    Abstract: A key fob assembly for a vehicle that includes a housing is provided. A mechanical key includes a key holder for rotation to and from the housing. The key holder includes first and second ends positioned opposite to each other. The key holder defines an opening extending between the ends for defining a pivot axis to facilitate the rotational movement of the mechanical key. The spring cover is coupled to the key holder and positioned about the second end of the opening. The spring is positioned within the opening and is coupled to the spring cover. The button is coupled to the spring and is releasably coupled to the first end for preventing rotational movement of the key holder when the button is coupled to the first end and for facilitating rotational movement of the key holder about the pivot axis when the button is released from the key holder.

    Abstract: A collar stay perforating device for perforating a portion of a collar stay and a collar stay storage device for storing the perforated collar stay are provided. The collar stay perforating device comprises a base member having a punch hole and a guide to receive an end of a collar stay. A first lever member pivotally attached to the base member has a punch member that cooperates with the punch hole. A second lever member pivotally attached to the base member bears on the first lever member to bring the punch member into cooperation with the punch hole thereby perforating the collar stay. The perforated collar stay may then be stored on a collar stay storage device comprising an openable ring member having releaseably engageable arms for forming a closed loop. The ring is openable permitting one of the arms to be inserted through the perforated collar stay thereby providing ordered and compact storage of collar stays.

    Abstract: The body of a portable device of an electronic key system includes a lock mechanism for removably holding an emergency key held in a housing of the body. The mechanism includes a rotary member and a torsion coil spring. The rotary member is supported rotatably on the body, and when a first end of the member is pushed inward of the body in the direction perpendicular to the rotary shaft, a second end of the member is raised outward of the body. The spring applies a constant force to the first end outward of the body. The second end is formed with a protrusion adapted to be fitted in a hole of the forward end of the key held in the housing. With the key held in the housing, the protrusion is disengaged from the hole and the key can be pulled out by pushing the first end.

    Abstract: A separable, pull-apart key holder formed of two identically-shaped pieces. The pieces are mounted together in reversed, face-to-face relationship. The pieces are formed of a strong, rigid resiliently flexible plastic material, such as molded polycarbonate or nylon. Each includes a flat, plate-shaped body having a generally planar bearing surface on one side. Projecting tongues formed at one end of the bearing surfaces are received in openings formed at the opposite ends of the bearing surfaces. Locking notches snap into engagement to prevent accidental separation of the pieces after they have been pressed together. The pieces can be intentionally separated by simply pulling them apart with a quick tug or pull, causing the locking notches to deflect resiliently and release. The pieces are reassembled by simply pressing or sliding them together, longitudinal alignment between the parts being established by interfitting ribs and channels on the bearing surfaces.

The key further includes a bushing along the length of the shaft for centering the key socket within the barrel of the weapon, and further to identify the size by indicia inscribable thereon (or other desirable indicia). Very importantly, the shaft slot formed in the handle is defined by a shoulder and a shaft bore, with the gap between the two shoulders being slightly smaller than the diameter of the shaft such that the shaft snaps into the slot when stowed.
