The apparatus includes an image acquiring portion that acquires document images, and integration pattern determining portion that makes settings relating to the integration and an integrated document image generating portion that generates the integrated document images corresponding to the integration pattern. The apparatus includes a print portion that prints the integrated document images.

Abstract: A method of entering page layout constraints into a computer. The method comprises providing a container for representing a page layout. The method further comprises providing a set of graphical objects, each having a set of object gridlines for delimiting important graphical features. Each of the set of object gridlines has a span. The method further comprises selecting and placing the set of graphical objects one by one within the container. Each of the selected graphical objects are positioned by snapping the position of the span to a non-empty gridline or by adding a new gridline. The method further comprises determining at least one pair of colliding gridlines. Colliding gridlines have a parallel direction and at least one pair of spans which at least partially overlap in the parallel direction. The method further comprises inserting page layout constraints between the at least one pair of colliding gridlines.

Abstract: Technologies are described herein for recording user-driven events within a computing system. An interface is established between a recorder application and an input method editor (“IME”) executing on the computer system. Through the use of the interface, the recorder application can obtain and record data identifying user-driven events that are performed within the IME. An interface is also established between the recorder application and a UI control that does not expose data regarding user-driven events through standard system calls. Through the use of the interface, the recorder application can obtain and record data identifying user-driven events detected at the UI control. The recorder application can also provide data identifying the recorded user-driven events directly to a bug tracking application program for inclusion in a bug database.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for presenting image data to include a graphic element. In one embodiment a method includes acquiring image data from a display buffer of a device, analyzing the image data to identify active and passive regions of the image data and ranking passive regions to determine a confidence measure for each passive region. The method may further include modifying the image data for display on the device to include a graphic element, wherein the graphic element is presented in a passive region based on the ranking.

Abstract: Information is camouflaged to permit discreet access of the information at times when it is otherwise inappropriate to access the information. Information is camouflaged for computer device display by analyzing visual characteristics of baseline information designated to be displayed on a portion of an electronic display and causing the electronic display to display replacement information within a region of the electronic display in place of information or content that would normally be displayed within the region. The replacement information visually conforms to the visual characteristics so as to be camouflaged within other information displayed outside the region. An input/output interface may be at least intermittently displayed within a section of the region to permit a user to interact with a data stream providing the replacement information. When the input/output interface is displayed, it may also be camouflaged to conform to the visual characteristics of the baseline information.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for the production of accented presentations using pre-defined templates and material, which presentations may be in a printed or scrap-booked format. A server system may be made available to clients over a network, that server providing templates, patterns and associated material, the server providing a client with executable instructions enabling a user to make selections to a final accented presentation. The server system may receive an order including an identification of a template and user selections, and may include an interpretive and production system that fabricates a final accented presentation, or a part of fabrication and/or assembly thereof. Detailed information on various example embodiments of the inventions are provided in the Detailed Description below, and the inventions are defined by the appended claims.

Enabling the functionality to assess the information, thereby re-configuring a digital printer's imager and caching module dynamically during the job RIP to achieve improved overall RIP performance. Accordingly, a system collects and assesses job statistics across multiple jobs to enable optimum performance over time.

Abstract: A comic creation apparatus includes a frame candidate setting unit configured to set, as frame candidates, candidates of a frame to be arranged adjacent to a frame arranged on a page of a comic, a frame candidate display unit configured to display the set frame candidates in a desired location on the page, and a frame determination unit configured to arrange a frame candidate selected from among the frame candidates displayed on the page in the desired location on the page as a frame.

Abstract: For each of multiple user inputs, multiple keys of a keyboard that are touched as part of the user input are identified. Additionally, for each of the multiple user inputs, multiple characters that are to be displayed concurrently are determined based on the multiple keys that are touched as part of the user input. Both a character input field and the multiple characters determined for each of the multiple user inputs are displayed. One or more suggested inputs can also be displayed, and a user-selected one of the suggested inputs identified as an input to the character input field.

