  • Patent number: 6292729
Abstract: A tractor includes various actuators or functions, such as a powershift transmission, a hitch and hitch control system, a PTO, a plurality of selective control valves, etc., all controlled by one or more control units in response to sensed parameters and operator manipulated control devices, such as switches, knobs and levers. A function management system includes a programmed control unit which has a learn/save mode which is operable while the vehicle is moving. During the learn/save mode the operator performs a sequence of manual manipulations of the operator control devices, and the control unit records and then stores information pertaining to the sequence of operations, together with information pertaining to the distances traveled by the tractor between operations.

  • Patent number: 6216056
Abstract: With an operation handle arranged in the neighborhood of e.g. a microscope for operation as an appliance to be supported attached to the tip of plural arms rotatably coupled with one another, the operation force applied to the operation handle is detected as a signal in directions of plural axes by a force/torque sensor, the detected force/torque information in each of the directions of the plural axes is impedance-control and track-control to compute an operation command for each joint in the plural arms, and on the basis of the operation command for each joint, the plural arms are moved in the direction of the operation force.

  • Patent number: 6212440
Abstract: With only specification of numerical control information to be used for machining when an operator uses a machining tool equipped with a numerical control system, optimum display and functions can be realized to meet various machining situations. In the system, after a command specifying hypertext has been analyzed by a numerical control information analysis section, the contents of the command is transmitted to a hypertext specifying section where the hypertext itself is specified. In the meantime, after having been analyzed by the numerical control information analysis section, a command designating the displaying or execution of the specified hypertext is designated by a browser-function executing section to execute various processes described in the hypertext specified by the hypertext specifying section.

  • Patent number: 6195591
Abstract: A process controller implements an overall, user-developed control strategy in a process control network that includes distributed controller and field devices, such as Fieldbus and non-Fieldbus devices. A user defines the control strategy by building a plurality of function blocks and control modules and downloading or installing user-specified portions of the control strategy into the Fieldbus devices and the non-Fieldbus devices. Thereafter, the Fieldbus devices automatically perform the downloaded portions of the overall strategy independently of other portions of the control strategy. For example in a process control system that includes distributed field devices, controllers and workstations, portions of the control strategy downloaded or installed into the field devices operate independently of and in parallel with the control operations of the controllers and the workstations, while other control operations manage the Fieldbus devices and implement other portions of the control strategy.

  • Patent number: 6167325
Abstract: Actual machining positions P1, P2, . . . corresponding to command positions S1, S2, S3 . . . of each block of NC data are obtained by trial machining. Positions that correspond symmetrically to the actual machining positions P1, P2, . . . with respect to the command positions S1, S2, S3 . . . of each block are obtained. Modified NC data are created with use of the symmetrical positions as modified command positions for each block. The modified NC data include correction values for modifying positional differences attributable to a delay in a servo system. Therefore, if machining is carried out in accordance with the modified NC data, the correction values and a follow-up delay attributable to the actual delay in the servo system cancel one another, so that a high-accuracy work shape can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 6161051
Abstract: A system software solution for controlling an enterprise which defines and illustrates the electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, logic, diagnostics, external behavior, controlled resources and safety elements of an enterprise control system. The elements of the control system are encapsulated in objects of an object-oriented framework within a control assembly. The control assembly is the fundamental building block for providing object-oriented control of the enterprise. A control assembly component is a deployable control subsystem that provides an interface using a common object model that is configurable. The enterprise control system includes facilities for retrieving external models utilizing a predefined interface. The retrieved model includes support for external resources such as an external resource tree in which the leaf nodes correspond to resources to be controlled, resource and process information and a computer aided design model.

  • Patent number: 6151530
Abstract: A first microprocessor controls an actuator according to a control program stored in a program storage memory, using a learnt value stored in a learning value storage memory. The learnt value is updated in response to an action of the actuator. A second microprocessor is connected to the first microprocessor to replace the control program with another control program which also has a function to initialize the learnt value. However, when the learnt value has been updated, the first microprocessor prohibits the second microprocessor from replacing the control program, thereby preventing the impairment of control response due to initialization of the learnt value.

  • Patent number: 6144889
Abstract: During the program execution of a user program, the function code assigned to an output signal and the function parameters assigned to this function code are read first. For each function parameter, depending on whether this refers to an input signal or to another instruction, either the input signal is stored temporarily or a branch is made to the other instruction and its function code and function parameters are executed. The generation of the user program is carried out in a similar way. In addition, however, the storage or the as-valid identification of the user program is prevented if the function parameters of all the instructions of at least one output signal have not all been input.

  • Patent number: 6112127
Abstract: An automation system for programming appliances having programmable controllers, programmable devices and trigger devices that communicate over a communication link. The user programs the programmable devices by placing the programmable controller in its training mode, activating the trigger device to generate a trigger signed and places select programmable devices in their programmed state. After all of the desired programmable devices have been put in then programmed states, the user takes the programmable controller out of its training mode. When the programmable controller is out of its training mode, it monitors the communication link for the trigger event. Upon detecting the trigger event, the programmable controller sends messages to the selected programmable devices instructing them to go to their programmed state.

  • Patent number: 6044305
Abstract: A system and method for debugging and tuning a process control network having distributed control functions implemented by a set of field devices communicatively linked over a bus includes an operational scheduler that schedules the execution of each of a number of process control functions and communication functions performed by the field devices to define a process control scheme and an indicator that indicates one or more process control scheme locations at which the process control scheme is to be automatically or conditionally interrupted to thereby enable debugging and/or tuning of the process control network. A controller interrupts execution of the process control scheme at the indicated flow locations, communicates process data to a user to display the current or a past state of the process to a user and waits for user input before continuing with operation of the process control scheme.

  • Patent number: 6026336
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for automatically generating a program for controlling a computer controlled system such as a plant. A number of general and standard program modules 49, 51 are prepared beforehand. A standard module is selectively displayed on a display device 21 as a graphics information image. Standard modules are combined as desired in accordance with a system operation procedure to generate customized program modules 50, 52 which are stored as graphics information images in stackers 155. A number of customized modules are generated for respective program functions. Customized modules are compiled to generate source programs, and thereafter assembled to generate intermediate level modules not addressed which are then combined and edited to generate a load module program.
