Abstract: Systems and methods for verifying data in a distributed database using different automated check operations at different times during the database read and update cycles. Various functions may be performed including executing a first check during update operations of the database. A second check may also be executed during the update operation of the database, and be implemented as an execution thread of an update daemon. A third check may be executed at a time interval between update functions of the update daemon. A fourth check may be executed during a time that the database is not being updated. Integrity of data in the database may be verified by a computer processor based on the first, second, third, and fourth checks.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for communicating data is provided. The method includes defining a data transmission unit (DTU) to be sent in an xDSL data stream, defining a retransmit container as a time slot that corresponds to the DTU, maintaining, in a retransmit container, a copy of the DTU and an index corresponding to the retransmit container, the retransmit container being maintained at the second device independently of the first device, transmitting the DTU in the xDSL data stream, determining whether the DTU should be retransmitted, and if the DTU should be retransmitted: identifying the DTU by the retransmit container and retransmitting a copy of the DTU as identified by the retransmit container when the DTU reaches a predetermined position in the retransmission buffer.

Abstract: This description provides tools and techniques for Web-enabled database access tools. These tools may provide systems that include database access tools that provide at least one level of abstraction between external databases and users of the access tools. The systems may also include one or more internal databases maintained by the tool, with the internal database storing respective login information associated with the users. The login information may enable the users to access the tool without providing direct access to the external databases.

Abstract: Example embodiments herein include a system having one or more edge servers disposed in an edge site of a content delivery network (CDN). The system can include a collector for collecting analytics associated with requests for content in the CDN. One or more additional collectors can be instantiated in the system, for example, in response to an increase in recordable events detected in the CDN. The system can include an aggregator for aggregating the collected analytics with analytics collected from other edge stages of the CDN. The system can also include a data store that stores the aggregated analytics according to a configurable data model.

Abstract: Provided is a method for the adaptive updating of building block architectures and designs in the event of a change to a component of the building block architecture. When a specific component of the architecture, or SBB, is replaced or modified, the metadata associated with the new or modified component is placed in a building block repository. The system captures or recognizes the event and automatically makes updates to dependent components of the specific component. Such updates may include, but are not limited to, a substitution or replacement of one component with another, generally if the replacement component is a better fit in the solution architecture than the original component. A new or updated system architecture is generated to reflect the replaced and/or modified components and the associated metadata. In the alternative, the system notifies an administrator to make specific changes in components rather than implementing the changes automatically.

The method for text interpretation and normalization may include receiving a reference data entry that includes one or more strings of text and one or more associated numeric codes, creating a plurality of tokens from the one or more strings of text, each token being tied to an associated numeric code, formatting the plurality tokens with operations codes (opcodes) that provides additional information about the tokens, retrieving configuration data including the plurality of tokens, the opcodes, and numeric codes associated with the tokens, selecting one inbound, non-reference string for interpretation, comparing tokens from the configuration data to the non-reference string to determine the best matching token, and applying, using the processor, the numeric code associated with the best matching token to the non-reference string in order to normalize the non-reference string.

The system may include a load monitoring component for monitoring a current load for comparison with an expected load. The system may additionally include an abnormality detection component for detecting an abnormality when the monitored load exceeds an expected amount by a predetermined threshold. The system may further include an analysis component for determining if the monitored load is an artificial load.

Abstract: Techniques for tenant performance isolation in a multiple-tenant database management system are described. These techniques may include providing a reservation of server resources. The server resources reservation may include a reservation of a central processing unit (CPU), a reservation of Input/Output throughput, and/or a reservation of buffer pool memory or working memory. The techniques may also include a metering mechanism that determines whether the resource reservation is satisfied. The metering mechanism may be independent of an actual resource allocation mechanism associated with the server resource reservation.

Abstract: A system and method are described for progressively efficiently filtering and gathering netflow data. Flow records are analyzed to find out which keys (addresses, conversations, protocols etc) meet defined filter parameters. The netflow data is processed and a data structure of fixed size is continually maintained in order to facilitate efficient retrieval of the gathered netflow data.

Abstract: Systems, methods and computer-readable media process a series of media files into a searchable format. The method includes generating a media database by processing each of a plurality of programs. The steps of the method include extracting a subtitle track from each of the programs, retrieving at least one frame associated with the subtitle track, adding metadata to the extracted subtitle track and at least one frame, processing the subtitle track, program statistics and at least one frame in a media database. Another aspect includes receiving a user query associated with dialog in a program, searching the media database and presenting a listing of results, receiving a user selection or program from their listing and transmitting at least one frame, a portion of associated subtitle track and prompts for ordering the program.

Agent software may be loaded on a first server, which may be a local server, and the first server may be scanned with the agent software to identify data stores located on the first server. The information related to a first data store may be compiled with the agent software, and the information may be provided to a second server, which may be a data accumulation server. The information may be metadata about the first data store, and histories of changes to the data stores may be tracked in the second data store. In one embodiment, in response to a request for searching target data in a storage system, first representative data for the target data being searched are generated by applying a predetermined algorithm to at least a portion of the target data. It is indicated a likelihood that the target data or similar content has been found in the storage system based on the search and comparison.

Abstract: A system and method for creating a consistent view of previously backed up data. In one embodiment, a point in time copy of a set of data is requested. The point in time copy includes a base image of the set of data and additional data corresponding to transactions targeted to the set of data which are received during creation of the point in time copy. A subset of the additional data usable to generate a consistent view of the set of data from the base image is determined. A file that includes a set of changes to the base image represented by the subset is created and stored in association with the base image. Responsive to a request for access to the copy, the previously stored subset is utilized to create a consistent virtual view of the copy from the base image.

Data attribute values of the first data post are compared with data attribute values of the second data post within a plurality of comparable data post pairs to determine quantified similarities between the data attribute values of the first and second data posts of each comparable data post pair. Statistical values of the quantified similarities are calculated by comparing comparable determined quantified similarities for each data post pair, and the calculated statistical values are used for detecting deviations for a first comparable data post pair.

Abstract: At least one quasi-identifier attribute of a plurality of ranked attributes is selected for use in anonymizing a database. Each of the ranked attributes is ranked according to that attribute's effect on a database-centric application (DCA) being tested. The database is anonymized based on the selected quasi-identifier attribute(s) to provide a partially-anonymized database, which may then be provided to a testing entity for use in testing the DCA. In an embodiment, during execution of the DCA, instances of database queries are captured and analyzed to identify a plurality of attributes from the database and, for each such attribute identified, the effect of the attribute on the DCA is quantified. In this manner, databases can be selectively anonymized in order to balance the requirements of data privacy against the utility of the data for testing purposes.

The distributed data cache is distributed across computer-readable storage media included in a plurality of servers in the content delivery network. When an application generates a query for data, a server in the content delivery network determines whether the distributed data cache includes data associated with the query. If data associated with the query is stored in the distributed data cache, the data is retrieved from the distributed data cache. If the distributed data cache does not include data associated with the query, the data is retrieved from a database and the query and associated data are stored in the distributed data cache to expedite subsequent retrieval of the data when the application issues the same query.

Submission of the request to the database system for processing is delayed based on the workload definition.