Abstract: A computer system and method for processing a digital image into reflow content is presented. A computer system includes a processor and a memory. The computer system is configured to process a digital image by first obtaining the digital image, wherein the digital image includes at least some content suitable for conversion into reflow content. The computer system identifies any headers or footers that exist within the digital image. The computer system then processes the digital image into reflow content, excluding any content within an identified header or footer. Headers and/or footers are identified according to one or more aspects indicative of a header/footer, such as separating white space, a separator line, sequences indicative of page numbering, and the like.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for comic creation. A digital sketching system may provide various tools for creating and modifying comics consisting of one or more panels, and for creating, adding, and modifying text in the panels. This system, which may be referred to as a comic creation application, may be implemented according to a domain-specific digital sketchbook paradigm that is directed specifically to the needs of a comic artist. The comic creation application may be tailored for comics planning, may be designed with the structure of comic pages in mind, and may provide high-level editing tools and operations for this structure. The system may make a digital device (e.g., a touch- or multitouch-enabled device) an intelligent participant in the creative process, rather than a passive sketchbook, to facilitate story building in ways that pencil and paper cannot.

For each second content area, second content area properties, second content item properties and content rules are automatically identified. For each first content item, it may be determined whether a first content item corresponds to a second content area based on the rules. The first content item may be automatically assigned to the second content area. A representation of each assigned content item may be printed.

Abstract: Content can be flowed through one or more containers that can be laid out analogously to printed material. Content is flowed into the first specified container until that container is “full” of content. Subsequent content is then flowed through subsequent containers, each of which is individually identified, and whose ordering is specified independently of their position and visual presentation. Multiple independent sources of content can be flowed through multiple independent collections of containers. Each container can format the content presented within it independently from other containers, and each container can comprise script, or other programmatic constructs, which can operate on, and modify, the content flowed into such a container. To provide for the rich layouts, content containers can be nested inside one another such that multiple layers, or levels, of the layout can be edited independently of one another.

The webpage on which the advertising content is displayed may have a plurality of graphical, textual and audio/visual components. The advertising content is displayed around a first area of the webpage, for example, around a video player, such that it hides the original content of the webpage around the first area (e.g. hides the original content of the webpage around the video player). The transparency of the advertising content is increased over a defined time interval so that over the time interval, the underlying original content of the webpage around the first area (e.g. around the video player) becomes increasingly visible. At the end of the time interval, the advertising content disappears entirely. No user input is required to trigger the fade out of the advertising content. The fade out occurs automatically.

Abstract: An image map designer creates an image map for use with an image. The image map contains one or more hotspots, each of which specifies a set of pixels which may be non-contiguous and non-polygonal. The image map designer may create the image map using image processing software that facilitates creation of non-contiguous and non-polygonal image maps. Multiple versions of the image map may be created, each for use with a different magnification of the image. The image maps are stored in a compact format, which may be transmitted efficiently from a server to a client. Data contained within the image map facilitates the process of determining whether the client user's mouse pointer is within any of the hotspots, and the process of applying the image map to the image when rendered at different magnifications.

In one embodiment, the physical structure (e.g. titles and chapters) of a DVD is ascertained and a playlist structure shell that represents the DVD's physical structure is built. Metadata associated with the DVD is acquired and used to populate the playlist structure shell. In some embodiments, the metadata can be acquired from a metadata source external to the DVD and/or remote from a computing device on which the DVD is being played. Remote locations can include, without limitation, those that are network- or Internet-accessible. Once the playlist structure shell is populated, it can be used to render a playlist associated with the DVD's video in an area of a user interface display.

Abstract: For a page that has been decomposed into a set of primitive areas, a novel method for organizing the set of primitive areas into an ordered list is disclosed. The primitive areas in the ordered list are initially sorted using start point order relation ordering, which compares the start points of the primitive areas in the coordinate system of the page. The ordering of the primitive areas in the ordered list are then refined by using contextual order relation ordering, which compares primitive areas against each other according to coordinate systems local to the primitive areas being compared.
