Abstract: Some embodiments provide different frameworks that implement conflict avoidance systems and methods for ensuring uniqueness in identifying assets for different customers that are deployed to server capacity of one or more distributed platforms participating in a federation. Specifically, different frameworks are provided whereby the distributed platforms authorize use of a domain before configuring the domain to identify assets of a customer. A method performed in one such framework includes receiving a domain that is specified for identifying assets of a first customer belonging to a first distributed platform of the federation. The method determines whether the domain conflicts with a domain that is configured by a second distributed platform of the federation. The method then communicates with the first distributed platform (i) to configure the received domain when there is no conflict and (ii) to prevent the first distributed platform from configuring the received domain when there is a conflict.

Abstract: Computer software, systems and methods preventing automatic deductions/credits to a User's financial account from being interrupted when a User changes the account. A User inputs information for one or more of their financial accounts into a record stored on a server database that is accessible from the User's electronic communications device. When the User changes information within the System database for one of their financial accounts, the System will automatically or periodically perform updates of the information on a Third Party database; or the Third Party server will request the updated information, wherein the Third Party is authorized to electronically debit or credit the account. Therefore, the User is not required to individually contact each Third Party with their updated account information, such as for monthly membership deductions, direct deposit of paychecks and retirement account contributions, and stored credit cards for online shopping.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method is performed by a client machine to establish communication with a data server. The client machine sends a first communication request to a directory server having information concerning available data servers that provide specific data to the client machine. The client machine further determines whether a first socket is established to allow communication with the directory server within a first predetermined period of time. When the first socket is established, the client machine receives the information concerning the available data servers from the directory server and establishes a target socket with a data server selected from the available data servers for receiving the specific data. However, when the first socket is not established, the client machine sends more communication requests to secondary servers according to a predetermined order, until the client machine receives the information concerning the available data servers or the specific data.

Abstract: A method for transmitting video streams from a server to a media device includes selecting by the server first encoding parameters for a first set of video streams based on a first current bandwidth capacity for a network and based on a first current window size of a receive buffer of the media device, and transmitting the first set of video streams from the server to the media device. The method includes selecting by the server second encoding parameters for a second set of video streams based on a second current bandwidth capacity for the network based on a second current window size of the buffer. The first current bandwidth capacity is different from the second current bandwidth capacity or the first window size is different from the second current window size. The method includes transmitting the second set of video streams from the server to the media device.

Abstract: Systems and methods can use client-side video buffer occupancy for enhanced quality of experience in a communication network. The systems and methods provided herein can drive changes in the communication system using control responses. Example control responses include responses for scheduling of packets under capacity constrained conditions. An access node, such as a base station, may transmit video from a server to a client in a user device. The access node can estimate client-side video buffer occupancy and predict video playback stalls. The client-side video buffer occupancy can be estimated by emulating behavior of the client. The buffer occupancy can be used to enhance quality of experience for the user. For example, when the buffer occupancy is low, the access node may increase scheduling priority of packets conveying the video.

Abstract: A method is provided for sharing files on the Internet. The method includes a relay server receiving an upload request sent from a first terminal, and the upload request contains file information of two or more files. The method also includes the relay server generating an extraction code based on the file information of two or more files, storing the file information of two or more files and the corresponding extraction code, and sending the extraction code to the first terminal. Further, the method includes the relay server receiving the two or more files from the first terminal after the first terminal receives the extraction code and uploads the two or more files to the relay server, and uploading the two or more files to a file server.

Abstract: A method for establishing a software-defined network attachable storage system includes establishing first and second sets of logical computer systems (which may be virtual computer systems) as namespace servers and dataspace servers respectively. Each namespace server is configured: (a) to store, in its memory, filesystem metadata, the metadata including file and directory names and information on where user data associated with the file and directory names resides, and to store in its storage system a dynamically updated copy of the filesystem metadata; and (b) to process storage system pathname requests, for a predetermined subset of the namespace, from at least one requesting client computer and to return in response to each request a handle for use by the requesting client computer; and (ii) each dataspace server is configured to store and retrieve user data in its storage system based on handles determined by the namespace servers.

Abstract: Distributed computing is disclosed in which a client device accesses a service announcement for a broadcast service in order to retrieve transport parameters describing a data transmission service. The client device obtains a refresh rate from the service description file, which is separate from the data transmission service, wherein the refresh rate relates to a frequency at which the data transmission service updates data in a data transmission provided by the data transmission service. The client device uses the transport parameters to access the data transmission to receive the data. Once the data is received, the client device will delay any subsequent access to the data transmission to get updated data for a delay time based at least in part on the refresh rate.

Abstract: There are provided methods and systems to retrieve search result information and digital content. The system receives input information identifying a plurality of data sources from which to retrieve digital content. Next the system retrieves search result information, over the network, from the plurality of data sources based on the input information. Next the system retrieves the digital content, over the network, from at least one of the data sources based on the search result information. Finally, the system communicates digital content to a client machine.

