The work order frontend is further configured to transmit, to a global-level manager, a work order. The global-level manager is configured to access the work order. The global-level manager is further configured to partition the one or more input files into multiple shards, the work order into multiple jobs, each job being associated with one or more of the multiple shards and the executable file. The global-level manager is further configured to distribute the jobs among a plurality of clusters.

Abstract: Systems and methods for priority inbox notifications and synchronization are disclosed. In some embodiments, a method includes, at a computer system, obtaining message information from a server system. The message information represents a set of messages and an importance score associated with each message in the set of messages. The importance score is generated based at least in part on a global importance prediction model and a user importance prediction model. A new mail notification is presented when a determination is made that the set of messages include one or more unread priority messages. The priority messages comprise messages with which the associated importance score satisfy one or more predefined message importance criteria: Optionally, presentation of a new mail notification is foregone when there is a determination that the set of messages do not include any unread priority messages.

Abstract: A computer implemented method, a tangible computer medium, and a data processing system proactively share current and upcoming schedule information. When the data processing system detects an outgoing e-mail from an e-mail client; a calendar entry is retrieved from a calendar application. The calendar entry indicates an availability of a user of the e-mail client. The calendar entry is attached to the outgoing e-mail, and the e-mail client then sends the outgoing e-mail.

Abstract: A network based healthcare management system is provided. The system includes a plurality of client workstations and a plurality of healthspace service processors. The healthspace service processors access at least one database remotely disposed relative to the client workstations with the healthspace service processors providing access to predetermined healthspace resources. The system further includes a healthspace service interface unit operably coupled to the client workstations and healthspace service processors to selectively actuate at least one of the healthspace service processors responsive to the client workstations. The healthspace service interface unit including an efficiency module which adaptively maintains a plurality of parametric indicia with respect to optimum healthspace resource utilization.

Abstract: Methods and systems to minimize the number of messages transmitted between a client and a server in a client-server network. The messages may be error messages, and may be associated with a log such as an error log. The client requests permission of the server to transmit a message(s) to the server. Upon receipt of the request, the server provides the client with a filter, which may include a filter table with a filter parameter(s). The server may provide the filter in real time and/or without the client or server having to go off-line. The client uses the filter to filter at least a selected message from the message(s). Once the client has filtered the selected message the client transmits the selected message and/or the associated log of the selected message to the server.

Abstract: A method for a computer system includes receiving a first user communication, determining a first group of users, determining a target number of users, determining whether the first group of users includes the target number of users, and if not, providing the communication to the first group of users, determining a hierarchal mapping of groups of users in response to user memberships, determining a second group of users from the hierarchal mapping, determining a plurality of social network relationship factors for the second group of users with respect to the first user, and providing the communication to at least a subset of users in the second group of users in response to the first plurality of social network relationship factors.

Abstract: Organizing messages received and transmitted over a network is described. In one aspect, a method includes tracking where a user is gazing as the user is composing an outgoing message on a first computer system. During a composition time period in which the user is composing the message, a relevance rating for one or more of a plurality of gaze areas is determined. The relevance rating of a gaze area is based on a number of times the user's gaze dwells on the displayed message associated with the gaze area after the user's gaze is directed away from the displayed message. The method further includes identifying at least one displayed message that is related to the outgoing message based on at least one of the relevance ratings, and associating an identifier for at least one of the at least one related message with the outgoing message.

Abstract: An e-mail filter may be associated with a schedule defining a recurrent active time period. As such, some e-mail filters may be active at specific times of day and on specific days of the week and inactive the rest of the time. Before applying any filters, the current time is determined and it is determined which filters are active. The determination of which filters are active is based on the current time being within the active time period.

Abstract: A communication system and method for organization, preparation and viewing of emails, including a graphical user interface operating on a display of a computing device. The graphical user interface includes: a writing interface with writing functions; a reading interface with a plurality of reading functions; and an organizing interface with a plurality of organizing functions. The writing functions including a recipient action identifier indicating what is expected of the recipient with regard to the sent email, what folder the writer has designated the email is to be stored in on the recipient computing device, a read date identifying a date on which the writer wishes the recipient to read the email, and a writing block for text associated with a message being sent in accordance with the email. The recipient action identifier and the read date are appended to the email and by a computer system of a recipient upon receipt of the email by the recipient.

