Abstract: A method, system and apparatus for monitoring a BIOS booting process of a server. The method includes: detecting whether a PCH in a server starts to transmit data to a BMC; when the PCH starts to transmit data to the BMC, acquiring data from an IO transmission line between the PCH and the BMC and parsing same, and determining whether the parsed data includes process data which represents a BIOS booting process of the server; and when the parsed data includes the process data, displaying the process data. It can be seen that a user may directly and quickly determine the current booting process of a BIOS by means of displayed information, such that quick trouble locating of a server during a BIOS booting process is facilitated.

Abstract: An example of an apparatus including a touchscreen device to receive input and selectively transmit the input. The apparatus further includes a rendering engine to render output to a region of the touchscreen device. The output corresponds to boundaries of the region of the touchscreen device, wherein the touchscreen device uses the boundaries and a location of the input to determine whether to transmit the input. The apparatus also includes a processor to receive the input transmitted from the touchscreen device.

Abstract: A microcode update system includes at least one memory device having a code region and a data region, and a microcode update engine that receives a microcode update, and writes the microcode update to the data region of the at least one memory device. Subsequent to writing the microcode update to the data region of the at least one memory device, the microcode update engine utilizes initialization code in the code region of the at least one memory device to perform initialization operations. During a microcode update portion of the initialization operations, the microcode update engine identifies the microcode update in the data region of the at least one memory device, and performs microcode update operations using the microcode update in the data region of the at least one memory device.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for application interface management are provided. One of the methods may include: obtaining interface layout parameters from an interface layout server. The interface layout parameters may include layout parameters of one or more functional areas and layout parameters of one or more functional icons. The method may also include generating an application interface according to the obtained layout parameters of functional areas and obtained layout parameters of functional icons; in response to a change operation by a user on the application interface, changing an interface layout of the application interface; and storing layout parameters of one or more functional areas and layout parameters of one or more functional icons corresponding to the changed application interface, to the interface layout server. Each functional area may include one or more functional icons.

Abstract: A computing device and computer automated method for controlling the display of application windows on a computer screen. A background process monitors a user's interaction with applications running on the computing device. The background process logs aspects of the user's interaction with applications, each application being associated with a window. The log is analyzed to detect the presence of a pattern in the user's interaction between any two applications, in particular repeated switching between two applications. If the pattern is detected, then the windows are reconfigured to present one of the windows as a picture-in-picture window within the other window. The automated switching to the picture-in-picture display of the two application windows ensures both windows are visible at the same time without the user having to reconfigure the windows manually.

Abstract: A display control method, a device thereof, and an electronic apparatus are disclosed. The display control method includes obtaining an input operation for a first folder icon in an interactive interface currently displayed on a display screen of an electronic apparatus; generating a call instruction in response to the input operation, the call instruction being used for starting a folder manager; starting the folder manager in response to the call instruction; obtaining all folders on the electronic apparatus under the folder manager; putting all the folders in an unfolded state; and displaying the folders in the unfolded state by the display screen in a queue manner.

Abstract: An apparatus, method, and computer program product for: receiving an indication of a lock signal at a first point in time, receiving an indication of an unlock signal at a second point in time, determining a lock period based on the first point in time and the second point in time, and, in dependence on the determined lock period, selecting a user interface view for displaying upon unlocking a device, wherein the unlocking is performed in response to the received indication of the unlock signal.

Abstract: Methods and devices for selectively presenting a user interface or “desktop” across two devices are provided. More particularly, a unified desktop is presented across a device and a computer system that comprise a unified system. The unified desktop acts as a single user interface that presents data and receives user interaction in a seamless environment that emulates a personal computing environment. To function within the personal computing environment, the unified desktop includes a process for docking and undocking the device with the computer system. The unified desktop presents a new user interface to allow access to functions of the unified desktop.

Abstract: Disclosed is an electronic device and method for reducing burn-in on a display. The electronic device may include a display and a processor. The processor implements the method, including controlling the display to display a background screen and one or more windows on the background screen, confirming a location of a first window when the first window is selected by a user from among the one or more windows, generating a blurred window border to be applied to the first window based on the selection of the first window, and controlling the display to display the blurred window border along a boundary of the first window.