Abstract: In a system in which documents are generated dynamically in response to user requests, historical data is collected regarding data retrieval subtasks, such as service requests, that are performed to generate such documents. This data is used to predict the specific subtasks that will be performed to respond to specific document requests, such that these subtasks may be initiated preemptively at or near the outset of the associated document generation task. In one embodiment, the historical data is included within, or is used to generate, a mapping table that maps document generation tasks (which may correspond to specific URLs) to the data retrieval subtasks that are frequently performed within such tasks.

Abstract: Examples of systems and methods are provided for handling remote drawing commands. A system may comprise a buffer module configured to receive, at the system from a remote server system over a remote access connection between the system and the remote server system during a remote connection session, remote drawing commands, according to a drawing command rate, of a remote application running on the remote server system. The buffer module may be configured to store the remote drawing commands. The system may comprise a timer module configured to facilitate sending at least some of the remote drawing commands in the buffer module to a graphics module according to a refresh rate that is less than the drawing command rate. The timer module may be application agnostic.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method, system, and computer program product for detecting and monitoring server side state during the scanning of a web application. The method includes: monitoring executed code of the web application while scanning the web application; retrieving code coverage information from the monitoring of the executed code and retrieving scanning information from the scanning of the web application; correlating the code coverage information with the scanning information; and determining a change in the server side state based on the correlation. The system includes one or more devices that executes the steps of the method. Abstract: A host Web page includes an evolving interactive dialog box wherein an Internet user may enter user data to be processed. When the user completes entering user data in a first revolution of the interactive dialog box, the first revolution is replaced with a second revolution of the evolving interactive dialog box without disturbing or affecting any other part of the host Web page being displayed. Beneficially, the first and second revolutions may be communicated to a user computer together with and at a same time as the host Web page. Also, the second revolution may include a variety of data which is selected or customized to match the user data submitted in the first revolution. Each revolution of the evolving interactive dialog box may be comprised of any combination of general textual data entry fields, category (pull-down) menus, contact information data entry fields, and opt-in/opt-out buttons.

Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for measuring social media. A social media measurement tool is configured to receive or otherwise determine a keyword for evaluation. The tool identifies directly relevant content on one or more social media platforms, where the directly relevant content includes the received keyword. The tool then identifies relevant downstream content on the one or more social media platforms by identifying content that is relevant to the directly relevant content. The system uses the identified content to calculate respective values for one or more metrics for the keyword.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention include methods and systems for domain name system (DNS) pre-caching. A method for DNS pre-caching is provided. The method includes receiving uniform resource locator (URL) hostnames for DNS pre-fetch resolution prior to a user hostname request for any of the URL hostnames. The method also includes making a DNS lookup call for at least one of the URL hostnames that are not cached by a DNS cache prior to the user hostname request. The method further includes discarding at least one IP address provided by a DNS resolver for the URL hostnames, wherein a resolution result for at least one of the URL hostnames is cached in the DNS cache in preparation for the user hostname request. A system for DNS pre-caching is provided. The system includes a renderer, an asynchronous DNS pre-fetcher and a hostname table.

Abstract: A system and method for pushing information to a mobile device are disclosed herein. A triggering event is detected, and information relevant to the detected trigger event is determined. The information is located in one of a plurality of memory location channels, wherein the information is stored in the one of the plurality of memory location channels based on a category of the information matching a pre-defined category of the one of the plurality of memory location channels. When the information relevant to the detected triggering event comprises content information, a meta tag is inserted to the content information. The meta tag relates to display of specific one or more advertisements with the content information. The content information that includes the meta tag is transmitted to the mobile device.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a Remote Subscriber Identification (RSID) system with a communication device in communication with a remote database capable of seamlessly storing, linking, and transferring mobile data to a user's communication device. The communication device receives a biometric information of a subscriber and accesses a subset of the mobile information by authenticating the user in the remote database and uses the subset of mobile information for communication with a third-party associated with at least one item of the subset of the mobile information. The user's data can be used on any communication device that capable of recognizing personal identifying information, transmitting this information to the remote database, accessing the user's subscriber specification information and any subscriber personalized information, and transmitting it to the user's communication device, enabling the user to use this information with the communication device.

Abstract: A method for generating a model of a physical entity, in particular the earth, using one or more hierarchically organized multi-resolutional data trees T, each data tree including a plurality of nodes Nk, each node having a grid with a fixed number of points, wherein each node can store an arbitrary number of data items, each holding scalar field values for each point in the grid, the method including the steps of creating a geometry using one or more data trees; and creating an associated overlay using one or more data trees, wherein at least one of the geometry and overlay includes a formula to be applied to data within one or more data trees. This enables manipulation of the data within the data trees during rendering and increases the adaptability of the model without an increase in the required memory space. In preferred embodiments the nodes of the data trees include time dependent geo-references to allow the data trees to be time rotated.

