Abstract: Systems and methods for control of a vehicle fleet system are provided. A disclosed vehicle fleet system includes a dedicated fleet control system for operating a dedicated carrier fleet having dedicated carrier vehicles. The dedicated fleet control system may be in communication with a common carrier control system of a common carrier fleet and may operate to assign various shipments among the dedicated carrier vehicles and the common carrier fleet. In particular, the dedicated fleet control system may selectively assign the one or more shipments to the dedicated fleet or the common carrier fleet based on dedicated carrier constraints and common carrier constraints. The constraints may be based on information received in part from an operator device communicatively coupled to the communication circuitry disposed in the respective vehicle, including an amount time that a driver has been operating the respective vehicle.

Abstract: Embodiments provide techniques, including systems and methods, for locating and navigating to the location of a requestor based on proximity between a requestor device and a provider device. For example, embodiments display proximity indicators to allow a provider to quickly, easily, and safely locate a requestor upon arrival near a request location. Further, in some embodiments, graphics associated with a proximity vector may be presented on a provider communication device to clearly display the navigation directions to the provider so that the provider may easily find their matched requestor without requiring additional communication between the provider and the requestor. Additionally, embodiments provide efficient navigation to riders by limiting display of proximity indicators for navigation until the provider is within a threshold distance to the request location to conserve system resources and communication between an on-demand matching system and the provider computing device.

The approach involves, for instance, projecting a probe point of the sequence of probe points to a plurality of element projections, wherein each of the plurality of element projections is a candidate projection of the probe point to a respective candidate location on a map-matched road segment. The approach also involves determining an optimal spatial boundary containing the plurality of element projections associated to the probe point. The approach further involves specifying a distance to the optimal spatial boundary from a previous node as a heuristic of a probabilistic map matcher for all of the plurality of element projections. The approach further involves executing the probabilistic map matcher based on the heuristic to determine a map matched path and providing the map matched path as an output.

Abstract: Contemporary navigation systems are often tasked with routing a vehicle to a destination, but are poorly equipped to assist with finding a vacancy of a parking opportunity in which the vehicle may be parked. Static information, such as enumeration of parking garages and curbside parking meters, may be frustrating if such parking opportunities have no vacancies. The determination of vacancies with certainty may be difficult to achieve due to the characteristic volatility of parking, in which vacancies may be taken in seconds. Presented herein are navigation device configurations involving probabilistic evaluation of parking routes in a vicinity of a destination that may be generated and compared, optionally weighted by various factors, to identify a parking route with parking opportunities that collectively present a high probability of vacancy as compared with other parking routes, which may be presented to the user and/or appended to a current route of an autonomous vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11897494
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for generating a dynamic speed profile of a motor vehicle which is suitable for simulating in particular actual vehicle operation on a route, comprising the following procedural steps: determining a route-based static speed profile for the route resolved into route segments based on information from a digital map; determining a route-based dynamized speed profile on the basis of the route-based static speed profile which factors in a defined maximum target deceleration to reach mandatory speed minima of the speed profile; determining a time-based dynamic speed profile resolved into time increments on the basis of the route-based dynamized speed profile, wherein an applied acceleration is determined in each time increment based on the speed dictated by the speed profile in a route segment corresponding to the respective time increment and the applied speed in the time increment; and outputting the time-based dynamic speed profile.

  • Patent number: 11892307
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide for identifying problematic areas within a service area for an autonomous vehicle transportation service. For instance, a starting location within the service area corresponding to a potential pickup location for passengers or cargo for the service may be identified. A destination within the service area may be identified. A simulation may be run in order to determine a route for a simulated vehicle to travel between the starting location and the destination. That the route includes a particular type of maneuver may be determined. A new simulation without allowing the simulated vehicle to complete the particular type of maneuver may be run. Whether the simulated vehicle reaches the destination in the new simulation may be determined. Based on the determination of whether the simulated vehicle reaches the destination in the new simulation, the starting location and destination location may be flagged as potentially problematic areas.

Abstract: A method for determining a pullover spot for a vehicle is described. The method includes using a computing device to detect information related to a system of the vehicle or an environment surrounding the vehicle using a sensor of a vehicle and determine a local failure of the vehicle based on the information. The computing device may then be used to determine that the vehicle should pullover before completing a current trip related to transporting a passenger or good by comparing vehicle requirements for the trip with the local failure and determine a pullover spot by identifying a first area for the vehicle to park in part based on a second area being available for a second vehicle to pick up the passenger or good. The computing device may operate the vehicle to the pullover spot and transmit a request for a second vehicle.

Abstract: Systems and methods for optimizing issue reporting in a navigation environment are provided. In example embodiments, a networked system causes presentation of a navigation user interface on a user device of a user, whereby the navigation user interface includes a route being navigated and navigation instructions. The networked system also causes presentation of one or more issue icons on the user device, whereby each issue icon represents a different type of issue to be reported. A selection of an issue icon from the one or more issue icons is received by the networked system. In response to receiving the selection of the issue icon, the networked system infers a location associated with the issue. The networked system updates a database with the issue and the inferred location. In some embodiments, the database is updated after the inferred location or the issue is verified.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for predicting a traversal time for a route. A request for navigation directions is received and a route between the origin and destination is calculated. A series of route segments to be traversed on the route are identified, as well as one or more sub-series of route segments of the series of route segments, with each sub-series having route segments to be traversed consecutively on a portion of the route. For each sub-series, a sub-series traversal time is predicted based on historical traversal time data associated with historical trips where each of the route segments of the sub-series were traversed consecutively. A total route traversal time is predicted based on the sub-series traversal time. A set of navigation directions and the predicted total route traversal time are provided for presentation on a client device for navigating from the origin to the destination via the route.

Abstract: The present application discloses a map data updating method, an apparatus, a device and a readable storage medium. The specific implementation solution is: after receiving road information reported by an electronic device, a server obtains multiple sequences according to the road information, and each road information belonging to the same sequence has the same type and location. After that, the server inputs each road information contained in the sequences to a pre-trained neural network model, so that the neural network model outputs a recognition result according to the sequences. The server updates map data according to the recognition result. With such solution, valid road information is recognized by combining context of each road information in the sequences and the neural network technology, and the map data is updated, which achieves the purpose of accurately updating the map data.
