The method includes: a blockchain node receives a locking request sent by a handheld terminal, and the locking request includes an identifier of an electronic lock on a logistics box and a waybill number of an item in the logistics box; the blockchain node acquires an unlocking key of the electronic lock corresponding to the waybill number according to the locking request, and the unlocking key is confirmed by a receiving terminal corresponding to the item; the blockchain node generates a locking instruction according to the unlocking key and the waybill number, and sends the locking instruction to the electronic lock, where the locking instruction is used to instruct the electronic lock to lock, and store the unlocking key and the waybill number. Logistics security of the item is improved.

Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for clearing internationally shipped items through government customs agencies. Aspects of the invention utilize a unifying database to consolidate information from different parties (e.g., government entities, shippers, carriers, brokers, and item recipients) associated with delivery of an internationally shipped item in a common location. The unifying database facilitates communication between different the parties that use different data protocols, different data formats, different data types, different EDI, etc., Parties can update relevant information corresponding to their responsibilities within the unified database. When one party updates information, other parties can be notified electronically in essentially real time of status changes relevant to item delivery. Brokers can be assigned for at-will clearance work based on broker profile information maintained in the unifying database.

Abstract: Provided is a system and method that can identify whether an item is a dangerous good. The system can determine whether a product belongs in any of a number of different classes of dangerous goods from among a plurality of different regulations based on a machine learning algorithm which performs a text-based classification. In one example, the method may include receiving an identification of an object, retrieving a plurality of descriptive attributes of the object from a data store and converting the plurality of descriptive attributes into an input string, predicting whether the object is a dangerous object via execution of a text-based machine learning algorithm that receives the input string as an input, and outputting information about the prediction of the object for display via a user interface.

Abstract: Techniques for remotely monitoring the operation of a cargo shipping reefer container configured with a refrigeration system that has installed therewith a control computer coupled with sensors monitoring the operation of the refrigeration system include: collecting a first and second set of observation data comprising a respective first and second sequence of measurement values measured by sensors coupled to the control computer; running a simulation model that receives the first set of observation data as input and outputs simulated values; the simulation model is configured to output the simulated values as estimates of the second set of the observations; computing an indicator value as a function of residual values computed from the difference between the values of the second set of observations and the simulated values; and evaluating the indicator value against a predefined criterion and issuing an alarm signal in case the predefined criterion is exceeded.

Abstract: A method and system for vetting items being shipped across national boundaries using a new technology enabling an automated system is provided. In particular, the automated system screens items for shipping through customs and validating the items for shipment according to customs rules and regulations. The system identifies and applies the appropriate rules for customs and other responsible agencies pertaining to the eligibility of any item being imported into a particular country. The present invention utilizes an unconventional combination of image recognition technology, machine learning algorithms, and rule engine algorithms to categorize, identify, and apply the appropriate rules to each and every item being considered for importation to another country.

Abstract: An acquisition unit acquires weather and marine data indicating a ship voyage schedule that serves as a reference, actual performance data, fuel consumption data, and weather and marine conditions the ship has encountered during a voyage. A time difference data generation unit calculates the difference between the time indicated by the reference data and the time indicated by the actual performance data for each of the journeys between ports. Projected fuel consumption calculation unit calculates projected fuel consumption for each of the journeys between ports based on the reference data, weather and marine data and fuel consumption data. Fuel consumption difference data generation unit calculates the difference between the projected fuel consumption and the actual fuel consumption amount indicated by the actual performance data for each of the journeys between ports.

Abstract: Consumer goods sold through international ecommerce sites can be classified using pertinent information extracted from data related to previous sales/shipping of commodities. A database stores historical information related to previous sales of commodities, including a description of the commodity, HS code, weight, size, etc. When a consumer makes a purchase of a commodity on-line with a request for an international shipment, the server operating the seller's website provides descriptive information related to the commodity being sold to a classifier server. The classifier server accesses the database and performs a search of the information stored in the database using the information provided by the seller's server to find a best match for the commodity being currently sold. The classifier server will then determine one or more parameters for the commodity based on the historical data stored in the database, that are used to calculate the fully landed cost for the commodity.

A governmental fee for the good is determined. A database with rules to determine a form based at least on the first country, the second country, and the attributes of the good is accessed. The determined form is automatically populated with at least the indicator for the good and the governmental fee, and a label is automatically developed. The indicator and other attributes of the good, the amount of the governmental fee, and identification of the form used are stored in a database for efficient future use.

The freight rate manager includes a rate sheet input module for accepting data describing a rate sheet. A rate sheet analyzer analyzes the rate sheet to identify potential errors and compares the rate sheet against rate sheet templates. If a template matches the rate sheet, then the rate sheet analyzer interprets the rate sheet according to the template. If the rate sheet analyzer does not find a matching template, a communications module sends the rate sheet to another location or otherwise stores the rate sheet for analysis. An accessorial charges module accepts information about accessorial charges. The outputs of the rate sheet analyzer and the accessorial charges module are provided to a rule generator which generates rules for calculating freight rates given the rates in the rate sheet and the accessorial charges.

A system is provided which may guide the consumer through the process of planning the move, including developing an inventory of items to be transported. Based on the consumer's plan, quotes for the move may be provided from multiple movers, and each quote may be an exact price that a mover will charge, rather than merely an estimate. To enable movers to provide exact quotes, some embodiments of the invention implement a standard pricing methodology. The system may allow movers to define pricing information in accordance with the methodology, and this information may be used to calculate a quote for a move when a consumer requests one.

A computer device determines whether at least one of a customer, location for receipt of goods, and location for receipt of services is associated with an embargo state. The computer device blocks any portion of the invoice determined to be associated with an embargo state. The computer device determines if the at least one of goods and services requires at least one export license or other permission for exporting the at least one of goods and services. The computer device assigns permissions that are available. The computer device also communicates or identifies any permission or export license that is needed to be requested to initiate a permission or export license request for that export license or permission.

Abstract: Security checks may be implemented in computer systems or software to enforce security rules established by organizations and/or government entities. For example, the United States Transportation Security Administration and Canada Transport have recently established rules for air cargo transportation. When an air waybill is created, modified, and/or displayed a security check may be run on the air waybill. Rules for the air waybill may be selected according to a security code assigned to the air waybill. The security code may represent a country whose rules should be applied against the air waybill when performing the security check. If a security check is passed security information such as a security identifier may be displayed on the air waybill. If the security check fails a warning may be displayed to a user indicating which participant on the air waybill failed one of the security rules.

The system and method generate and manage an electronic manifest (e-manifest) and an electronic commercial invoice (e-release) according to legal requirements as well as the requirements of a manufacturer that imports goods from other countries. A third party logistics provider may facilitate the interactions between an importer of manufactured goods, a supplier, a carrier, and a broker by serving as intermediary and hosting computer applications that manage the flow of information. A commercial invoice provides details about the goods in a shipment. A shipment control number (SCN) is associated with each commercial invoice. The e-manifest for a vehicle lists every SCN for the parts shipments loaded on the vehicle and therefore, provides a link to the commercial invoice data detailing information about the parts in the shipment.

A default plant on an order is changed to a new plant in another country which is the same country as a customer but a different country than a selling organization. A cross dock partner function is entered to reflect a service provider location in a destination country. The cross dock partner is not a true vendor but rather a place holder for the service provider address used by a delivering warehouse to process the order and output appropriate sales documentation. The order is processed like any other order in the system.