Abstract: Methods and systems for receiving, mapping and structuring data from disparate systems in a healthcare environment are described. An example computer-implemented method of receiving data input associated with different versions of healthcare message structures includes receiving first data in a first format through a single service interface. One or more fields of the first data is not supported by at least one of the different versions of the healthcare message structures. The example method also includes receiving second data in a second format through the single service interface. One or more fields of the second data is not supported by at least one of the different versions of the healthcare message structures. The single service interface enables the receipt of the first data and the second data to minimize a number of interface end points.

Abstract: Methods and systems of conducting co-browsing sessions may provide for detecting a proximity event between a first device and a second device, and initiating a co-browsing session between the first device and the second device based on the proximity event. In one example, the proximity event is a physical bump between the first and second devices.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for wireless systems provide a mechanism to enhance the communication capabilities of wireless users. In an embodiment, data associated with information acquired in wireless entities is synced among the wireless entities based on a privacy status and verification of identities corresponding to the privacy status. The wireless entities include a wireless server and a set of mobile wireless clients of the wireless server. In an embodiment, a mobile wireless client is configured to browse files in a wireless server. In an embodiment, a wireless server is configured to provide views of its file content to a mobile wireless client authorized to view the file content of the wireless server.

Abstract: A collaboration system is described for sharing files. The collaboration system operates by receiving an Email message from a sender, the Email message specifying an attachment item (such as a file) and one or more recipients. The Email message also specifies a sender code assigned to the sender for the particular attachment item. The collaboration system stores the attachment item and then generates a recipient-specific code associated with each recipient who is to receive the Email message. The collaboration system then sends a recipient-tailored Email message to each recipient. Each recipient-tailored Email message contains Email content provided by the original Email message along with a recipient-specific code associated with the recipient. Each recipient can access the attachment item via its recipient-specific code, which constitutes a secure access key.

Abstract: An exemplary method is implemented by end-user communication devices for processing the receipt of an HTTP message wherein a received HTTP message comprises a digital packet having a header and a user data segment. The user data segment contains a user message and an acknowledgement command where the acknowledgement command conveys a request from an originating device to acknowledge receipt of the subject HTTP message. The received user message is prevented from being displayed on a screen of the first end-user communication device of content until input is entered authorizing a reply to the acknowledgement request. Upon receiving the authorization: a reply HTTP message with an acknowledgement is automatically generated by the first end-user communication device and transmitted to the originating device; the content of the message is displayed.

Abstract: In certain embodiments, a method for managing delivery of electronic messages includes receiving an electronic message, the electronic message having an intended recipient, and analyzing the electronic message to determine a priority for the electronic message. The method further includes determining, based on the determined priority for the electronic message; whether to deliver the electronic message to the intended recipient at the current time. If it is determined, based on the determined priority for the electronic message, that the electronic message should be delivered to the intended recipient at the current time, delivery of the electronic message to the intended recipient is initiated.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses that generate a subtopic identifier identifying a client application within a client device that can support multiple users are described. The client application may be associated with a server application hosted in one or more application servers. Notification services may be registered with the application servers from the client application to forward identifiers associated with the client application for one of the multiple users to the server application to enable the server application to push notification messages to the client device selectively for the client application for that user. When receiving a notification message from the application server, the notification message may be examined to forward the notification message directly to the client application for that user without invoking other applications in the client device if the notification message carries a subtopic identifier of the client application.

Abstract: A method for the operation of network management systems, according to which values of attributes relating to an element are presented to a first manager and values of attributes relating to an element, which correspond to the values of the first manager, are presented to a second manager. The first and second manager determine the same identification information according to the same rule and using at least some of the values as well as store said identification information independently from a modification of the values of attributes relating to the respective element. The identification information is used during communication between the first manager and the second manager for identifying the element.

Abstract: A system or device can be configured with a first interface that is configured and arranged to provide content to a remote web-browser. This first interface can be provided by a computer server designed to implement a website. A second interface is configured and arranged to communicate content of an audio telephone calls with a remote audio-enabled device. This second interface can also communicate video content, text content, document sharing content and/or desktop sharing content. A processing circuit is configured and arranged to establish an audio telephone call between the remote web-browser and the remote audio-enabled device. The processing circuit can also facilitate communications with social networks by passing a general status message to a plurality of interface modules, each interface module designed to interface with a corresponding and respective social network.

