Closure for doors, bonnets, tailgates or the like, in particular of vehicles, such as motor vehicles
Patent number: 6098432Abstract: The invention concerns a closure with a closure cylinder whose cylinder core (33) can be moved by a key into different operating positions. The object of the invention is for at least one microswitch (50) to be actuated by switching cams (42) only once, even if the switching cam (42) continues to be moved when the microswitch (50) has been actuated. During the return movement, this microswitch (50) should not be triggered by the switching cam (42) again, and so faulty switching is avoided. To that end, a control member (40) cooperates via a separable coupling (35, 45) with a control member (40) on which the switching cam (42) is located. The control member (40) is acted upon by a restoring spring (46) which endeavors to move the control member into an initial position and simultaneously subject it to a force (43) in the coupling sense by the cylinder core (33).Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 1998Date of Patent: August 8, 2000Assignee: Huf Hulsbeck & Furst GmbH & Co. Patent number: 5039829Abstract: The invention is an assembly of a push-pull switch and a device to selectively limit the action of the push-pull switch. The switch has a body, a plunger translatable into or from the body, and a round head on the plunger. The switch opens or closes depending on whether the plunger is extended or retracted. The device is comprised of two semi-cylindrical sleeve halves that fit together to form a complete sleeve about the head of the plunger. The sleeve is open at both ends, has two internal grooves into which the head can snugly fit, and has an external groove to accommodate a clip, tie or like mechanism for holding the sleeve halves together. Depending on which internal groove is fit over the head and on which end of the sleeve faces the body of the switch, the plunger will either be locked in an extended position or will be prevented from resting in a retracted position.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 1990Date of Patent: August 13, 1991Inventor: Robert C. Patent number: 4979383Abstract: This lock, which may be coded-keycard operated, has a set-table device on the inside of the door by which the maid, for instance, can be locked out. The lockout setting device is preferably in the form of a pushbutton or deadbolt turnpiece which manipulates a switch in the code-receiving circuitry. The lockout setting is automatically cancelled when the latch is retracted. When the setting device comprises a deadbolt turnpiece, the deadbolt is biased toward retracted position and the setting device holds the deadbolt extended. When the latch is retracted in the latter version, the retraction cancels the lockout setting and permits the deadbolt to retract under the power of the deadbolt biasing spring. The invention also includes a non-code-operated embodiment in which a deadbolt is spriing driven to retracted position as the latch is retracted in latching to protect the deadbolt, lock and door frame.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 1989Date of Patent: December 25, 1990Assignee: Yale Security, Inc.Inventor: Clay E.
