Abstract: A resource tagging service allows resource tags to be created and associated with computing resources in a service provider network. The resource tags can be utilized to search, collect, filter, organize and otherwise manage computing resources in the service provider network having matching tags, and/or to perform other types of functionality. A resource groups service allows customers and/or other users of the service provider network to view and access collections of computing resources that share common resource tags and/or other attributes. Resource groups can also be evaluated in order to identify computing resources in a service provider network for which certain types of actions or other functionality is to be performed. Membership of resource groups can also be evaluated over time and inferences can be drawn from the membership and from operational information associated with the member computing resources.

Abstract: Aspects of the technology relate to providing service area maps for an autonomous vehicle transportation service having a fleet of vehicles. For instance, each vehicle of the fleet is associated with a polygon corresponding to a service area for that vehicle. A first location may be received from a client computing device, and a set of vehicles of the fleet of vehicles that are currently available to provide transportation services may be identified based on the first location. The polygons associated with each of the set of vehicles may be used to determine a first polygon having a geographic area. A first portion of map information corresponding to the geographic area of the first polygon may be identified, and the first portion may be provided to the client computing device for display to a user such that the portion represents a currently available service area for the user.

  • Patent number: 11861637
Abstract: Systems and computer-readable media for generating dynamic pricing rules to govern offered price-volume break points. Initial target price-volume break points are offered during a time window. For each transaction of the product, transaction information including the transacted price, quantity, and identifying information of the purchaser is received. Based on a sales trend determined from the transaction information, the time window and the offered price can be updated. After the expiration of the time window, redemptions are generated for each purchaser of the product, based at least in part on the final quantity sold during the time window and the offered price-volume break points. A market price elasticity function is interpolated from observed market price elasticities at each price-volume break point. Using the market price elasticity function, dynamic pricing rules are optimized and updated and then used to calculate updated price-volume break points to be offered for the product.

  • Patent number: 11829935
Abstract: The practical application of a multi-objective mixed integer nonlinear optimization model for the improvement of vessel scheduling, which accounts for all major route service cost components reported in the literature and separates them in two conflicting groups. The original mixed integer nonlinear model is linearized by discretizing the vessel sailing speed reciprocal, and the Global Multi-Objective Optimization Algorithm is developed to solve the linearized model. It was found that negotiation of both vessel service time windows and handling rates between liner shipping companies and marine container terminal operators may significantly reduce the total route service cost components. Furthermore, the numerical experiments show that vessel schedules are more sensitive to the unit fuel cost as compared to the unit carbon dioxide emission cost.

A first portion of map information corresponding to the geographic area of the first polygon may be identified, and the first portion may be provided to the client computing device for display to a user such that the portion represents a currently available service area for the user.

Abstract: The invention is generally related to operations support systems and more specifically, to a method of and system for managing and planning future use of resources. One embodiment of the invention comprises an operations support system which displays multiple visits across a timeline, each visits being associated with a set of resource requirements. The system tabulates, in real-time, the total level of resources required for all of the visits, for each given day, comparing these totals against nominal available resource levels. If there is a shortfall, the system displays a number associated with the short-fall, such as the number of additional technicians that would be required. This provides the user with feedback so he/she can amend visits and tasks within visits to resolve short-falls in resources.
