A segmentation platform causes, at least in part, a segmentation of content into one or more segments, wherein the one or more segments are associated with one or more content labels. The segmentation platform also causes, at least in part, a rendering and/or sharing of one or more remixes of the content based, at least in part, on at least one subset of the one or more segments based, at least in part, on profile information, context information, or a combination thereof associated with one or more viewers of the content, one or more owners of the content, one or more sharers of the content.

Abstract: Systems and methods of tracking and rewarding users of search engines, content networks, communication networks, other networks and/or combinations of networks are described. In many embodiments, users create accounts and control when and the type of information that is tracked. The tracked information can be used to provide rewards, customize offers and rewards and to improve services provided to the user. One embodiment includes receiving secure identification information from the user, retrieving user account information using the secure identification information, receiving a search query from the user, crediting the user account with a reward that is directly related to providing the search query, and returning search results.

Abstract: By placing computer specific remotely originated application data under control of a central identity management system, users can seamlessly run remotely originated applications after logging on to different computers in the enterprise. Cached application content received from a streaming server or network file system, as well as additional application specific data (e.g., files created by the application, configuration changes made by the application on the local computer, etc.), can be configured as central identity management system profile object, using a central identity management system such as Active Directory. This data is thus automatically treated as part of the user settings/profile, and made available on any computer within the enterprise. This results in an optimal application experience for users, regardless of which managed computer they logon to within the enterprise.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for publishing profiled content, where such profiled content can be personalized to individual members. Policies for displaying such content can be set by business personnel obviating the need to hard-code such policies by information technology personnel. These polices may stipulate that personalized content covering geographic information, products owned, products available, etc., may be arranged in various ways and at various times to enhance a member's experience with such content. Personalization may be initiated by member login information, where such login information allows for the matching up of a member's profile against stored data corresponding to such a profile. Once this matching up is accomplished, member personalized content can be displayed across various web pages.

Abstract: An automatic resource ownership assignment system, the system including resource ownership indicators definition functionality operative to allow an operator of the system to define resource ownership indicators, automatic resource ownership recommendation functionality operative to provide, to at least one user of the system, a recommendation to assign ownership of at least one resource to a potential owner, based on the resource ownership indicators, and automatic resource ownership assignment functionality which, responsive to predetermined at least partial approval of the at least one recommendation by the at least one user and approval of said at least one recommendation by the potential owner, is operative to automatically assign ownership of the at least one resource to the potential owner.

Abstract: Network security is enhanced in a multi-tenant database network environment using a query plan detection module to continually poll the database system to locate and raise an alert for suspect query plans. Security also can be enhanced using a firewall system sitting between the application servers and the client systems that records user and organization information for each client request received, compares this with information included in a response from an application server, and verifies that the response is being sent to the appropriate user. Security also can be enhanced using a client-side firewall system with logic executing on the client system that verifies whether a response from an application server is being sent to the appropriate user system by comparing user and organization id information stored at the client with similar information in the response.

Abstract: Particular embodiments receive, at a first computing device associated with a social-networking system and from a second computing device associated with a third-party system, a query comprising a first identifier corresponding to a user of the third-party system, wherein the first identifier is computed by applying a hash algorithm to a user credential associated with the user of the third-party system; determine, by the first computing device, whether the user of the third-party system matches any member of the social-networking system; and if the second identifier corresponding to a member of the social-networking system matches the first identifier, then send, by the first computing device to the second computing device, social-network information of the member of the social-networking system in response to the query.

Abstract: Information describing a transaction is received and a set of hierarchical documents pertinent to the transaction are identified based at least in part on the received information. The set of hierarchical documents is pruned responsive to data describing documents that a user involved in the transaction has previously accepted. Information describing the pruned set of hierarchical documents is output for presenting the pruned set of hierarchical documents to the user involved in the transaction for acceptance as part of the transaction.

An electronic device includes a calendar application and a variety of other applications such as the message reader application or the daily alarm application. The device is configured to use the calendar application to track whether and how the user is notified of the receipt of an electronic message. In one embodiment, the user specifically associates a profile behavior to the calendar entry when the calendar entry is first created.

Abstract: Graphical user interfaces (GUIs) support the collaborative generation of life stories by helping the user view the development of the life stories of other users and facilitating interaction with them through these GUIs. A GUI according to a first type helps the user keep track of recent life stories and comments posted by other users of the collaborative system, and a GUI according to a second type helps the user view life stories of any user in a chronological manner.

