Abstract: A retrieval support system includes a database which stores commodity image data; a retrieval unit which acquires commodity image data having image characteristic information which is the same as or similar to image characteristic information indicating a characteristic in an image of input image data, from the database, with respect to the input image data; and a condition setting unit which sets a retrieval condition including at least one of time information relating to time, place information relating to places and occasion information relating to occasions. The retrieval unit performs retrieval of the commodity image data based on the retrieval condition set by the condition setting unit. The commodity image data acquired by the retrieval unit and information relating to a commodity different from a commodity corresponding to the commodity image data are output together.

Abstract: An augmented reality AR system and method for a retail experience include a waveguide apparatus that includes a planar waveguide and at least one optical diffraction element The AR retail system and method recognizes user location in a retail establishment, retrieves data corresponding to the retail establishment and generates virtual content relating to the retail establishment based on the retrieved data. The AR retail system and method creates a virtual user interface in a user's field of view. Virtual content is displayed on the virtual user interface while the user is engaged in retail activity and may be based on user input. The AR retail system and method may provide entertainment, facilitate the shopping experience, offer virtual coupons, render games based on locations throughout a store or based on a shopping list, provide information about food choices such as calorie counts, and identify metadata associated with items.

Abstract: Customized interactive image collection generation is described. A plurality of interactive images associated with at least one merchant can be accessed. An interactive image of the plurality of interactive images can depict one or more items offered for sale by the merchant and individual items of the one or more items can be associated with individual selectable controls. A selectable control can enable a customer to view item information associated with an individual item with which the selectable control is associated. Customer data can be accessed and a subset of interactive images of the plurality of interactive images can be selected based at least in part on the customer data. The subset of interactive images can comprise a personalized lookbook that can be presented via a display of a device to enable the customer to add the individual item to a virtual cart via an interaction with the selectable control.

Abstract: In some examples, a server may determine a browsing history associated with a user, identify activities associated with purchasing a device, and determine features of the device. Individual features may be assigned a corresponding priority based on the browsing history. A machine learning algorithm may predict a configuration of the device based on the features and the corresponding priorities. The server may create a web page that describes a specification of the device based on the configuration and includes a comparison of at least some of the features of the device with other features of similar devices. The server may send a notification with a link to the web page. The web page may enable the user to modify the configuration and modify a price of the device. The server may receive a purchase order to purchase the device and instruct a manufacturing facility to build-to-order the device.

Based on the determined location, a distance to a registered mobile electronic device from a transmitter is determined. The transmitter is a directional transmitter, capable of transmitting along a sector. A sector corresponding to the registered mobile electronic device based on an angle range and distance from a transmitter to the registered mobile electronic device is determined.

The server may render a map view of the hospitality establishment based on obtained map data. The map view may include a graphical representation of the room and other rooms at the hospitality establishment. The server may annotate the graphical representation of the room with at least a portion of the set-top box data.

A second account connected to the first account may be selected where the second account previously performed a search for the hashtag on the communications network, and at least one of the one or more content items may be provided to the second account.

Further, the method includes receiving, from the first computing device, a selection of items for presentation on a first user graphical representation. The techniques use region locking so that content being edited by one user viewing and editing the scene in a three-dimensional immersive environment cannot be edited by another user concurrently viewing and editing the same scene in the three-dimensional immersive environment. Accordingly, a scene can be divided into multiple regions that can be locked to provide an element of protection against user interference that can result when two users are editing, or attempting to edit, the same content.

Abstract: Presentation synthesis implementations are presented that generally build a slide presentation based on a hierarchical outline of textual presentation elements. These elements are spatially mapped onto a canvas that provides a master layout for slides. This mapping is accomplished use a set of canvas layout and size rules. Each presentation text element is illustrated by a slide that visually combines canvas text and in one version supporting content items (e.g., text, image, video, and so on). The slides are generated using both the set of canvas rules, and a set of slide style rules. A systematic traversal of the text elements determines the slide path. Slides are styled to highlight the current focus element as the presenter moves through the presentation and can be zoomed out to the canvas to give context during delivery.

Abstract: A system and method for determining the measurements needed to correctly fabricate prescription eyewear for an individual who is purchasing the eyewear. The individual is provided with an initial set of frames. The initial set of frames is fitted to the requirements of the individual to obtain a fitted frame. An eye exam is also conducted to obtain a proper lens prescription for the fitted frames. The individual is imaged while the fitted frames are being worn. This creates reference images. At some point, the individual may select a subsequent set of frames. Once the subsequent set of frames is selected, a retailer recalls the reference images and obtains fitting measurements from the reference images. The online retailer can also recall the lens prescription for the initial fitted frames. Utilizing the fitting measurements, the retailer can custom fit the subsequent set of frames.

Abstract: A method for obtaining a representation of an environment includes requesting device context information from a user device. The request is sent to the user device from a virtual machine environment established by a database processor. The virtual machine environment is established by the database processor in response to a request received from the user device over a network for a representation of an environment. User preference information is requested and the device context information and the user preference information are received in the virtual machine environment. Based on the device context information, an environmental data set (EDS) is identified that includes information reflective of the environment. The EDS is received in the virtual machine environment and the EDS is modified based at least in part on the user preference information. Executable computer code is constructed for generating a representation from the modified EDS and sent to the user device.

The system comprises receiving an ambiguous voice query relating to an object from a user, retrieving a viewing history of the user for about a list of media assets viewed by the user, determining, from the list of media asset, a media asset that is likely to contain the object based at least in part on metadata of the media asset and the ambiguous voice query, searching content of the determined media asset to identify a segment within the media asset that contains the object, and generating a display of information about the object identified from the segment.

A report of the comfort value is transmitted to a building automation system (BAS) app from the smartphone, and the output of a building system is controlled based on the comfort value.

Abstract: An integration platform provides a third party channel products from a merchant, so that the third party channel may cause an opportunity to be presented to a user to purchase one of the products. In response to an indication of a user purchase, the integration platform transmits a purchase request to the electronic commerce platform to create an order for the purchase. The integration platform may create a payment for the purchase with the merchant's payment processor and transmit the payment to the payment processor, update the order with the merchant's electronic commerce platform with the payment information, update the status of the order to shipped, and capture payment information by communicating with the payment provider. The merchant's electronic commerce platform may then update the order with the integration platform, which may notify the third party channel of the update so that update may be communicated to the user.