Abstract: A local application streaming proxy can create a virtual image of storage media, which allows cloud operators to rapidly deliver applications, or deliver any operating system remotely, while providing better security, network utilization, low power requirements, and consistent performance for streamed applications and operating systems. A station using its WiFi/LAN provides QoS guarantees (or priority) for application streaming network communications to create a consistent user experience regardless of other application bandwidth utilization. “HTTP demand paging” is also possible.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media that may be used to present messages posted on messaging networks to a user in a time-shifted manner are provided. One method includes transmitting a request to a server to provide messages posted by users of one or more messaging services. Each of the messages has a timestamp associated therewith that falls within a time range associated with the request. The timestamp is based on a time at which the message was originally posted. The method further includes receiving the messages from the server. The method further includes correlating, for each of the messages, the time at which the message was originally posted with a time in the time range associated with the request. The times are correlated based on the timestamp of the respective message. The method further includes transmitting, to one or more display devices, display data representing the messages.

Abstract: Network automation systems, and methods of implementing planned changes to a network infrastructure are provided. A network automation system includes software configured to model a manual change of the planned change and identify a conflict between the manual change and another change of the planned change. The system also includes a policy module configured to verify that the changes of the planned change conform to a policy. The system further includes a device proxy configured to allow a user to implement the manual change. An exemplary method for implementing the planned changes includes modeling a manual change of the planned change, checking for a conflict between the manual change and another change, and implementing the planned change. The method can also include verifying that the manual change complies with a policy.

Abstract: The present invention provides an NAT (Network Address Translator) traversal method in Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) for solving the problems of SIP in Internet phone (VoIP) under current Internet environment. In other words, the present invention solves the SIP problems caused by NAT (Network Address Translator) that P2P (Peer to Peer) transmission cannot traverse the NAT firewall directly. The major content of the present invention is that the computer conducts multiple registrations before issuing an Invite message in order to detect the rule of the NAT server to assign port number and IP address. Additional commands or parameters beyond the SIP standard are not required for the NAT traversal function. Hence, the capability of SIP for a NAT traversal function is provided without no additional commands or parameters.

Abstract: An improved system and method for web destination profiling for online population-targeted advertising is provided. A web destination profiler may be provided for generating web destination profiles. Traffic may be analyzed at a particular web destination in order to understand the population visiting the web destination. The analysis of user traffic, including differentiated clickstream data, may be applied for determining known characteristics of a web destination profile. Moreover, unknown characteristics of a web destination profile may be determined using a variety of techniques including inferring characteristics by modeling traffic flow through other web destinations, estimating characteristics from other web destination profiles by predicting traffic flow through other web destinations, propagating characteristics to a web destination profile by smoothing a joint distribution of characteristics of other web destination profiles, and so forth.

Abstract: Disclosed is a Social-Topical Adaptive Networking (STAN) system that can inform users of cross-correlations between currently focused-upon topic or other nodes in a corresponding topic or other data-objects organizing space maintained by the system and various social entities monitored by the system. More specifically, one of the cross-correlations may be as between the top N now-hottest topics being focused-upon by a first social entity and the amounts of focus ‘heat’ that other social entities (e.g., friends and family) are casting on the same topics (or other subregions of other cognitive attention receiving spaces) in a relevant time period.

Abstract: Building a kernel hook module (KHM) on a build machine in an automated manner uses a script file to control the process. A user requests a KHM for a particular Linux kernel of a Linux distribution. The build machine is rebooted if necessary to run the target Linux distribution. Kernel source files for the Linux distribution are loaded and installed on the build machine. Various parameters are set and source code representing the functionality of the KHM (or that of a related software product) are loaded onto the build machine. The KHM is then built automatically under direction of the script file. A control machine receives the user request for a particular KHM over the Internet and directs operation of the build machine. A test machine tests the KHM once built. The KHM works in conjunction with anti-virus software or other software.

Abstract: Methods and systems for efficient API integrated login in a multi-tenant database environment and for decreasing latency delays during an API login request authentication including receiving a plurality of API login requests at a load balancer of a datacenter, where each of the plurality of API login requests specify a user identifier (userID) and/or an organizational identifier (orgID), fanning the plurality of API login requests across a plurality of redundant instances executing within the datacenter, assigning each API login request to one of the plurality of redundant instances for authentication, and for each of the respective plurality of API login requests, performing a recursive query algorithm at the assigned redundant instance, at one or more recursive redundant instances within the datacenter, and at a remote recursive redundant instance executing in a second datacenter, as necessary, until the login request is authenticated or determined to be invalid.

The offerings may also be identified by their source, and this information can be used with the primary/secondary metagenre/sub-genre data to prepare a listing of recommended files. The listing may be generated by first generating three match listings: 1) a strong genre match listing identifying those offerings that match two user preferred metagenres; 2) a genre/style match listing identifying those offerings whose primary metagenre and corresponding sub-genre are preferred by the user; and 3) a weak genre match listing identifying those offerings whose primary metagenre matches a user preference, but whose secondary metagenre does not.