Abstract: The invention provides a system and method for sharing anonymous user profiles with a third party. In one aspect of the invention, the system shares user profiles with content servers on a mobile data network so that they may select content responsive to the user's profile. The system provides a store of user profiles for associating profile information with either a source IP address or mobile phone number, where the profile includes information on the user and the user's network usage. The system detects a user's transaction request and inspects it for either an IP address or phone number, which it uses to retrieve the appropriate profile. The system subsequently applies predetermined opt-out policies to determine how much of the user profile may be provided in response to the profile request. The system then returns the profile information such that the user's identity is masked.

Abstract: A user interface including one or more references to content is customized. Several user profiles are provided from which a user may be associated. Each user profile includes user profile information. The user profile associated with a user to whom a user interface will be provided is accessed. A user interface is configured for the user, based at least in part upon the user profile accessed as being associated with the user. Access to content is enabled based on user manipulation of the configured user interface.

Abstract: A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a processor that can determine a standard inquiry message from an inquiry command captured at a first communication device of a first user. The standard inquiry message can have an importance rating based on an urgency of the inquiry command and based on behavior information associated with the first user. The processor can deliver the standard inquiry message and the importance rating to a communications management agent of a second communication device, where an inquiry indicator accompanies the delivery of the standard inquiry message at the second communication device. A method for providing multimedia can include receiving one or more data files containing multimedia from a first user, storing the one or more data files containing the multimedia, and providing at least one of the one or more data files based on access granted by the first user and at a future time set by the first user. A trustee service can be provided to provide the one or more data files to a user at a future time based on predetermined criteria, such as a data, condition or future event.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for a brand search ecosystem accessed via a network including a database of brands and branded products, locations, features, and services with input on business rules, algorithms, and information from brandholders and/or providing economic incentive payments to participants in the brand search ecosystem. The brand search ecosystem includes a brand name database including a plurality of brands and brandholders and brandbidders associated with respective brands. A search engine communicates with brandholders and the brand name database via a network for accessing information of brandholders and the brand name database to identify brandholders and brandbidders associated with brands. The search engine receives search requests from users, accesses the brand name database, and provides search results to the users. A clearing house processes economic incentive payments to brandholders and/or brandbidders associated with brands in the database.

Abstract: A method and system memory to store a logical process model defining a logically structured series of process activities in a process, and Service Level Agreement (SLA) profile information defining a pre-defined plurality of SLA profiles which are potentially applicable to respective process instances. Each SLA profile comprises at least one performance metric with respect to the process and/or at least one of the process activities. A rules engine queries case data with respect to a particular process instance, and automatically determines an applicable SLA profile based on the case data. The applicable SLA profile is then applied to the particular process instance, and may be altered during performance of the process instance in response to case data changes.

The server receives a checkout selection from the first nomadic device, authenticates the first nomadic device, and presents a list of authorized items to the first nomadic device; receives a request for selected items from the list and check out the selected items to the first nomadic device. This prohibits other nomadic devices from checking out the selected items checked out to the first selected nomadic device. The first nomadic device is disconnected and the checked out selected items are updated.

According to an example implementation, a method is provided. The method includes receiving, at a mobile device, user profile information. The method includes storing the received user profile information in a database on the mobile device, where access to the user profile information is controlled by an operating system on the mobile device. The operating system selectively makes the user profile information available to a plurality of applications. The method further includes receiving a request for user information, and in response to the request, accessing the database, selecting at least a subset of stored user profile information in the database to be used to populate one or more fields, and populating the one or more fields with a selected subset of the stored user profile information.

Abstract: A system and method for data storage and removal includes providing databases and providing encryption keys. Each database is associated with a database time period and each encryption key is associated with an encryption time period. Data items are received and each data item is encrypted using the encryption key associated with the encryption time period that corresponds to a time associated with the data item. Each encrypted data item is stored in the database associated with the database time period that corresponds to the time associated with the data item. Each encryption key is deactivated at a predetermined time after the associated encryption time period ends. Each database is made irretrievable upon a determination that all of the encryption keys associated with the data items stored in that database have been deactivated.

Abstract: Systems and methods for automatically locating web-based social network members are provided. According to one embodiment, contact content including an associated GPS identifier and status for web-based social network members located at or near the same location automatically appears on a GPS-enabled device. A further exemplary system includes a GPS-enabled device configured to receive a GPS identifier and a status representing a location and a current state for a web-based social network member, a processing module that associates the received GPS-identifier and the received status, and a communications module that sends the associated GPS-identifier and status to a server comprising a web-based social network database. Contact content in a web-based social network database record in the web-based social network database is updated to include the associated GPS identifier and status for the web-based social network member.

