However, the user may not desire to purchase the travel items in a single purchase. Upon making a travel purchase that includes a first travel item that does not include a second travel item corresponding to the first travel item, the user may employ the network travel package service to search for second travel items corresponding to the first travel item, select from discounted travel packages including the first travel item and second travel items returned from the search, and purchase a discounted travel package. Beneficially, multiple travel items may be purchased separately while obtaining a package discount as compared to the stand-alone price of the travel items.

Abstract: An enhanced agreement method and system to consent to a prorated value of a coupon of an E-ticket corresponding to a multi-segment transport involving at least two carriers for the transportation. The invention is based on a new system architecture, which comprises on each carrier side synchronous connections between various modules amongst which an E-ticket Server, a proration module arranged for calculating coupon prorated value, the system enabling to exchange coupon prorated values between both carriers from E-ticket issuance and before coupon usage. Further, based on E-ticket information and said exchange of coupon prorated values, the invention is arranged to launch an agreement process before or at a time of providing the transportation service. Another aspect of the invention is that information on coupon prorated value is embodied within industry standard messages that are already exchanged in current processes.

Abstract: Multiple passenger multiple route techniques are disclosed including sending independent queries to a travel planning system for each of a plurality of passenger groups and receiving lists of individual solutions appropriate for the passenger groups in response to the independent queries. Abstract: Multiple passenger, multiple route processing includes sending independent queries to a travel planning system for each of a plurality of passenger groups, receiving individual solutions and producing a set of tables, each representing a different partial joint solution for each passenger group. For a chosen passenger group, deriving a set of constraints on an individual query for the passenger group, the set of constraints related to the individual solutions and joint travel requirements and constructing a modified individual query, modified according to the derived constraints. The modified individual query for the chosen passenger group is sent to the travel planning system.

Abstract: A method and computer program product for receiving a slot request, from a second respondent having a second seniority level, for an original event slot that was previously reserved by a first respondent having a first seniority level. The second seniority level is compared to the first seniority level. If the second seniority level exceeds the first seniority level: the reservation of the original event slot by the first respondent is cancelled, and the event slot request for the original event slot by the second respondent is accepted.

Abstract: A learning model is built on a combination of advertiser, publisher and user data. The learning model can be applied to all advertisers in an advertising system. The learning model provides predicted conversion rates for a given advertisement (“ad”) appearing on different publisher networks. A predicted conversion rate represents the probability that a click on a given ad appearing on a given publisher will lead to a conversion. The predicted conversion rates are used to generate a multiplier. The multiplier is used to automatically adjust the advertiser's bid (e.g., maximum cost-per-click (CPC)) for the given ad prior to an auction for the ad. Adjusting the advertiser's bid equalizes a cost-per-conversion among the publishers for the ad.

Abstract: A ride matching method is disclosed herein. The ride matching method addresses many of the limitations associated with traditional dynamic ride matching applications. The method is unique in its ability to accept trips with schedules that cannot be expressed in terms of a simple recurrence pattern (e.g. Monday thru Friday work schedule). It can handle one-time and occasional trips. It is also distinct in its use of spatial analysis techniques to locate matches. Specifically, the use of a shortest path solver enables the ride matching method to perform a search along the path of a user's trip, in addition to the customary radial search around the endpoints. The shortest path solver is also used to calculate the driving distance between the user and a match. This provides a more accurate measurement than the straight-line distance used by other methods, especially in the presence of barriers.

A registrant sends, to a database server, a request to register to receive a single notification based the occurrence of multiple events that satisfy certain criteria, referred to as grouping attributes. Such registrations are referred to as grouping registrations. An eventing mechanism in the database server receives and maintains grouping registrations. When an event is received, the eventing mechanism determines whether the event has been registered for in an active grouping registration, i.e., one whose start time has passed but whose completion criteria are not yet satisfied. If so, then the eventing mechanism updates grouping data associated with the grouping registration. When the completion criteria of a grouping registration are satisfied, the eventing mechanism sends a notification to the registrant and/or other intended recipient(s).

Abstract: A location visit detail service, typically provided by a wireless carrier to a subscriber includes a portable wireless device, a location identification means and a central processor. The central processor periodically receives location data generated by the location identification means. The central processor data transforms the location data into time and position data pairs that identify the location of the portable wireless device at a particular time. Through a geographic information system database, the position data is converted to street address data. The details data is provided by the wireless carrier to the subscriber, which can use the details data to provide a summary report describing the activity of the service person. This summary report can be used for preparation of bills or for gathering statistics on (individual or group) service person efficiency. Alternatively, the wireless carrier can prepare the report that is then transmitted to the subscriber.

Abstract: Systems and methods for boarding passengers on flights or other transportation according to bids received from the passengers are provided. Passengers seeking to fly standby on an undersold flight can submit a bid representing the amount the passengers are willing to pay to board the flight. The airline can determine the number of seats available on the flight, and board the highest bidding passengers until the flight is full. Similarly, passengers willing to be bumped from an oversold flight can submit a bid representing the incentive the passengers are willing to accept to be bumped from the flight. The airline can determine the number of passengers that must be bumped from the flight, and bump the lowest bidding passengers (i.e., those willing to accept the least costly incentive) until a sufficient number of passengers have been bumped from the flight.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a solution for improving shared space availability by dynamically responding user utilization behavior of shared space. In the system, automated sensors within a shared space can be used to detect when spaces are in use. Sensors such as motion detectors, infrared sensors, cameras, and the like can correlate space usage to a reservation system. When a space is reserved by a user, the system can verify space occupancy according to the reservation. If the space is unoccupied and the reservation time has not expired, the space can be automatically freed. If the excess time before reservation expiration is more than a threshold value (e.g., fifteen minutes) the system can penalize the user. Penalties can be applied for users that do not utilize reservations.
