Patent number: 7805969Abstract: A multiple dial lock includes reset dials rotatable around a lock shaft. Each reset dial must be at a specific angular position for a user to unlock the lock or reset the combination. Each reset dial has a magnet. A master key includes sensors, each in communication with one signal. Each of the signals indicates to a user that a respective magnet is adjacent a respective sensor, thus assisting a user in recovering a lost combination. A rotary lock includes a dial which rotates a drive cam, which in turn rotates several wheels to their unlocking positions. One magnet for each wheel is provided on the drive cam. Each magnet communicates with one sensor provided on a master key, which also includes signals, indicating that a respective magnet is adjacent a respective sensor, thus assisting a user in recovering a lost combination.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 2007Date of Patent: October 5, 2010Assignee: ACCO Brands USA LLCInventors: Carl H. Patent number: 7178369Abstract: A multipurpose seal with a lock, including a mobile closure apparatus of a casing containing a lock and an attachment element designed to be locked in the casing. The lock includes a barrel configured to move in the casing between a locked position and an unlocked position. A remote-interrogatable electronic component including a data-storage is maintained in a housing, which passes through part of the casing and part of the lock barrel when the lock barrel is in the locked position. Patent number: 4528828Abstract: A padlock comprises a lock casing and a basically U-formed shackle slideable therein between a closed and an open position. The padlock has two legs of different length, each provided with a locking notch. The longer leg has a head that is somewhat thicker than the general part of the leg for keeping the shackle engaged in the casing in its open position. There is also a cylinder lock mechanism, operable by a key, and locking members coacting with a guiding portion of a turnable member of the cylinder lock mechanism for locking both legs of the shackle to the lock casing. The locking members are movable dependent on the angular position of the guiding portion of the cylinder lock mechanism between a locking and a releasing position. The releasing position allows the shorter shackle leg to completely slide out from the lock casing.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 1983Date of Patent: July 16, 1985Assignee: Oy Wartsila AbInventor: Heikki Poutiainen
