  • Patent number: 7761493
Abstract: A module possessing a class descriptor declares for the module the supported classes. The installation of the module triggers the examination class information model hierarchies possessed by the container on which the module is installed. Finding the established class information model hierarchies to be lacking with respect to the newly installed supported classes, a query is made to ascertain child-parent information for the newly installed supported classes. Using this information, an ancestry of each class is achieved so as to sparsely populate an information model hierarchy for each newly installed supported class.

  • Patent number: 7739292
Abstract: A distributed system includes client- and server-side components that, together, allow XML schemas or the like to be managed in a collaborative way across an enterprise environment. The server-side component, or server, is used to assemble a collection of one or more schemas. The server exposes the collection of schemas to one or more client components that connect to the server. Such connections may be made over a computer network. The client component preferably exports a display interface through which a user can visualize dependencies between schemas, e.g., by dragging them into a workspace and viewing all related schemas and how they are connected, as well as what elements and other components they define. In this way, the client component provides a high-level view of a larger (e.g., enterprise-wide) information architecture.

  • Patent number: 7730080
Abstract: A method for processing queries is provided. A first representation of a query is generated, where the query includes a certain operator that is to be performed based on an XPath expression that is expandable into multiple location paths. The first representation of the query is rewritten into a second representation that corresponds to an equivalent query, where rewriting the first representation includes expanding the XPath expression into the plurality of location paths and, based on the certain operator, including a plurality of operators in the second representation, where the plurality of operators include: a first set of operators that is to be performed based on each of the plurality of location paths, and a second set of operators that is to be performed based on data returned from at least one operator included in the first set of operators. The query may thereafter be executed based on the second representation.

  • Patent number: 7716173
Abstract: A method and system for producing graphics. A hierarchical structure of a database is determined. A visual table, comprising a plurality of panes, is constructed by providing a specification that is in a language based on the hierarchical structure of the database. In some cases, this language can include fields that are in the database schema. The database is queried to retrieve a set of tuples in accordance with the specification. A subset of the set of tuples is associated with a pane in the plurality of panes.

  • Publication number: 20100114932
Abstract: A computer-implemented method and system allows generating a query and a first fourth generation language at a native system to a non-native database which is capable of processing queries in a second fourth generation language. A query initiated by a client applicant in a first fourth generation language is analyzed to determine if it can be processed by a non-native system capable of processing queries in a second fourth generation language. Non-standard syntax representative of a function and the query that cannot be evaluated by the non-native database system is identified. If the syntax is discovered, the query is transformed through the use of formats or through an algorithm process into an equivalent query expression that can be processed by the database system.

  • Publication number: 20100114918
Abstract: The invention relates to identification of individual nucleic acid sequences from a mixed nucleic acid population. A typical application is to determine the bacteria present in sample containing a mix of several different bacteria. Present techniques require initial cultivation of the mixed bacteria sample and manual separation of the bacteria prior to sequencing. The invention allows for identification of the different bacteria by direct sequencing of the mixed bacteria sample without prior cultivation and separation. One aspect of the invention relates to generating a degenerate sequence from a chromatogram obtained by sequencing a mixed bacteria sample. Another aspect relates to base-calling, i.e. identification of individual sequences making up the degenerate sequence from the mixed bacteria sample. In this aspect, the degenerate sequence is divided into degenerate subsequences from which query subsequence combinations are generated.

  • Patent number: 7711743
Abstract: A search of information collected from a root URL (Websites, Web pages, documents or database fields) is dynamically linked back to a directory (contact) record where information from both data sets are displayed to the end user who is performing the search. Additional information can be displayed as it relates to each contact. The dynamic linking includes importing a plurality of directory (contact) records with assigned IDs into a first table of a database and defining a group of root URLs with assigned IDs into a second table of the database. Establishing a coordinating third table of the database to link each of the directory (contact) records with root URLs, thus allowing directory (contact) records to share root URLs. Each root URL is spidered to capture target content (all Web pages within a Website, documents within a directory or content within an individual document) and links the content found to the root URL.