The software engine is used for the security classification of sensitive or national security classified information in electronic and resultant hard copy document formats. The software engine ensures that the individual considers all informational portions of a document, that appropriate document marks are employed, that document marks in their electronic format are persistent and that all necessary information, such as classification guides, standards and security regulations, provided by the organization to classify information is at hand and immediately available. In addition to the document sensitivity or classification determination and marking support, the software engine tracks and controls documents and the electronic media storing documents.

In particular, it relates to linking trust objects to user profiles that connect users to an advertising campaign. The technology disclosed further relates to tracking and measuring reputation of product models in consumer markets. In particular, it relates to assembling consumer feedback on the product models from online social networks and service records of the product models and applying sentiment analysis on the consumer feedback.

Abstract: Data category visibility are defined at the permission set and profile levels so that users who may not be assigned a role can have the data filtered by data category access rules. In an embodiment, data is filtered based on products or projects so that the products or project can be used as a data category group, once the product or project as been assigned to the user, the user may be granted access, via a data category visibility in a permission set, regardless of the user's role or position in the user hierarchy.

Abstract: An improved file security system that manages secured files (documents) is disclosed. The file security system provides centralized management and storage of security information that can be referenced by secured files. In other words, a secured file need not itself contain security information that is needed to determine whether access to the secured file is to be permitted. That is, at least a portion of the security information can be remotely stored and accessed by way of an identifier that is provided within the secured file. By centralizing storage of security information, the file security system is able to subsequently modify access criteria for secured files (documents) without having to physically make modifications to the secured files.

Abstract: A printing system includes a host which includes a storage having one or more folders, establishes one of the folders as a target folder, and generates path information of the target folder, and an image forming apparatus to acquire a list of image files stored in the target folder based on the path information, to request thumbnail images corresponding to the image files on the list from the host, and to display the thumbnail images on a predetermined display unit by downloading the thumbnail images from the host. The host converts the image files stored in the target folder into the thumbnail images and transmits the thumbnail images to the image forming apparatus, and the image forming apparatus selects at least one among the thumbnail images and prints an image file corresponding to the selected thumbnail image by downloading the image file from the host.

Abstract: A method for harvesting application metadata includes receiving metadata from a web application and storing the metadata to a metadata collection. The metadata indicates a characteristic of a web application user. The metadata collection identifies the user and may include metadata from other web applications. The advertisement is then characterized. For example, keywords may be associated with the advertisement. An affinity between the advertisement and the user is then determined and an indication of the affinity is recorded. When the affinity exceeds a predetermined threshold, the user may be identified as a potential target of the advertisement. The service provider may then identify the potential targets to the advertiser or provide the advertisement to the targets on behalf of the advertiser. The web application may be compensated for providing the metadata. The compensation may occur in response to the metadata resulting in identifying the user as a potential target.

Abstract: Updates to landing pages of users in an online social network are fed from external sources so that content maintained by any one user can be consolidated in a single location regardless of where the changes are made to the content. When an update event occurs, users of the online social network are notified according to various criteria that they have set. With this feature, users can browse through content of other users efficiently.

In one approach, the DBMS of a container database allows for the creation of common roles and common users that are shared across the container database. Thus, when a common role or a common user is established, the common role or common user is propagated to each database of the container database. In another approach, the DBMS of a container database allows privileges and roles to be granted commonly or locally. When a privilege or role is granted commonly, the privilege applies in each of the databases of a container database. When a privilege or role is granted locally, the privilege applies only in the database to which the grantor of the privilege or role established a connection.

Abstract: The present invention re-renders data center visualizations at different levels of abstraction based on roles or activities of an avatar. Morphing of data center objects is accomplished by either combining or decomposing existing data center objects in a manner that will result in a new object that maintains its relationship to the original objects. An example of this would be when creating an application object by combining an existing infrastructure objects (e.g., a server, a network and storage) used to support the application object runtime environment. This allows for the avatar to not only relate the application object to the supporting infrastructure objects, but also provides a view of how the application object is impacted whenever the supporting infrastructure objects change or break.

