  • Patent number: 10275403
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for efficiently searching a database including a table. The table is partitioned along a first dimension, such as latitude. Indexes in each of the partitions are built along a second dimension, such as longitude. The table may also be clustered according to an index to improve performance. When a processor receives a database query term and a starting location, the processor selects, from the table, a data partition within a first offset to the starting location along the first dimension. The processor selects, from the selected data partition, a first number of first data records related to the query term and within a second offset to the starting location along the second dimension.

Abstract: Various systems, mediums, and methods may be implemented to retrieve data from a user's mobile device. In one example, a system may determine a number of reviews received by the user's mobile device. Some of the reviews may include poor reviews, such as low ratings (e.g., one or two star ratings), negative written reviews, and/or other forms of data indicative of various establishments and/or services. In such instances, the system may generate notifications and transmit the notifications to merchant devices, such that the merchants may be alerted of the user having a history of providing poor reviews. As such, the system and/or the merchants may be notified accordingly to ensure the user will be satisfied with the services provided and to avoid a negative review from the user.

Abstract: Systems and methods for recommending photogenic locations to visit are provided. One aspect of the present disclosure is directed to a computer-implemented method for recommending photogenic locations. The method includes receiving a signal indicative of a geographic location at which a client device is located. The method further includes determining whether the geographic location is within a threshold distance from at least one of a plurality of photogenic locations. Each of the plurality of photogenic locations can have been identified by clustering a plurality of photographs based on geographic proximity. The method includes transmitting a prompt to the client device when the geographic location is within the threshold distance from at least one of the plurality of photogenic locations. The prompt can indicate the existence of the at least one photogenic location that is within the threshold distance from the geographic location.

Abstract: An apparatus may include a landmark selector configured to receive selection of a landmark. A sensory device may determine at least one position indicator relating to alignment with the landmark from a sensing location, such as orientation, attitude, and/or altitude. The apparatus may further include a position determiner configured to determine a relative position of the sensing location with respect to the landmark based at least in part on the position indicator. Accordingly, the apparatus may determine the relative position of the sensing location with respect to the landmark. In some embodiments the apparatus may be further configured to determine the absolute position of the sensing location. Thereby position information may be used, for example, to create collaborative content captured at an event occurring near the landmark.