Abstract: An e-mail processing system includes: a non-persistent or random memory storing a message queue map having a plurality of message queues, an input handler, and an output handler. Each message queue includes a plurality of data nodes, and each data node represents one message intended for delivery to a respective domain. The input handler comprises instructions for: (i) obtaining an incoming first e-mail, (ii) digesting the incoming first e-mail into a first data node representing the incoming first e-mail, and (iii) analyzing the first data node to determine a first message queue in the number of message queues based at least on the destination domain of the first data node, (iv) appending the first data node to the plurality of data nodes in the first message queue. The output handler processes a data node in a message queue in the message queue map to send e-mail to an intended recipient.

Abstract: A communication system can create a conversation identifier (ID) for a logical IM conversation. The conversation ID can identify messages that are associated with the same IM conversation. The associated IM messages can be stored in an archive for later use. When a SIP session ends but an IM conversation continues, a SIP server can rebuild the IM conversation with messages retrieved with the conversation ID. Further, an IM conversation can be restarted on a different IM client by retrieving messages from the archive associated with the previously established conversation ID. Thus, the conversation ID ensures that an IM conversation does not end due to system changes or reconfigurations in IM clients.

The server determines that an acknowledgement is received from each of the plurality of clients. The server halts resending of consolidated notifications, responsive to determining that an acknowledgement is received from the each of the plurality of clients.

The actions may include preventing the message notifications from being manifested (e.g., displayed on a screen). The actions may be specified by profiles. The computer system may activate and deactivate profiles. For example, activating a first profile may cause a second profile to be deactivated. When a message notification is received, the computer system may perform an action specified by an active profile but not perform an action specified by an inactive profile.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for incorporating a third user into an instant message (IM) session. In one embodiment, an IM server receives a first IM from a first user directed toward a second user. The IM server makes a determination that the second user is not available to respond to the first IM. In response to the determination, the IM server identifies a third user to whom the first IM is to be forwarded, and automatically forwards the first IM to the third user. In another embodiment, the IM server receives a transfer request from the second user to transfer the IM session from the second user to the third user. The IM server automatically determines a subset portion of a plurality of IMs communicated between the first user and the second user, and provides the transfer request and the subset portion to the third user.

Abstract: A technique for selecting a network node from a plurality of nodes employing anycast addressing based on a priority. The plurality of nodes is configured with an anycast address. At each node, the anycast address is associated with a unique priority value that represents a priority associated with the node. Traffic destined for the anycast address is forwarded to the node whose priority value indicates the highest priority. If the node becomes unavailable, traffic destined for the anycast address is forwarded to a node whose priority value indicates the next highest priority, and so on.

Abstract: A system and method for generating privacy-enhanced aggregate statistics within a social network system is provided. Data is collected and processed to gather information to generate the aggregate statistics. A threshold is assigned. The threshold includes a criterion used in making a determination on what aggregate statistic will be generated. In some embodiments, the threshold is a numerical value. In some embodiments, the numerical value, or quantitative data is then translated into qualitative descriptors. In some embodiments, noise is then added to randomize the assigned threshold. In other embodiments, noise is added to the collected data. In some embodiments, checks to guard against attacks from adversarial users are performed. Examples of indications of adversarial behavior include, but are not limited to, manipulation of profiles, continuous manipulation of affinity groups, and manipulation of preferences for one or more users. The threshold is applied and aggregate statistics are generated.

According to the message processing method, apparatus, and system in the embodiments of the present invention, a DNS server is selected from a set of DNS servers with a highest priority in a DNS server priority list, which can reduce a domain name resolution time and avoid a domain name resolution failure.

Each reply grouping has one or more child reply messages depending from a common parent message. The child reply messages within each reply grouping are ordered in chronological order based on the time of each of the one or more child reply messages was received or sent. The reply groupings are hierarchically ordering based on a relationship between the reply grouping and its parent message. A single display allows a user to view the message thread and the content of all of the messages in accordance with the hierarchical ordering.

Abstract: A remote notification method is applicable to a remote notification method, where a server, through the Internet, receives user information sent by an application program executed in a first communication device, the server according to the user information sets a remote notification mode. When the server receives a startup command sent by a terminal device, the server, through the Internet, receives a message sent by the application program and sends out the message according to the remote notification mode. Therefore, a user can change the notification mode according to real usage requirements and can obtain the message received by the first communication device when not being able to directly operate the first communication device.

