Abstract: According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a method and technique for coordinating write sequences in a data storage system is disclosed. The method includes: responsive to a primary device receiving a request to write to primary storage, receiving from the primary device a request for a sequence number; generating a current sequence number for the write; generating a first identifier indicating an identity of secondary devices writing to secondary storage based on the current sequence number; generating a second identifier indicating an identity of secondary devices writing to secondary storage based on the current sequence number and a previous sequence number; transmitting the current sequence number and the second identifier to the primary device; and transmitting the current sequence number and the first identifier to the secondary devices writing to secondary storage based on the previous sequence number.

Abstract: Content is received from a first user. Then, in response to the receiving, logical relationship information describing logical relationships among a plurality of users is accessed and potential membership of the first user in a first group of users is determined based on the logical relationship information, by selecting the first group from a plurality of possible groups, the selecting being based on scores generated, for each of the plurality of possible groups, by a candidate scorer module. Then, in response to a determination that the first group has a score from the candidate scorer module that does not meet a preset threshold, a new group is created comprising users that are located proximate to each other. The content received from the first user is forwarded to other users of either the first group or the new group, based on the threshold determination.

Abstract: An extensible architecture that enables developers to focus solely on the domain-specific nature of the stream processing algorithm to be implemented. It is positioned as an intermediary component between streaming data feeds and stream algorithms, thereby aggregating demand on data sources and hiding the complexity involved in managing active connections to different data sources. Per-algorithm stream throttling is provided so that individual algorithms do not get overloaded; thus, ensuring that algorithms receive fresh items from the data feeds to which the algorithms subscribe. Feed items can be discarded when an algorithm is not able to process the items in realtime to ensure that feed items are sampled at the fastest processing rate of the algorithm. Thus, a single instance of an algorithm can handle an entire data stream. Moreover, redundancy can be achieved by running the same configuration on multiple machines.

Abstract: Techniques for providing access to data in dynamic shared accounts are disclosed. In one particular exemplary embodiment, the techniques may be realized as a system for providing data in dynamic shared accounts. The system may comprise one or more processors communicatively coupled to a network. The one or more processors may be configured to identify a first user associated with an account, identify a second user to have access to the account associated with the first user in the event the first user is unavailable to access data or perform functions associated with the account, map the second user to the account, and provide the second user access to the account based on the mapping and with access privileges associated with the first user.

Abstract: Modelling a serialized object stream can include receiving a stream of bytes corresponding to the serialized form of a first object, creating an empty initial model for containing a generic object and a generic class, and, upon detection of a class from the stream, constructing a corresponding generic class object in the model using a processor. Upon detection of a new object from the stream, a corresponding generic object in the model can be constructed. Further objects and classes in the model that are associated with the generic objects and classes can be referenced.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and machine readable and executable instructions are provided for business process tracking. Business process tracking can include collecting data from network traffic. Instances of the data can include a number of events, a session identifier, and user information. The data can be filtered to a reduced number of events with a network monitoring engine. A number of business process event identifiers corresponding to the reduced number of events can be defined in a network adaptor. An individual instance of the business process can be distinguished according to the session identifier and the user information. The individual instance of the business process can be tracked independent of a number of applications running on the network.

Abstract: A method and a system are disclosed for processing online joint guarantee. After a server receives an application from a user, the server provides various types of joint guarantee grouping to the user for selection. The server creates a joint guarantee group having a unique ID according to the selection of the user, organizes the information of the joint guarantee group into a data packet and sends the data packet to a bank system to be approved. The method potentially improves the success rate of joint guarantee grouping and removes the geographical limitations. Through the Internet, the method makes it possible to join companies of different geographical locations for online joint guarantee. The method also establishes a complete online alert mechanism, and realizes computerized loan risk control to improve the business credit system.

Abstract: A computer implemented method, a data processing system, and a computer program product deploy application components within a distributed environment. A Runtime management platform opens an application archive for an application to be deployed onto a distributed computing environment. The runtime management platform identifies a set of application components for the application. The runtime management platform identifies at least one set of rules defining application component deployment patterns for the set of application components. The runtime management platform deploys the set of application components to a set of runtime containers according to the at least one set of rules defining the application component deployment patterns.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for testing real-world performance of an system under test are disclosed. The system under test is loaded with interactive transactions. A realistic mix of network traffic is simulated on the communications network. The performance of the system under test under load is tested. Accordingly, a real-world test of the system under test is provided.

