  • Publication number: 20100324894
Abstract: Technologies are generally described for voice to text to voice processing. An audio signal can be preprocessed and translated into text prior to being processed in the textual domain. The text domain processing or subsequent text to voice regeneration can seek to improve clarity, correct grammar, adjust vocabulary level, remove profanity, correct slang, alter dialect, alter accent, or provide other modifications of various oral communication characteristics. The processed text may be translated back into the audio domain for delivery to a listener. The processing at each stage may be driven by a set of objectives and constraints set by the speaker, the listener, a third party, or any combination of explicit or implicit participants. The voice processing may translate the voice content from a specific human language to the same human language with various improvements. The processing may also involve translation into one or more other languages.

Abstract: A method and devices are described for providing a user of a mobile communication apparatus with a prediction of a string of characters based on one or more characters. The method includes the steps of: receiving information that relates to the location of the mobile communication apparatus; receiving character information which is part a the string of characters to be predicted; accessing databases which comprise pre-defined strings of characters and selecting therefrom a group of strings of characters associated with the vicinity at which the mobile communication apparatus is currently located; transmitting the selected group of strings of characters to the mobile communication apparatus; and displaying the selected group of strings of characters at the mobile communication apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20080319752
Abstract: A speech synthesizer generating system and a method thereof are provided. A speech synthesizer generator in the speech synthesizer generating system automatically generates a speech synthesizer conforming to a speech output specification input by a user. In addition, a recording script is automatically generated by a recording script generator in the speech synthesizer generating system according to the speech output specification, and a customized or expanded speech material is recorded according to the recording script. After the speech material is uploaded to the speech synthesizer generating system, the speech synthesizer generator automatically generates a speech synthesizer conforming to the speech output specification. The speech synthesizer then synthesizes and outputs a speech output at a user end.

  • Publication number: 20080133241
Abstract: A speech processing system includes a multiplexer that receives speech data input as part of a conversation turn in a conversation session between two or more users where one user is a speaker and each of the other users is a listener in each conversation turn. A speech recognizing engine converts the speech data to an input string of acoustic data while a speech modifier forms an output string based on the input string by changing an item of acoustic data according to a rule. The system also includes a phoneme speech engine for converting the first output string of acoustic data including modified and unmodified data to speech data for output via the multiplexer to listeners during the conversation turn.