Abstract: A method of recording an audio visual asset using a predetermined script is disclosed. The audio visual asset may be partitioned into multiple audio visual segments and the audio visual segments may be edited by the application of a naming paradigm and/or a data tagging system. The audio visual segments may then be overlaid with audio visual variables. The audio visual segments may be compiled by uploading the audio visual segments into a multimedia synthesis compiler such that a variable final message compilation may be generated. A user may be messaged by selecting a message type from the variable final message compilation generated from the audio visual segments.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to message response management and provide a method, system and computer program product for motivating and de-motivating message responses. In one embodiment of the invention, a message reply motivation and de-motivation method can be provided. The method can include composing a message, addressing the message to at least one addressee, associating a reply preference specifying whether or not a recipient is to reply to the message, and forwarding the reply preference to the addressee. Upon receipt, the message can be displayed in a message viewer, and any reply preference for the message can be analyzed to determine if the reply preference specifies whether or not to reply to the message. Thereafter, the reply preference can be applied in the message viewer.

Abstract: An email update system dynamically updates the content of an email when the originator of an email has sent the email, and the originator later determines that the email requires editing. The updating may take place transparent to the recipient and without the introduction of duplicative content into the recipient's email program. The email update system comprises a delta engine program and a delta temporary storage in a sender's computer, a queue manager program and an intermediate email queue in a server computer, and a recipient email retrieval program in a recipient's computer.

Abstract: Methods for integrating mobile electronic devices with computational methods for assigning priorities to documents are disclosed. In one embodiment, a computer-implemented method first receives a new document such as an electronic mail message. The method assigns a priority to the document, based on a text classifier such as a Bayesian classifier or a support-vector machine classifier. The method then alerts a user on an electronic device, such as a pager or a cellular phone, based on an alert criteria that can be made sensitive to information about the location, inferred task, and focus of attention of the user. Such information can be inferred under uncertainty or can be accessed directly from online information sources. One embodiment makes use of information from an online calendar to control the criteria used to make decisions about relaying information to a mobile device.

Abstract: In an Internet facsimile apparatus, it is an object of the invention to provide means for notifying the user of details of a message disposition notification situation (MDN) of a transmission image. When E-mail data is sent, an MDN for E-mail to be sent is requested and communication management information of the sent E-mail is updated on the basis of a reception result of reply E-mail responsive to the MDN request.

Abstract: A single device that receives communications intended for a user having multiple contact addresses associated with different user roles is provided. The single device can receive communications intended for multiple telephone numbers, email aliases, screen names, aliases, other means of contact, or combinations thereof. Since a user engaged in a particular role might not desire to be interrupted with communications intended for a different role, the communications for the other roles can be maintained until the user is actively engaged in the role for which the communication was intended. In situations where there is an important communication sent to a non-active role, selective convergence between roles is initiated and the important communication is presented to the user.

In one embodiment, M-SPAM Restrictor systems implement a live application at a mobile network element that processes message service, whereby a message rate limit is set on the element, and a message source may be blocked from further messaging activity if the rate of message activity exceeds the rate limit, until the offending source has resolved the issue with the service provider (carrier).

Abstract: A method is described for providing voice conferencing between a plurality of users over a communications network, the plurality of users comprising a host user and a plurality of participant users. The method comprises the host user initiating a voice conference using a host user terminal connected to the communications network. The plurality of users join the voice conference. Each of the plurality of users joins the conference by using a client executed at their respective user terminals, wherein on joining the voice conference the user terminal of each of the plurality of participant users displays a participant user interface and the user terminal of the host displays a host user interface. At least one of the plurality of participant users activates a request control on the participant user interface. The client transmits via the communication network a request to the host user to speak in the voice conference in response to the activation of the request control.

Abstract: Scalable systems and methods for near real time processing of a substantial volume of event data streams are disclosed. A concurrent throughput receiver is coupled to an input of a processor for receiving the substantial volume of event data streams, and implementing substantially concurrent throughput of the substantial volume of event data streams. The systems and methods may provide for real time application monitoring, such as by aggregating information to a distributed cache from a plurality of entities, where the entities are structured in a nodal hierarchy, and summarizing to a summary database the information from the nodal hierarchy into summary level statistics for each of the nodes of the nodal hierarchy.
