therein. The mechanical key has an opening and an internal space, which are in communication with each other. An engagement member, arranged in the internal space, is movable between a first position where it partially projects from the opening and a second position where it is accommodated in the internal space. A resilient member, which urges the engagement member from the second position toward the first position is arranged in the internal space, includes a fixing portion fixed to the mechanical key in the internal space. The portable device further includes a case having a key accommodation portion for removably accommodating the mechanical key. The key accommodation portion includes an engaged portion that is engaged with the engagement member when the mechanical key is accommodated in the key accommodation portion.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 2006Date of Patent: September 10, 2013Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Tokai Rika Denki SeisakushoInventors: Toshiharu Katagiri, Jun Yamaguchi, Takao Ogimoto, Takumi Tamezane

Patent number: 7861564Abstract: A slot device for holding a portable device that communicates with a controller installed in a vehicle. The slot device includes a retainer for retaining the portable device, a shutter for closing the retainer, and a spring received in a spring receptacle for urging the shutter to close the retainer. The spring is supported in an inclined state to contact the inner surface of the spring receptacle and prevent vibrations and noise.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 2005Date of Patent: January 4, 2011Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Tokai Rika Denki SeisakushoInventors: Yoshinori Ito, Shozo Kito

Patent number: 7690233Abstract: A portable device includes a main body, which has a mechanical key retainer, and a mechanical key, which is removably retained in the mechanical key retainer. An engagement projection extends from the mechanical key in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the mechanical key is inserted into the mechanical key retainer. The engagement projection is formed from a resilient material. The mechanical key retainer includes an engagement recess for engaging the engagement projection when the mechanical key is retained in the mechanical key retainer. This structure reduces the size of the portable device and improves portability of the portable device.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2006Date of Patent: April 6, 2010Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Tokai Rika Denki SeisakushoInventors: Toshiharu Katagiri, Takumi Tamezane, Katsushi Miwa, Jun Yamaguchi, Hironori Mizuno, Makoto Yamamoto, Takao Ogimoto

Patent number: 7392675Abstract: A slot mechanism having an accommodation space into which an insertion object is inserted through a slot. The slot mechanism includes a shutter located in the accommodation space. The shutter is movable along an insertion direction of the insertion object. When the insertion object is inserted into the accommodation space, the shutter is pressed by the insertion object and moved toward the back of the accommodation space. When the insertion object is removed from the accommodation space, the shutter is moved toward the slot to close the slot. The shutter has a guiding portion that stabilizes the attitude of the insertion object when the insertion object is pressed against the shutter.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 2005Date of Patent: July 1, 2008Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Tokai Rika Denki SeisakushoInventor: Shozo Kito

Patent number: 4888970Abstract: A key unit includes a transmitter for remote actuation of a lock and, in a common housing, a mechanical key for mechanical operation of the lock. The mechanical key is held within a key compartment in the housing and, when a trigger button is depressed, pivots to an outwardly extending working position on a circular bearing portion. The cover of the housing is held to the lower portion at one location by a bayonet connection which enables the cover to be pivoted to a position for access to the battery compartment in which batteries are contained for the transmitter. A lock connection spaced from the bayonet connection couples the cover to the lower housing portion when closed, and a removable locking screw is provided to hold the cover in the closed position.Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 1987Date of Patent: December 26, 1989Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Hans Kinzler, Aleksander Kotowicz
