Variable Rate Patents (Class 700/74)
  • Publication number: 20030018399
Abstract: An on-line optimizer is provided wherein a boiler (720) is optimized by measuring a select plurality of inputs to the boiler (720) and mapping them through a predetermined relationship that defines a single value representing a spacial relationship in the boiler that is a function of the select inputs. This single value is then optimized with the use of a plant optimizer (818) which provides an optimized value. This optimized value is then processed thought the inverse relationship of the single modified value to provide modified inputs to the plant that can be applied to the plant.

  • Publication number: 20020169510
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for process-variable-dependent identification signal emission for a closed-loop and/or open-loop control program with cyclic sampling of process variables from a technical process. A threshold value crossing time (ts1, ts3) is determined from at least two previous samples (AT1, AT2, AT5-AT7) of a process variable (P). At this time, an identification signal can be triggered, which can call up a single-stage or multi-stage command sequence. The threshold value crossing time (ts1-ts3) can likewise be determined with the aid of a mathematical approximation function and the samples (AT1, AT2, AT5-AT7). A timing mechanism can be started in the predicted sampling cycle (A12 to A89) preceding the threshold value crossing (SD1-SD3) using a time difference (ZD1-ZD3) remaining until the threshold value crossing (SD1-SD3).

  • Publication number: 20020133262
Abstract: The invention is a method of controlling a microstepping motor. The method begins with the initialization of a logic circuit in accordance with the requirements of a profile/index bit generated by a microcontroller. An initial stage is established for the logic circuit and determining whether or not to run the motor in stand-alone or pulse controlled mode. The logic initial stage comprises the initialization of a set of one or more data registers; configuration of interrupts and input/output ports; and, the setting of timer prescales. The method next performs a logic sequence to a motor use profile, a system profile, and a program flow. After completion of the logic sequence, the method performs a step sequence to establish the timing pattern of electrical impulses to be directed to one or more integrated circuits.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer program apparatus, are described for implementing techniques for processing data from a combinatorial experiment. The techniques include receiving data from a chemical experiment on a library of materials having a plurality of members and generating a representation of the chemical experiment. The representation includes data defining an experiment object having a plurality of properties derived from the chemical experiment. The experiment object is associated with the library of materials. The representation also includes data defining one or more element objects. Each element object is associated with one or more members of the library of materials. A data model and corresponding data structures for describing such experiments are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6415206
Abstract: A method for determining a minimal set of adjustments for the blades of a rotor supported by a supporting structure for reducing rotation-induced vibration in the supporting structure at at least one harmonic rotation order and/or for reducing track deviation while maintaining structure vibration over at least one harmonic order within an acceptable limit. In one embodiment, a relationship is established by which vibration of the supporting structure may be calculated at harmonic orders of rotor rotation from Fourier coefficients of adjustment, Fourier coefficients of unit vibration influence and Fourier coefficients of vibration measurements. Thereafter, a value is determined for each selected Fourier coefficient of adjustment that provides a desired virtual reduction of vibration of the supporting structure at the harmonic order of the selected Fourier coefficient of adjustment using the vibration relationship.

  • Patent number: 6314329
Abstract: When a motor vehicle is not in motion, an algorithm for establishing the initial zero point offset values for a yaw rate sensor as may be used in motor vehicle software control systems. The initial values are the manufactured values and are downloaded into the vehicle ECU at the time of the manufacture of the ECU. When the vehicle is waken at the vehicle assembly and the ignition is first turned on, the initial actual value of the zero point offset is stored both as a maximum and minimum value. At subsequent adjusting times when the vehicle is not moving, but the ignition is on, the spread between the maximum and minimum values are checked. If the spread becomes greater than a desired predetermined spread, the value, be it the maximum or minimum value reflects the measured value and the other value is adjusted to be within the desired spread. When the ignition is turned off and the vehicle is not moving, the zero point offset maximum and minimum values are stored in memory.

  • Patent number: 6104964
Abstract: A processing result storage device stores data on the results of an etching apparatus having processed a product. An apparatus property storage device stores data which indicate the property of the etching apparatus as processing property data. A process stability judgment device judges the stability of a step based on the processing result data stored in the processing result storage device and the apparatus property data stored in the apparatus property storage device. When the process stability judgment device has judged the step to be stable, the processing rate automatic calculation device calculates an etching rate. On the other hand, when the process stability judgment device has judged the step to be unstable, the processing rate recalculation device calculates an etching rate, based on the results of the etching apparatus having actually etched. The processing requirement determination device determines the etching requirements from the calculated etching rate.

  • Patent number: 6052626
Abstract: The order of optical conditions and mask conditions necessary required in a photolithography process to be varied is designated so as to minimize the number of recalculations for a transmission cross-coefficient and a Fourier transform of a mask. The conditions are systemically varied and Fourier transforms of the mask and the transmission cross-coefficients are tabulated. With the resultant tables, the parametric analysis for calculating the light intensity distribution is performed.
