Abstract: An online system provides a user-generated media platform that enables the gamification of content generated on the site. The online system maintains a page of content including content items and a link to a third party system that is external to the online system. When the user selects the link, the user is directed to the third party system with which the user interacts to complete tasks. When the third party system determines one or more conditions are satisfied based on the user interactions with content from the third party system, the third party system updates the page of content maintained by the online system. For example, the third party system provides additional content items to the online system for display via the page of content or unlocks content items stored by the online system for presentation by the page of content.

Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide an information push method performed at a computing device. The computing device determines second feature information of a target object associated with a terminal that is communicatively connected to the computing device according to user-behavioral data of the target object and first feature information of to-be-pushed information, and then user-preference level information according to the second feature information of the target object and the first feature information of the to-be-pushed information. The computing device then orders the to-be-pushed information according to the user-preference level information into target information. Finally, the computing device pushes the target information to the target object. Therefore, according to the technical solutions provided in the embodiments of this application, a coverage range of information can be expanded to some extent, thereby improving the preciseness of information pushing.

  • Patent number: 11042596
Abstract: Devices often receive content items to be saved for later presentation to a user. In some instances, the content of the message is analyzed to retrieve supplemental information from external data sources, such as a map to a location discussed in a message. However, such supplementing often fails to reflect the personal context of the content item to the user, who may not easily recall the associated personal context when the content item is later presented. Instead, for a content item to be saved, a device may evaluate personal data sources to identify the personal context of the content item to the user, and add personal context annotations to a content item record of the saved content item. Later, during a presentation of the content item to the user, the personal context annotations may be included as a reflection of the personal context of the content item to the user.

  • Patent number: 11036746
Abstract: Various methods and systems for determining a dominant object of a query and employing the dominant object to provide enhanced search services are discussed. A query is segmented into a set of n_grams. Entity extraction and resolution (EER) methods are employed to determine implicit and explicit aspects for each n_gram. N_grams that include explicit aspects are pruned from the set of n_grams and a pruned set of candidate n_grams is generated from the non-pruned n_grams. Knowledge graphs are employed to generate a ranked list of associated categories for each candidate n_gram. A ranked list of categories associated with the un-segmented query is generated based on knowledge graphs. The candidate n_gram with the highest ranked associated category that is also a highly ranked category associated with the un-segmented query is selected as the dominant object of the query. Enhanced search results are provided based on the determined dominant object.

A search condition setting unit sets a search condition for searching for an item similar to the item selected by the user based on the duplicate word. A search execution unit executes a search based on the search condition.

  • Patent number: 10997635
Abstract: An advertising system is provided and generally includes a computing device that can receive attribute data from a plurality of information sources for an item. The computing device can determine a first number of sources for which the same attribute value for an attribute of the item is received, and can determine a second number of sources for which any attribute value for the same attribute of the item is received. The computing device can generate an attribute confidence value for the attribute based on the first number of sources and the second number of sources, indicating how likely the attribute value for the attribute is correct. The computing device can determine an item confidence value for the item based on multiple attribute confidence values for the item. Based on the item confidence value, the computing device may provide an attribute error signal indicating an attribute value error.

  • Patent number: 10999383
Abstract: A system of computers on a wide area network establishes connections between nodes on the basis of their multidimensional similarity at a particular point in time in a certain setting, such as a social learning network, and sends information of value to those nodes. Dimensions in the definition of similarity include a plurality of attributes in time and community space. Examples of such dimensions and attributes may include a position in a learning community's project cycle, titles of readings and projects, the genre or subject matter under consideration, age, grade, or level of the participants, and language. The network's nodes are represented as a tensor field and are searched efficiently and adaptively through a variety of multidimensional data structures and mechanisms. The system includes a master clock that can transform a participant's time coordinates on the network, such as a social learning network, into Universal Time, and the synchronizer coordinates the position of each participant.

  • Patent number: 10977332
Abstract: A method for categorizing text strings assigns text strings to topical categories. A search engines retrieves and ranks a list of Uniform Resource Locators (URLs) for each test string. The most highly-ranked URLs for a set of text strings form a whitelist of pre-approved text strings that are assumed to correlate closely with category meaning. Incorrectly categorized text strings are identified by scoring a list of URLs retrieved by a search engine for each text string, comparing each score to the whitelist position of the text string, flagging text strings with scores that deviate from whitelist position by at least a threshold amount, and reassigning flagged text strings to categories with the most similar sets of retrieved URLs. An alternate method categorizes an unknown text string by extracting the text content from the URLs, classifying the content with human-created vocabulary rules and aggregating categories found in extracted text to estimate the correct category.

  • Patent number: 10971273
Abstract: Techniques for cognitive corpora analysis are provided. Vector representations are generated by processing documents in a corpus using a passage encoder. One or more concepts are identified in the documents by processing the documents with the passage encoder, where the concepts are assigned respective importance scores by the passage encoder. Further, a selection of a document is received, and a sub-corpus of documents is generated by computing a similarity measure between the vector representation of the first document and the vector representation of at least one other document in the corpus. An overall importance score is generated for a first concept, with respect to the generated sub-corpus, by identifying a respective importance score of the first concept in at least two respective documents in the sub-corpus, and aggregating the respective importance scores. Finally, an indication of the generated overall importance score is provided.

  • Patent number: 10963486
Abstract: Various embodiments relate generally to data science and data analysis, computer software and systems, and wired and wireless network communications to provide an interface between repositories of disparate datasets and computing machine-based entities that seek access to the datasets, and, more specifically, to a computing and data storage platform that facilitates consolidation of one or more datasets, whereby a collaborative data layer and associated logic facilitate, for example, efficient access to, and implementation of, collaborative datasets. In some examples, a method may include receiving a dataset and dataset attributes and identifying a first version of the dataset. The method may include identifying data that varies from a first version of the dataset, and generating a second version of the dataset to include a first subset and a second subset of atomized data. The method may include storing subsets of atomized data points as an atomized dataset.
