Abstract: A lockable firearm storage box is provided. The box includes a lid and a base forming a storage chamber for a firearm. The box is provided with a locking device that includes a plurality of latching members that will secure the lid and base of the box in a closed configuration. A tether is also provided for securing the box at a given location.

Abstract: An exercise system is provided in which multiple exercise routines may be conducted with a single system. The exercise system may be used for skiing exercises, rowing exercises, and for weight training/resistance exercises. The system includes a housing that encloses a resistance assembly. A movable grip device and/or carriage interfaces with the resistance assembly so that movement of the grip device or carriage is resisted. The exercise system may include a concealment housing so that it may be stored in a compact and concealed position. The concealment housing may be an article of furniture or a portion of a structure to provide space saving benefits.

Abstract: Disclosed is a diode-pumped solid-state laser having an asymmetrical optical resonator provided with at least two resonator mirrors, inside said resonator being provided at least one thermal lens having an optical refractive power D and having two principal planes respectively and said resonator being definable by the following stability criteria: 0<G1·G2<1 with G1=1?L*/R1?D·d2 G2=1?L*/R2·D·d1 and L*=d1+d2?D·d1·d2 d1,d2 the distances of the resonator mirror from the principal planes of the thermal lens R1, R2 the radii of curvature of the resonator mirrors.

Abstract: A two way open-end zipper formed of two zipper tapes, left and right top stops, a plug pin and a fixed pin and two slides is disclosed in which the fixed pin has a first upright sidewall, a second upright sidewall, a longitudinal sliding way defined between the first and second upright sidewalls for the passing of the slides during installation of the slides, and a springy hook projected from the first upright side wall into the longitudinal sliding way and adapted to stop the slides in place when the slides moved downwards along the zipper tapes to the lower limit position.

Abstract: A mechanism for converting between rotational and linear movement includes a rotatable hub structure and a striker element having an inboard end and an outboard end. In one form of the mechanism, a pivot/spring structure is positioned to engage a pivot location on the striker element between the inboard and outboard ends of the striker element. The pivot/spring structure provides a deflectable pivot fulcrum which can be deflected from a pivot rest position in response to a deflecting force exerted on the striker element. The hub structure can be engaged with the inboard end of the striker element so that a rotational movement of the hub structure provides a force on the striker element tending to cause the inboard end to pivot about the pivot structure, deflecting the pivot fulcrum such that the outboard end of the striker element moves in a generally axial direction. The mechanism can be used in a latch.

Abstract: A chest lock has a linking action and consists of a base, a lock tool set mounted on the base and composed of a lock tool and two linking members which are located at two ends of the lock tool, two retaining members disposed at two ends of the lock tool set such that the retaining members are actuated by the linking members to slide on the base, two lock retainer sets consisting of a lock retainer seat, a slide block and a lock retainer. The lock retainer seat is disposed at one end of the base for the retaining hook to be inserted thereinto. The outer ends of the retaining members are inserted into the lock retainer seats. The slide blocks are slidably disposed in the lock retainer seats and provided with a retaining portion corresponding to the retaining hook. The lock retainer has a body which is pivoted at one portion thereof with the lock retainer seat, and connected at other portion thereof with the slide block.

Abstract: A portable computer includes a housing and a keyboard unit mounted on the housing. A display unit is mounted on the housing to be movable between a closed position wherein the keyboard unit is covered by the display unit and a desired opened position wherein the keyboard is exposed. A latch mechanism for locking the display unit in the closed position is provided at the display unit. The mechanism includes a pair of latch hooks rockable between a latch position wherein each hook engages a latch hole of the housing and a release position wherein each hook is disengaged form the housing, and an interlocking member, movable together with the latch hooks. A sliding member is slidably attached to each latch hook so as to be movable between a restricted position, wherein the sliding member is situated in the latch hole to restrict disengagement of the hook, and a retracted position, wherein the sliding member is retracted from the latch hole.

Abstract: A closing device includes a keeper provided with a retaining element for retaining a bolt in the keeper in a closed position of the device. The retaining element is mounted to be pivotable about and to be axially movable on a rod provided in the keeper and is resiliently biased to both axially slide on and pivot about the rod in such manner that, in an active position, the retaining element projects into an extension of an opening into which the bolt is capable of entering so as to close the device, and it is brought to a retracted position by axially sliding along the rod while being automatically returned to its active position from its retracted position as soon as the bolt is extracted from the keeper under the effect of the resilient force exerted by a spring.

Abstract: A connection device for releasably interconnecting two members (16, 18) preferably a receptacle and its lid, comprising an upper component (1, 101) which is provided with a hook (21, 102) and a lower component (2, 103) and a one- or two-armed lever (3, 104) which is articulated on said lower component and which is provided with a counterhook (15, 105). In order to avoid that the connection device springs open or disengages unintentionally, a snapper (5, 109) is pivotably attached to the end of the lever (3, 104) facing away from the counterhook (15, 105), said snapper being provided with a locking projection (13, 113) which is associated with a complementary, projecting locking member (14, 114) of the lower component (2, 103) and which is equipped with a spring (12, 115) holding the snapper (5, 109) in its locking position.

Abstract: A latching device for luggage is described, wherein a latching member having a hasp engaging angled finger is rotatably mounted in a frame member. A spring member rotatably mounted atop the latching member has a key receiving recess, a locking tab for preventing rotation of the latching member, serves to urge the latching member against the base member and yieldably holds a ball in recesses in the base member. A hasp has a boss with a curved slot for receiving the hasp engaging finger on the latching member. A cover plate is rigidly attached to the latching member and is rotatably disposed on a base member which has a raised rib. A side wall of the cover plate rides across the rib camming the latching member and angled finger upwardly against a wall of the slot to draw the hasp and latching device toward each other.
