Abstract: A method for mapping an active entry within a virtually hashed page table is disclosed. An active entry within a virtually hashed page table is populated. A link table for locating a link at an offset from an active entry is maintained. This link table continues to be maintained as a valid link table until an occupied head bucket threshold is exceeded or a collision has occurred.

Abstract: The system is capable of obtaining merchandise information from an image on a television screen. The user selects an article or a service of interest and presses a button on a remote control. The information is transmitted to a server, which returns merchandise data relating to the selected article or service and outputs it to the television screen. The system allows the user to select and purchase the article or service and displays information on a merchandise purchase screen.
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and computer-readable media for providing a device handle database in an EFI environment are disclosed. According to one method, a device handle database is created for storing data identifying the protocols that have been installed on one or more device handles. The database includes a sorted array of elements utilized to store protocol data for a family of protocols having the same GUID. Each element in the array comprises a family data structure including a field for storing the GUID for the family along with a field for storing a pointer to a linked list that stores the protocol instance data for each of the protocols in the family. Each node in the linked list is also a member of a linked list for storing protocol data for all of the protocols installed on a given device handle.
Abstract: Data objects can be cross-referenced or linked between multiple systems by normalizing the communications between the multiple systems rather than creating hard code links. The normalization includes creating and inserting data mapping information in messages exchanged by the multiple systems, according to certain embodiments. According to certain other embodiments, an alert mechanism may be included in the message to indicate that mapping information is present in the message.

Abstract: A computer system for locating real estate service providers by navigating an aerial image map of a geographic region. The system determines a search region corresponding to the geographic region by use of geospatial information associated with the geographic region. Once the search region is determined, the system searches a database for real estate service providers that are associated with the search region and that satisfy certain predetermined criteria.

Abstract: A system and methods that enable a user to perform real time search of chat rooms discussion information defined by one or more keywords, provide the user with a list of chat rooms that are currently discussing the information and enable the user to selectively join the discussion in a particular chat room. An aspect of the present invention is to provide a link to each chat room, and thereby enable a user to enter the chat room without having to login. Another aspect of the present invention is to enable a user to submit a query directly from the search engine to a particular participant of a particular chat room. According to such variation of the present invention, the user can chat with a particular participant of a particular chat room, without having to log into that chat room. Optionally, a user can be self registered as a relevant user.
Abstract: Disclosed herein are various exemplary systems and methods for linking entity references to entities and identifying associations between entities. In particular, a method for delinking one or more entity references linked to a same entity is provided, where the one or more entity references having at least one common data field. The method comprises the steps of evaluating at least one actual measurement of the entity based at least in part on one or more field values of the one or more entity references, determining a difference between the at least one actual measurement and at least one predefined measurement associated with the entity and delinking the one or more entity references based at least in part on a comparison of the difference and a defined threshold.
Abstract: Processing resources at a storage system for a database server are utilized to perform aspects of a join operation that would conventionally be performed by the database server. When requesting a range of data units from a storage system, the database server includes join metadata describing aspects of the join operation for which the data is being requested. The join metadata may be, for instance, a bloom filter. The storage system reads the requested data from disk as normal. However, prior to sending the requested data back to the storage system, the storage system analyzes the raw data based on the join metadata, removing a certain amount of data that is guaranteed to be irrelevant to the join operation. The storage system then returns filtered data to the database server. The database system thereby avoids the unnecessary transfer of certain data between the storage system and the database server.
Abstract: This is a method of visually organizing research including: progress, history, decisions, notes and results. This method automatically records the details of a research project as it is happening and intuitively allows the user and/or users to add their own information in the process. Organization may be both automatically and manually conducted. The user's research may be displayed in multiple visual layouts allowing for quick review, organization and accessibility to other users.
