Abstract: Systems and methods for managing an inline conversation area within a document are provided. In example embodiments, a collaboration system causes presentation of a user interface displaying a document that is being collaboratively edited by a plurality of users. The collaboration system receives an indication to present an inline conversation area within the document. In response, the inline conversation area is displayed within the document on the user interface, whereby the inline conversation area is visually distinguished from content of the document. The collaboration system receives, via the inline conversation area, input from the plurality of users. The input comprises comments being exchanged between the plurality of users and draft content. The inputs are displayed in the inline conversation area within the document on the user interface.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method in a document editing module is provided. The document editing module comprises a processor configured by programming instructions encoded in non-transient computer readable media. The method comprises providing, by the processor, contents of a document to a user interface; providing via the user interface, by the processor, an object that when selected indicates a desire to lock the document from editing by another document editing module or another instance of the document editing module for a fixed time period; and modifying, by the processor, one or more attributes of the document that indicate that the document is locked for editing and a fixed length of time the document is locked for editing when the object has been selected.

Abstract: A system incorporates an Internet service storing descriptions, locations and circumstances for virtual objects, creating a virtual world mirroring the real world, with each virtual object associated with a unique code enabling quick search and identification of the virtual objects. The system in some implementations allows search and data mining as well as associating virtual objects with the user that creates the virtual object.

Abstract: A region division portion extracts an “object”, an “anchor expression accompanying the object” and a “text including the anchor expression” from image data based on a paper document and an electronic document. A link processing portion generates link information that associates, in two ways, the “object”, the “anchor expression included in the text” or the “text including the anchor expression” with each other. Then, a format conversion portion converts the link information into electronic document data including two-way link information. When this electronic document data is displayed by an application and one of the “object” and the “anchor expression included in the text” is selected, the other can be displayed according to the link information.

Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for minimizing a rule set. A rule set application graph that describes a set of rules including actions and cases is built, whereby each rule defines an action for one or more cases. A rule violation graph for each rule describing the actions and cases not defined for that rule is built. A subset of rules having a reduced number of rules with the same set of actions and cases as the rule set application graph is determined by exploring candidate subsets of the rule set that are sufficient for reproducing the behavior of the original rule set.

Abstract: A system, method and program product for receiving feedback about a document from one or more reviewers includes a step of a computer receives feedback about a document, responsive to input from the one or more reviewers into a user interface. The computer stores the feedback about the document. The computer transmits a notification to an owner of the document that the feedback has been received and stored. Responsive to receiving a request from the owner, the computer opens the document and displays the document with the feedback received. Responsive to input from the owner, the computer changes the document and saves a new version of the document.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media for automatically and securely citing and transferring electronically formatted information and for maintaining association between the cited or transferred information and back-end information are disclosed. According to one method, a selection of media content copied from an electronic source is received. The selection of media content is inserted into an electronic destination. Citation information is automatically determined for the selection of media content by parsing a data structure provided by an author or publisher of the media content. The citation information is automatically inserted into the electronic destination. The inserted selection of media content and the citation are made uneditable.

Abstract: An operator interface terminal receives individual data points from a machine at individual time points. The operator interface terminal correlates the individual data points to the individual time points as the data points are received. The operator interface terminal transfers the data points correlated to the time points to a central information system. The operator interface terminal receives a control instruction from an operator. The operator interface terminal processes the control instruction to transfer a control signal to the machine, wherein the control signal drives the machine to operate based on the control instruction.

Abstract: A method and a system of adaptation of a website to a mobile web browser. The method includes creating a snapshot version of a presentation layer of a website. The method also includes applying a design layer above the snapshot version and indicating an element of the snapshot version using the design layer. Furthermore, the method includes associating an identifying attribute of the element with a template used to create another website and creating a rule that associates a location of the identifying attribute in the snapshot version with another location in the template.

Abstract: Inline review tracking in documents is described, including receiving an input to a document displayed in a browser, generating a comment and an option, the comment being configured to describe the input and the option being configured to perform one or more actions associated with the input, marking the document with a tag based on the input, storing the input using another tag in a comment section of the document; and presenting the document, the comment, and the option, wherein the document is displayed in a first frame, and the comment and the option are displayed in a second frame.

