The automated agent maintains a reinforcement learning neural network and generates, according to outputs of the reinforcement learning neural network, signals for communicating resource task requests. First and second task data are received. The task data are processed to compute a first performance metric reflective of performance of the automated agent relative to other entities in a first time interval, and a second performance metric reflective of performance of the automated agent relative to other entities in a second time interval. A reward for the reinforcement learning neural network that reflects a difference between the second performance metric and the first performance metric is computed and provided to the reinforcement learning neural network to train the automated agent.

Abstract: An online concierge system includes sponsored content items in an interface including different slots for displaying content items. A sponsored content item may be displayed in a single slot or in multiple adjacent slots. The online concierge system determines a content score for various sponsored content items indicating a likelihood of a user interacting with a sponsored content item and a position bias for slots in the interface indicating a likelihood of the user interacting with a slot independent of content in the slot. Position biases are different dependent on a number of slots in which a content item is displayed. The online concierge system generates a graph identifying potential placements of sponsored content items in slots by selecting content items in an order according to their content scores. Sponsored content items are positioned in slots according to a path through the graph that has the highest overall expected value.

Abstract: A counterfeit item detection system detects counterfeit items during an item listing processes provided by an online marketplace. The system enhances the ability of the online marketplace to identify and reject potential counterfeit items. The system collects item data in various formats. The item data is analyzed using speech-to-text software and natural language processing to determine data elements representing items, item features, and language context. Questions are generated using the items and item features, and stored for each item. Answers to the questions have associated counterfeit indication weights. The weights are modified and used to rank the questions as feedback is received about counterfeit items. The ranking determines future question selection, allowing the best questions to continually be identified and provided. The counterfeit item detection system also trains a neural network to detect counterfeit items in images, where the training images are obtained from videos related to the item.

Abstract: A lead time calculation system includes a configured lead time generator and a measured lead time generator. The configured lead time generator calculates a lead time estimate to move products between a first node in a supply chain and a second node in the supply chain based on expected travel times, expected warehouse times, expected sourcing times, delivery schedules, unloading schedules, and product-node relationship data. A measured lead time generator receives electronic data interchange (EDI) events, receipts, and purchase order data and calculates an actual lead time for the first node and second node. The actual lead time can be compared with the configured lead time to evaluate performance of different aspects of the supply chain. Lead time estimates can be adjusted based on actual lead times that are measured by the measured lead time generator.

The information processing device acquires transaction history information of an item related to item information of an item specified by a seller for putting-up, from a database which stores transaction history information of items put up in the past. Further, the information processing device extracts transaction history information of other items which suit to a putting-up purpose of the item by the seller, as suited transaction history information, from the extracted transaction history information.