Abstract: Calculating a checksum utilizing inactive networking components in a computing system, including: identifying, by a checksum distribution manager, an inactive networking component, wherein the inactive networking component includes a checksum calculation engine for computing a checksum; sending, to the inactive networking component by the checksum distribution manager, metadata describing a block of data to be transmitted by an active networking component; calculating, by the inactive networking component, a checksum for the block of data; transmitting, to the checksum distribution manager from the inactive networking component, the checksum for the block of data; and sending, by the active networking component, a data communications message that includes the block of data and the checksum for the block of data.

Abstract: In particular embodiments, a gaming kiosk may be granted federated access to social networking information of a user, initiated upon activation of a physical access token. A user may initiate a workflow, by activating a physical token, that establishes a federated access session between a gaming kiosk and a social networking system to allow the gaming kiosk to augment the user's experience with social networking information and to publish gaming information to the social networking system.

Abstract: There is provided a method of scheduling requests from a plurality of services to at least one data storage resource. The method comprises receiving, on a computer system, service requests from said plurality of services. The service requests comprise metadata specifying a service ID and a data size of payload data associated with said service request, and at least some of said service IDs have service throughput metadata specifying a required service throughput associated therewith. The method further includes arranging, in a computer system, said requests into FIFO throttled queues based on said service ID and then setting a deadline for processing of a request in a throttled queue. The deadline is selected in dependence upon the size of the request and the required service throughput associated therewith. Then, the deadline of each throttled queue is monitored and, if a request in a throttled queue has reached or exceeded the deadline the request is processed in a data storage resource.

The management agent converts a CIM schema of the CIM agent into a schema at the management agent identifiable by the management agent.

Abstract: Systems, methods and computer program products are provided for reducing overhead in component interactions comprising monitoring interactions between components residing within a domain boundary; storing data indicative of the interactions; analyzing the data to determine whether there is a first component on a first server and a second component on a second server within the domain boundary that are coupled and dislocated that should be co-located; evaluating available server resources; determining whether the first and second components can be co-located based upon the evaluation of available server resources; and conveying a request to co-locate the first and second components if it is determined that the first and second components can be co-located.

Abstract: A system for detecting and extending user engagement with stream content includes an engagement extension module that comprises a context identification module, an abandonment detection module, an engaging post generator and an injection module. The context identification module determines the interactions of the user with content stream and provides the user interaction signals to the abandonment detection module. The abandonment detection module analyzes these signals to determine whether there is a risk that the user may abandon or disengage from interacting with the content stream. The engaging post generator generates messages or other information likely to be interesting to the user and keep them engaged. If the abandonment detection module determines that there is a risk that the user may abandon or disengage from interacting with the content stream, the injection module adds a message or post generated by the engaging post generator into the content stream for the user.

Abstract: Implementations of the present disclosure include generating one or more suggested social circles based on an analysis of past user interactions. The user can accept the suggested social circle and use it to distribute digital content. Generating a suggested social circle can include determining, for each of various sets of contacts, an initial score that represents a strength of the particular user's affinity to the set as a whole based on prior interactions of the particular user with the set, and determining, for each member of each set, an individual score that represents an average strength of the particular user's affinity to the member based on the interactions. An overall score for each set is calculated based on the initial score for the set and the individual scores of each member in the set. Based on the overall scores, at least one of the sets is identified for presentation as a suggested social circle to the particular user.

Abstract: A streaming media system employs dynamic rate adaptation. The method includes a file format compatible with legacy HTTP infrastructure to deliver media over a persistent connection. The method further includes the ability for legacy client media players to dynamically change the encoded delivery rate of the media over a persistent connection. The method provided works transparently with standard HTTP servers, requiring no modification and leverages standard media players embedded in mobile devices for seamless media delivery over wireless networks with high bandwidth fluctuations. A system is also specified for implementing a client and server in accordance with the method.