Abstract: An approach to handling dynamic information selection based on associated is presented. A user configures a plurality of endnotes in order to assign one of the endnotes to a recipient address. Each endnote may include signature text (e.g., name, phone number, etc.), as well as images, web page links, and/or animation, which add to the aesthetics and personalization of a constructed email message. When a user creates an email message that includes one or more email recipient addresses, an endnote manager analyzes each email recipient address and automatically selects one of the configured endnotes based on the email recipient's assigned endnote category. In addition, a user may configure the endnote manager to select an endnote to include in an email messages based upon the time at which the email is created.

In use, strings of symbols are identified in a plurality of sequential lines of an object. Further, the object is conditionally identified as being at least potentially unwanted, based on the strings of symbols.

Abstract: An audit tool (AT) operates in cooperation with an audit tool manager (ATM), a policy file (PF) and a query file (QF) in order to provide a real time display of usage within an on-demand service system. The ATM identifies the data to be gathered. Using the ATM, the user identifies comparison points, maps the comparison points to audit controls, defines policies and develops SQL queries to report transactions and record quantities. The AT gathers data, displays the gathered data, and compares the data points, and alerts the user to a discrepancy. The AT displays the compared data points side by side so that real time visual verification can be made, and the AT also alerts the user to discrepancies.

Abstract: A citation system parses, error checks, corrects, and transforms citations between citation systems. The system may determine the available citation systems, such as The Bluebook, The Chicago Manual of Style, or other citation systems available for selection. The system also determines a selected citation system from among the multiple citation systems. For example, the system may determine that a writer has selected The Bluebook citation system from among those available to the system. The system also determines an applicable rule set for the selected citation system, and applies to rule set to an input citation to obtain an output citation component.

Abstract: A computer system and method for processing a digital image into reflow content is presented. A computer system includes a processor and a memory. The computer system is configured to process a digital image by first obtaining the digital image, wherein the digital image includes at least some content suitable for conversion into reflow content. The computer system identifies any headers or footers that exist within the digital image. The computer system then processes the digital image into reflow content, excluding any content within an identified header or footer. Headers and/or footers are identified according to one or more aspects indicative of a header/footer, such as separating white space, a separator line, sequences indicative of page numbering, and the like.

Abstract: A method and computer-readable medium are provided for laying out footnotes. Each footnote includes a footnote reference and corresponding footnote text. According to the method, an attempt is first made to lay out one or more footnotes such that each of the references and the corresponding text all fit completely within one page. If such a layout cannot be made, an attempt is may to lay out each of the footnotes such that all of the reference marks fit on the page and all but one of the corresponding note text fits completely on the page. If such a layout cannot be made, an emergency layout may be generated.

Abstract: A user-friendly technique is described for assisting users to compose original documents, such as essays, research papers, literary papers, historical papers, memoranda, and the like. Interactive software provides document-specific active assistance with creating, researching, writing, editing, and finalizing documents. Such assistance may take the form of providing document specific guides, automatically generating and inserting content, and/or checking for document specific errors.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for providing within edited shell documents contextual information associated with a referenced object. The methods and systems may receive a request from an author to insert a reference to a fragment object into a shell document reflecting content to be displayed and generate response data including a reference to the fragment object and a first property reflecting contextual information associated with the fragment object. The shell document may be modified by inserting the response data into the shell document. The methods and system may also render the modified shell document including the response data such that the response data conveys a user-ascertainable characteristic of the fragment object based on the first property.

Abstract: A possible portion providing method involving receiving a pattern provided using a movable member, the pattern corresponding to a traveling path of the movable member, and the provided pattern corresponding to a portion of an intended sequence, determining at least one possible sequence which includes the received pattern, and displaying a remaining portion of the at least one possible sequence using a predefined font set for a plurality of components, the predefined font set including a record of a pattern corresponding to the traveling path of the movable member or another movable member for each of the plurality of components.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for implementing automatic reapportionment of graphical screen subwindows based upon sensed, dynamic changes. Predefined dynamic change information is monitored for selected subwindows. The monitored predefined dynamic change information is compared with user selected configuration values to determine a reapportionment for the selected subwindows.

Abstract: A citation system parses, error checks, corrects, and transforms citations between citation systems. The system may determine the available citation systems, such as The Bluebook, The Chicago Manual of Style, or other citation systems available for selection. The system also determines a selected citation system from among the multiple citation systems. For example, the system may determine that a writer has selected The Bluebook citation system from among those available to the system. The system also determines an applicable rule set for the selected citation system, and applies to rule set to an input citation to obtain an output citation component.