Abstract: An Internet delivery method delivers electronic information products to a plurality of users via the Internet. A plurality of display formats are stored in a database. The display formats including at least a default display format and a custom display format. Information is also stored for each user indicating whether the user is a specific type of user. When a user logs in, the user is identified as being that specific type of user. If the user is identified as the specific type of user, then an electronic information product is delivered to the user in the custom display format. The electronic information products are accessed via computers connected to the Internet, including wireless devices.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques that may enable user activity information to be automatically generated and shared with other users of a social network. In one example, a method of automatically publishing, to one or more social network services, information about user activities regarding media content items includes receiving user activity information regarding a media content item, wherein a user is a member of one or more social network services, and the user activity information is generated in response to one or more activities taken by the user with respect to the media content item. The method may also include receiving an indication of one or more users of the one or more social network services to whom the user activity information is to be made accessible, and automatically publishing the user activity information to the one or more social network services.

Abstract: Computer based systems, methods, software and databases are presented in which correlations between web item preferences and pangenetic (genetic and epigenetic) attributes of individuals are used for pangenetic based web item recommendation in which a user can request and receive personalized online recommendations of web items that are based on the user's pangenetic makeup. Data masking can be used to maintain privacy of sensitive portions of the pangenetic data.

Abstract: The described embodiments of invention comprises a method and an apparatus for regulating access to objects by authorized entities. Authorized entities are entities authorized for access by either an owner entity of the regulated object or an entity authorized to authorize access to the regulated object. Each user, which may be a physical person or another information system, is identified using standard user validation techniques. When an object is first created or introduced to the system, that information is associated with an owner, who is one user on the system. The present embodiment allows the owner to define relationships with other users, either generally or regarding a particular object. The owner may or may not have trusted relationships with other users. A second user that has a trusted relationship with the owner automatically has access to the object without additional intervention by the owner. In addition, the second user may have a trusted relationship with another user.

Abstract: A dynamic icon overlay system of a present invention embodiment dynamically generates icon overlays to be applied to a primary file icon of a target file. The icon overlays convey information regarding the target file and are relevant to an end user. The icon overlay system determines icon overlays to be applied to the primary file icon based on attributes associated with an end user of the target file that are correlated with attributes of the target file itself. The system applies the icon overlay to the primary icon and displays the primary icon with the applied icon overlay at an end user system. The applied icon overlay for the same target file may vary for different end users based on user attributes.

Abstract: A system, method, and a computer program product for checking in-memory authorization profiles are disclosed. An authorization profile of a user in an enterprise resource planning system can be determined. An access to an in-memory database system can be requested based on the determined authorization profile. Based on the access request, an authorization check of the determined authorization profile of the user can be performed to determine whether the user can access the in-memory database system using the determined authorization profile. An access to the in-memory database system to the user can be granted based on the performed authorization check.

Abstract: Files of computer documents are classified into confidential levels without extracting and analyzing contents of the files. Files created by particular users may be clustered into groups of files based on file characteristics, such as file type (e.g., file extension) and file naming convention. A prediction confidential score may be generated for each group of files. A log of a file retention resource may be consulted to identify files created by users. A file created by a user may be assigned a prediction confidential score of a group of files having the same file characteristic as the file and created by the same user. The prediction confidential score may be used to determine a confidential level of the file when the file is found to be inaccessible.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for enabling user privacy for content on a network includes receiving input from a first user instructing at least one change in user access to shared content provided by a network system. The change modifies the user access from an existing set of one or more users of the network system to a different set of one or more users of the network system. The method checks a privacy setting associated with each of one or more referred users of the network system who are referred to by the shared content. The privacy setting indicates whether the associated referred user is to be sent a notification indicating that the at least one change in user access has been instructed.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for regulating access to a database by a server. One exemplary method involves the server receiving one or more requests for an activity with respect to the database and determining an attempted usage for the activity over a monitoring period by a source of the requests. When the attempted usage exceeds an allowed usage of the activity for the monitoring period, the server provides a human verification test to the source and thereafter initiates the activity with respect to the database in response to receiving a satisfactory human verification response to the human verification test from the source.

Abstract: A basic architecture for managing digital identity information in a network such as the World Wide Web is provided. A user of the architecture can organize his or her information into one or more profiles which reflect the nature of different relationships between the user and other entities, and grant or deny each entity access to a given profile. Various enhancements which may be provided through the architecture are also described, including tools for filtering email, controlling access to user web pages, locating other users and making one's own location known, browsing or mailing anonymously, filling in web forms automatically with information already provided once by hand, logging in automatically, securely logging in to multiple sites with a single password and doing so from any machine on the network, and other enhancements.
