Abstract: An efficient large scale search system for video and multi-media content using a distributed database and search, and tiered search servers is described. Selected content is stored at the distributed local database and tier1 search server(s). Content matching frequent queries, and frequent unidentified queries are cached at various levels in the search system. Content is classified using feature descriptors and geographical aspects, at feature level and in time segments. Queries not identified at clients and tier1 search server(s) are queried against tier2 or lower search server(s). Search servers use classification and geographical partitioning to reduce search cost. Methods for content tracking and local content searching are executed on clients. The client performs local search, monitoring and/or tracking of the query content with the reference content and local search with a database of reference fingerprints.

  • Patent number: 9396286
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for determining whether a key is stored in a radix tree. An example system includes a traverser that identifies a container including a sequence of elements. The system also includes a match module that identifies, based on a number of skipped elements in a key, a chunk of the key. The match module determines whether the chunk matches the prefix included in the traversed container. The system further includes a skipping module that when the chunk of the key is determined to match the prefix, skips a number of elements after the chunk in the key. When the chunk of the key is determined to match the prefix, the traverser traverses one or more immediate child containers of the identified container and the search module identifies, based on the number of skipped elements, the chunk of the key.

  • Patent number: 9348898
Abstract: Example apparatus and methods perform matrix factorization (MF) on a usage matrix to create a latent space that describes similarities between users and items and between items and items in the usage matrix. The usage matrix relates users to items according to a collaborative filtering approach. A cell in the usage matrix may store a value that describes whether a user has acquired an item and the strength with which the user likes an item that has been acquired. The latent item space may reflect true relationships between items represented in the usage matrix and those relationships may be proportional to the strength in the usage matrix. The strength of the relationship may be encoded using continuous data that measures, for example, the amount of time a video game has been played, the amount of time content has been viewed, or other continuous or cumulative engagement measurements.

Abstract: A computerized method where one provides first and second data sets, representative of the geological region of interest, each associating a signal to a bin of a four-dimensional input grid of the region of interest. Then one interpolates the first data set to determine both an interpolated first data set and interpolation operators. A residual between the second data set and the interpolated first data set is then determined. The residual is interpolated using said interpolation operators to determine an interpolated residual.

Abstract: Roughly described, a network interface device is assigned a maximum extent-of-search. A hash function is applied to the header information of each incoming packet, to generate a hash code for the packet. The hash code designates a particular subset of the table within which the particular header information should be found, and an iterative search is made within that subset. If the search locates a matching entry before the search limit is exceeded, then the incoming data packet is delivered to the receive queue identified in the matching entry. But if the search reaches the search limit before a matching entry is located, then device delivers the packet to a default queue, such as a kernel queue, in the host computer system. The kernel is then responsible for delivering the packet to the correct endpoint.

Abstract: An approach is provided for providing crowd-sourced location geocoding. A geocoding platform determines one or more location strings associated with at least one event, wherein the at least one event is associated with one or more users. The geocoding platform further causes, at least in part, a geocoding of the one or more location strings to determine location information associated with the at least one event based, at least in part, on one or more inputs, contextual information, a combination thereof associated with the one or more users.

Abstract: Finding a match for an end user on an online social platform is not a trivial task. To improve match making, various methods and systems are disclosed which are configured to compute heuristics for various end users, which help to predict the likelihood that two end users would ultimately engage in some form of communication with each other. The heuristics are used in an algorithm (i.e., a statistical/predictive model) for providing a set of matches to an end user. These heuristics may be computed based on varying forms of communication which indicate different levels of engagement between end users, and/or based on some other indication of how an end user may react to another end user.

Abstract: A device may receive a request to update a data structure with first communication information from multiple applications. The first communication information may identify communications made, by a particular user, using the applications, and the applications may be associated with different modes of communication. The device may request the first communication information from devices storing the first communication information, may receive the first communication information, and may store the first communication information in the data structure. The device may receive criteria identifying requested communications, and may search the data structure to determine second communication information. The second communication information may identify the requested communications that satisfy the criteria. The device may provide the second communication information to a user device associated with the particular user.

Abstract: A query associated with a calculation scenario comprising a plurality of calculation nodes can be received by a calculation engine. The calculation scenario is instantiated and the query is transformed into a convex hull filter based on the at least one multiple selection condition that can be executed at any of the calculation nodes. The instantiated calculation scenario and the convex hull filter are executed to provide a result set. Related apparatus, systems, methods, and articles are also described.

Abstract: One or more embodiments of techniques or systems for search context association are provided herein. Search context association can include search filtering and/or search expansion. For example, when a query is submitted, data or data sets can be filtered to narrow a search or expanded such that additional data sets or queries are included. Data or data sets can be aggregated, filtered, or expanded based on a context of the query. A context can include user characteristics, environmental factors, social media factors, route based characteristics, or destination based characteristics. As an example, when a new product (e.g., a new mobile phone) is released, limited quantities may be available. Users may be directed to different retailers or stores based on inventory levels, length of lines (which may be determined using social media among other things), distance, and the like.

Abstract: The method involves aggregating post text, information about the type of content that has been posted, the post's creation time (time stamp), geographical origin (geo tag) and the username and storing it in a database. In order to search content that has been stored a web-server prompts clients for their search terms which it then parses. The webserver is programmed to identify portions of the search terms as corresponding to locations, hashtags or general search keywords. The method then involves interrogating the database to return relevant results from the vast array of social media content. The results are initially presented back to clients as links comprising markers on a map described on the screen of the client's device. The client can scroll the map view in order to also see the results in a list format. The client can then refine the results according to a number of filters.