Abstract: The present invention provides a device for conducting dynamic analysis of embedded software of a vehicle. More particularly, it relates to a device for dynamically analyzing embedded software of the vehicle to detect real time errors of embedded software based on the analysis. More specifically, a data communication unit communicates data in real time with an electronic unit of the vehicle; and a control unit that monitors the condition of one or more hardware components which are used by embedded software of an electric field based on the data received through the data communication unit, and thereby outputs the monitored result accordingly.

Abstract: An error in a web page displayed on a device is detected. The error is assigned to a bucket to indicate a type of the error, and a record describing the current state of the device is generated. Both an indication of the bucket and the record describing the current state of the device are then sent to a server. At the server, error information including error records and bucket identifiers are received from multiple devices. Each error record describes a current state of one of the multiple devices at a time when an error in a web page displayed on the one device was detected. Each bucket identifier corresponds to one of the error records and describes a type of the error associated with that error record. The error records are grouped into multiple baskets based at least in part on the current state information in the error records.

Abstract: Results of field testing of portions of a distributed system such as a Broadband Communications System are communicated from a testing device to a device including a display which downloads test protocols to the testing device. The testing device can thereafter operate in a stand-alone manner and transfer the results of testing and analysis to a device including a display that may comprise virtually any wireless communication device by storing an application or information therein. The communication device can transfer captured test data and analysis to a central facility for storage, further analysis and/or management purposes.

Abstract: A method tests hard disk ports located on a motherboard of a computing device. Each of the hard disk ports connects to a respective serial port of a test fixture. The test fixture includes a group of serial ports, a multiplexer and a storage device. Each of the hard disk ports is selected to be tested during the process of hard disk ports test. A data transmission path is formed by building a connection between the storage device and a channel of the multiplexer corresponding to the hard disk port. Data are written to the storage device and read from the storage device through the data transmission path. The hard disk port is working normal if the written data are identical to the read data. The hard disk port is not working normally if the written data are not identical to the read data.

Abstract: A technique for collecting and correlating locking data collects and correlates information on a plurality of programs waiting on or holding a plurality of resources in a multi-computer database system. The technique identifies a program executing on one computer of the multi-computer database system that is waiting on a resource. The technique also identifies a second program, executing on another computer, as the ultimate holder of the resource. An operator display screen displays information corresponding to the first program and the second program. The operator display screen may be switched between a multiline display format and a single line display format. The collection, identification, and display of the locking data is performed periodically, to allow the operator to discover locking problems and take a desired corrective action.

Abstract: A system and method is provided for storing hierarchical inputs for a field device in a control system, including upper level inputs in the form of data relating to the process under control, received from a plurality of input devices, and lower level inputs generated by the field devices using the upper level inputs. A record of dependencies among the hierarchical inputs is maintained, along with the status of each of the hierarchical inputs, which is transformed into a graphical status tree representation thereof, including the dependencies shown as one or more hierarchical flow paths. The status of the hierarchical inputs in the graphical status tree is identified by applying a visual marker to inputs having a normal status, and applying other visual markers to inputs having an error status to highlight erroneous flow paths.

Abstract: A user interface displays multiple steps in sequential relationship to each other, and may group various steps together and provide completion indicators for each step as well as an overall completion indicator. Error conditions, status information, queries, and details about a particular step or group of steps may be displayed inline with the steps in a task detail portion of the user interface. The task detail portion may be collapsible and expandable by the user. Progress and completion indicators may be updated for each step, groups of steps, and the overall sequence. In a typical use, a software installation sequence may comprise installation steps from multiple software components. The user interface may illustrate the status of individual tasks, groups of task, and the overall sequence as the tasks are performed, and enable errors to be resolved by displaying queries and other information inline with the steps.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus and a job management method thereof are provided. The job management method includes detecting an occurrence of an error during a processing of a job, and upon detecting the occurrence of the error, providing information about one or more jobs related with the error from among a list of jobs. As a result, it is possible to manage the jobs related with an error and more convenient job management is provided.
