Repair Consistency Errors Patents (Class 707/691)
  • Patent number: 7711716
Abstract: Two features allow for increased performance in running database consistency checks. First, a database consistency check runs directly on a database, as opposed to running on a saved database snapshot. This saves memory since there is no need to save a database snapshot. To handle any pages modified since a start of the database consistency check, a supplemental check runs on modified pages. Any facts generated by either check run through an early aggregation that attempts to aggregate facts during the database consistency check.

  • Patent number: 7707192
Abstract: A system and method for distributed database data and file access and retrieval, and managing assets of a company can include the steps of obtaining one or more data elements, storing each of the data elements, determining one or more factors related to a manner in which each of the data elements was obtained, associating a confidence index with each factor, and calculating a confidence index for each of the stored data elements, as well as a composite confidence index for the entire data store, based on the confidence index score for the individual data elements. The system and method can include calculating a confidence index for each of the stored data elements. The factors can include the date that the data elements were obtained. The factors can include from which of one or more sources the data elements were obtained.

  • Patent number: 7707193
Abstract: A system and method verifies and restores the consistency of inode to pathname mappings. In a first embodiment, an off-line verification procedure is modified to verify and correct the primary name inode to pathname mapping information within inodes of a file system. In a second embodiment, an on-line file system verification process is modified to verify inode to pathname mapping information upon the loading of each inode within the file system.

  • Patent number: 7689611
Abstract: In an information processing system including a central processor for generating commands to process storage data stored and for executing a sequence processing and a storage subsystem including a plurality of storage media for transferring data between the plural storage media according to commands from the central processor, a data recovery method recovers data to a predetermined state upon occurrence of a failure in a sequence of processing executed by the central processor. Before execution of a sequence of processing, the central processor issues to the storage subsystem a saving request to save in the plural storage media a copy of data stored in either one of the storage media used in the sequence of processing. In response to the saving request, the storage subsystem saves a copy of data of the storage media.
