Abstract: A method of performance testing for software applications can include storing, in a network accessible location, options corresponding to functions for use in performance test cases and sending to a computer system an electronic document specifying at least one of the plurality of options. The computer system can be remotely located from the network accessible location. The method further can include receiving, from the computer system, input selecting at least one option from the electronic document and automatically generating a performance test case using functions corresponding to the selected option(s). The options can be selected through a Web-based shopping cart and/or system interface thereby easing the process of test case generation.

Abstract: An apparatus to collect information about network failure includes: a normal mode packet assembly unit to assemble a transmission packet from transmission data output from an application in a normal mode being a procedure used when a transmission process is performed by specified communication protocol; a special mode packet assembly unit to assemble the transmission packet from the transmission data in a special mode being a procedure in which a procedure for collecting failure information is embedded into the procedure used when a transmission process is performed by the specified communication protocol; a switching control unit to activate the normal mode packet assembly unit or the special mode packet assembly unit selectively; and a response analysis unit to collect failure information according to a behavior of the response to the transmission packet transmitted from the special mode packet assembly unit.
Abstract: Migrating virtual machines among networked servers, the servers coupled for data communications with a data communications network that includes a networking device, where migrating includes: establishing, by a virtual machine management module (‘VMMM’), one or more virtual machines on a particular server; querying, by the VMMM, the networking device for link statistics of a link coupling the network device to the particular server for data communications; determining, by the VMMM in dependence upon the link statistics, whether the link coupling the network device to the particular server is degrading; and if the link coupling the network device to the particular server is degrading, migrating a virtual machine executing on the particular server to a destination server. In some embodiments, migrating occurs is carried out only if non-degrading link is available. If no non-degrading links are available, the network device, rather than the link, may be failing.

Abstract: A server apparatus, a mobile terminal, an electric appliance, a communication system, a communication method and a program for notifying a mobile terminal user in the open of the cause of a failure of P2P connection. In a communication system, an electric appliance (101), a server apparatus (103) and a mobile terminal (105) each detect a failure in preparation for P2P connection between the electric appliance (101) and the mobile terminal (105). When the electric appliance (101) detects the failure, it notifies the mobile terminal (105) of the failure via the server apparatus (103). When the server apparatus (103) detects the failure, it notifies the mobile terminal (105) of the failure. The mobile terminal (105) notifies the user of the failure detected by the mobile terminal itself or of the failure notified of by the server apparatus (103).
Abstract: An electronic device includes a display unit, a communication unit communicating with one or more external electronic devices, and a controller controlling a display unit to display information about the one or more external electronic devices in a first region, corresponding to a first side of a plurality of sides of the display unit, and displaying detailed information related to an image, displayed in a middle region of the display unit, in a second region corresponding to a second side different from the first side from among the plurality of sides.

Abstract: A scenario creating apparatus which creates a scenario for verifying operation of an information processing system in which a plurality of servers including a database server are connected, includes a collector that collects messages transmitted and received between the plurality of servers, when operation of the information processing system is being verified by a terminal apparatus that performs verification of operation; an association unit that associates the collected messages with each other; a sorter that sorts work models in ascending order of time at which access is made to the database server, the work models each being a group of the associated messages; and a scenario creating unit that creates the scenario on the basis of the sorted work models.
Abstract: Server outage data is automatically created and managed. Outage data is automatically retrieved from one or more servers at which an outage is detected by an agent installed on the server. The agent may search for outage event data and transmit the data to a monitoring application. The monitoring application receives the event data and creates an outage record from the data. Server contents, such as the number of users having account data on the server, can be determined either before or after the outage has occurred. Once the outage data and server contents are known, the cost and impact of the outage for each particular server can be determined. The cost of a server outage may be determined based on the outage record and the server data identifying resources of the server, such as user account data.
Abstract: Network survivability is quantified in such a way that failure cases can be compared and ranked against each other in terms of the severity of their impact on the various performance measures associated with the network. The degradation in network performance caused by each failure is quantified based on user-defined sets of thresholds of degradation severity for each performance measure. Each failure is simulated using a model of the network, and a degradation vector is determined for each simulated failure. A comparison function is defined to map the degradation vectors into an ordered set, and this ordered set is used to create an ordered list of network failures, in order of the network degradation caused by each failure.