Abstract: A live streaming system/method provides cross platform live streaming capabilities to mobile devices. A file format compatible with legacy HTTP infrastructure is used to deliver media over a persistent connection. Legacy client media players can dynamically change the encoded rate of the media delivered over a persistent connection. Standard HTTP servers may be used without modification, leveraging standard media players embedded in mobile devices for seamless media delivery over wireless networks with high bandwidth fluctuations.

Abstract: A live streaming system/method provides cross platform live streaming capabilities to mobile devices. The live streaming system includes a live streaming recorder operative to (1) capture a live media stream generated by a live media source and save the captured live media stream as a recorded stream in a recorded media file, and (2) transcode the recorded stream into a plurality of transcoded media files of respective different media encoding formats. The system further includes a stream distribution subsystem operative to generate a plurality of distributed media streams each generated from one or more of the transcoded media files, each distributed media stream being delivered to a corresponding set of the mobile endpoint devices.

Abstract: Systems and methods for end-to-end network-based services metering validation in a network-based services system may support configuring a client usage simulator on one or more computers to simulate client usage of a network-based services system. The system and method may include implementing an external usage meter in the client usage simulator to monitor and record one or more types of usage and send the information to an auditor implemented on one or more computers. An internal meter in the network-based services system may monitor and record usage of the network-based services system by the client usage simulator. The recorded information may be sent to an auditor for comparison with the external records.

Abstract: Methods for providing for secure communications across data networks, including untrusted networks. In one embodiment, the method comprises establishing security associations between devices on the network using a digital certificate and key exchange protocol. In one variant, the digital certificate comprises a public encryption key; the recipient of the certificate authenticates the sender using at least the signature, and then generates a cryptographic element (e.g., key), and initialization vector. The key is encrypted and sent back to the originator, where it is decrypted and used to encrypt datagrams sent between the devices. The initialization vector may be used to initialize the encryption algorithm on the receiving device.

The augmented feed, which contains the third party content and the items in the feed, is provided to user devices.

Abstract: Methods and systems for syndicating media with distributed content rights. A system whereby an alternate website can enable media services for their audience by allowing content submitters to directly contribute media files for distribution to a web based media provider while maintaining member rights and member managed distribution channels is presented. In addition, by the use of metadata the media files can be easily referenced, included, and searched on by the alternate website. A method for syndicating media with distributed content rights is also presented.

Abstract: A system, computer program product and method for dynamically digesting one or more user notifications based at least in part on one or more rules are disclosed. In some implementations, the system includes a notification receiver module, a rule application module and a notification digestion module. The notification receiver module receives notifications including a first notification. The rule application module obtains rules for determining a send condition including a delay time and a maximum delay time, sets the delay time and the max delay time, determines whether another notification is received within the delay time, resets the delay time responsive to another notification being received within the delay time, and repeats the determination and delay time reset until a send condition occurs. The notification digestion module, responsive to the send condition occurring, digests the notification(s) received prior to the send condition and sends a digested notification to the user.

In particular, the invention provides many-to-one data mirroring, including mirroring from local servers running the same or different operating systems and/or file systems at two or more geographically dispersed locations. The invention also provides one-to-many data mirroring, mirroring with or without a dedicated private telecommunications link, and mirroring with or without a dedicated server or another server at the destination(s) to assist the remote mirroring unit(s). In addition, the invention provides flexibility by permitting the use of various combinations of one or more external storage units and/or RAID units to hold mirrored data. Spoofing, SCSI and other bus emulations, and further tools and techniques are used in various embodiments of the invention.

Abstract: In a Ternary Content Addressable Memory (TCAM) optimized for network packet classification, network operation rules are preprocessed into sub-lists in accordance with a decision tree based packet classification algorithm. The decision tree is encoded as a lookup memory, which is accessed with a predetermined base address of higher order address bits combined with lower order address bits obtained from specific bit positions from a received network packet. Depending on the nodes traversed in the decision tree, different base addresses and values from different bit positions of the packet are used until a sub-list of potential rules is identified. A bitwise comparison of values of each rule against the packet is then executed, the matching rule with the highest precedence is returned as the matching table entry and the configured value associated with the entry is prepended to the packet.
