Abstract: Features to include within a predictive build of a computing system are selected. The predictive build is an anticipated final build of the computing system prior to receiving a firm customer order for the computing system in accordance with which an actual final build of the computing system is then built. A marginal cost of first building the predictive build and then modifying the predictive build to realize the actual final build, as compared to building the actual final build without first building the predictive build and then modifying predictive build to realize the actual final build, is estimated based on the features selected. Responsive to determining that the marginal cost is less than a predetermined acceptable marginal cost limit, the predictive build is built prior to receiving the firm customer order, and then is modified to realize the actual final build upon receiving the firm customer order.

Abstract: It is possible to present a recipe according to a request reflecting how strongly the user feels for cooking. An information processing apparatus acquires a first feeling degree specified by a user as a degree of strength of feelings for cooking. The information processing apparatus acquires a second feeling degree of each recipe on the basis of a plurality of attributes of the recipe. The second feeling degree is calculated as the degree of strength of feelings for cooking. The plurality of attributes are identified from the recipe stored in a storage means. The information processing apparatus searches for one or more recipes whose second feeling degrees within a range according to the first feeling degree is calculated, and causes the found recipe to be presented.

Abstract: Methods and systems of optimization are provided for a products subscription service in appearance-related commerce for a plurality of users that considers the relevant set of attributes of a customer against the available products in order to personalize the products contained in the customer recommended packages. A customer's physical characteristics, actions and preferences are matched with different products available during the subscription period. The process maximizes the chances the customer will receive products that are preferable and in turn increase probability of the provider retaining subscribers. Optimization is achieved by a two phase approach involving 1) determination of the beauty product combinations, i.e. determination of what items go into a set number of variety of bags/packages; and 2) assigning one of those bag types to each customer; thereby obtaining the maximum utility for the customer with the constraints of limited amount of product and product combination types.
