Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs stored on computer-readable media, for providing contextually-relevant database content. Techniques are described for monitoring conditions of a computing device and detecting when database content is relevant to a current context of the computing device. In some implementations, a first computing device is monitored to detect actions of the first computing device that involve calendar data for a user. In response, a determination that text corresponding to the calendar appointment includes a term associated with a particular entity is made. Data for a user information card including information related to the particular entity is obtained. The first computing device is then caused to display the user information card or an interactive control configured to initiate display of the user information card.

Abstract: A method for changing an itinerary based on a user change request is disclosed. The method may commence with receiving an itinerary request associated with one or more passengers. The method may continue with receiving a user itinerary change request associated with the itinerary network. The method may continue with generating an itinerary object associated with the user itinerary change request. The method may continue with modifying the itinerary network based on the itinerary object. The method may continue with processing the itinerary network using a topology of the itinerary network to create a plurality of tuples, the plurality of tuples including at least flight tuples and hotel tuples. The method may continue with performing a content search for the plurality of tuples for each of the one or more passengers. The method may continue with generating feasible itinerary solutions based on results of the content searches.

Abstract: Information handling systems (IHS) and methods are provided to automatically synchronize operating system (OS) and boot firmware languages. In one embodiment, a method may detect a change in an active OS language from a first language pack to a second language pack, notify the boot firmware that the active OS language was changed, and provide an identity of the second language pack to the boot firmware during OS runtime. When the IHS is subsequently rebooted, the active boot firmware language may be synchronized to the active OS language. In another embodiment, the method may detect a change in an active boot firmware language from a first language pack to a second language pack, notify the OS that the active boot firmware language was changed, and provide an identity of the second language pack to the OS during a pre-boot phase. When the OS is subsequently booted, the active OS language may be synchronized to the active boot firmware language.

Abstract: A method for translating user requests into itinerary solutions is disclosed. The method may commence with receiving an itinerary request associated with one or more passengers. The method may continue with parsing the itinerary request to create an itinerary network associated with the itinerary request. Abstract: According to a computer-implemented method, an output is received resulting from natural language processing of unstructured text. In the output different phrases of the unstructured text are categorized into classes. A different visual distinction is generated for at least one class. A generated visual distinction is applied to phrases in the unstructured text based on their respective class. The unstructured text is displayed such that phrases in the unstructured text that correspond to the at least one class appear with the corresponding visual distinction indicative of that class.

Using these systems and methods enable a user to see a personalized prediction score of how much the system predicts that a particular user would like a particular dish.

Abstract: A method provides for language selection on a shared local user interface, such as an interface for operating a printer that is used by multiple users having a variety of first languages. The method includes providing at least one mechanism on a shared local user interface for selection of one of an original set of languages for text to be displayed on the local user interface. One mechanism may include displaying text in each of the languages contemporaneously or sequentially. At a plurality of times, a respective user's selection of one of the original set of languages is received. Based on a plurality of user selections, a modified set of languages can be learned which is then used in place of the original set of languages when providing the at least one language selection mechanism at a subsequent time.

The lexica can be downloaded to the apparatus from the Internet or transferred from any other device that the apparatus is connected to and the lexica that are stored on the apparatus can be edited by a user.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method monitors input by a user using an application and detects a first input for a date in the application. A list of candidates is generated for the first input, the list of candidates listing the date in different formats that are possible based on the date. The method uses a space function to retrieve context for the first input, the context selected from information proximate to the first input within a threshold. Also, the method uses a time function to retrieve a history of selections, the history of selections being selected from one or more prior lists of candidates from prior inputs. The list of candidates is ranked based on a ranking function that uses the context and the history of selections to rank the list of candidates. A portion of the ranked list is output on the application for selection by the user.

Abstract: The disclosure provides methods and systems for localizing a user interface of a multi-function device, the multi-function device is configured with a default language. The method includes receiving a pre-defined phrase from a user via the user interface of the multi-function device, the phrase is written in a local language of the user. Based on the received phrase, the phrase is analyzed to identify the local language of the user using one or more hand-written recognition techniques. Then, the local language is retrieved for presenting to the user. A language change option is presented to the user based on the identified local language of the user. Thereafter, the user interface is localized by changing the default language of the user interface to the local language. Finally, one or more options are presented to the user in the local language of the user.

A physical or virtual client machine can host a set of installed software packages, including operating system, application, and/or other software. A package manager tracks the set of installed packages and language resources available for the installed set. The package manager can host or access a set of package attributes which include language specifications which indicates a language that should be used for search, display, and/or other activities. The language specifications be used to link to remote a remote repository storing various language metadata, including translations of source text. The resulting translated descriptions of source text from applications or other objects can be received and locally stored as translation information on the client machine. Translations can be periodically generated and/or updated.

Abstract: The techniques disclosed herein enable a user of a host computer or a user of a remote computer to locate, view, control, and modify objects of a virtual environment. Embodiments disclosed herein can include the generation of a graphical user interface providing a two-dimensional display showing objects at a predetermined elevation of a three-dimensional virtual environment. User interface controls are provided for changing the elevation of the two-dimensional display. The two-dimensional display can be updated to show different elevations as the controls are used to select a new elevation. In some embodiments, the two-dimensional display enables users to move objects of a virtual reality environment. The display can bring highlight to select objects enabling users to readily locate desired objects and locations. The features disclosed herein can be utilized by a computer hosting a virtual reality session or a remote computer operating a companion application.

The disclosure creates a mapping between the frontend and backend application of at least one non-default language descriptor string onto a language tag of the backend application. The use of non-default language descriptor strings clarifies to the user otherwise ambiguous language identifiers.

The predefined feedback comments selected by the users are associated with the users whom the comment is about, and at some time thereafter, the predefined feedback comment is displayed for viewing by other users of the system.

The mechanisms map the new locale name to existing locale name data structures associated with the existing locale name to be replaced and verify proper operation of a software element using the new locale name and the mapping of the new locale name to the existing locale name data structures. The mechanisms utilize the new locale name to perform locale name customized operations in response to verifying proper operation of the software element.

The interpretation is specific to the culture of the recipient. Presenting the gesture and the notes increases the knowledge of the sender about the culture of the recipient. The selected translation and the gesture are presented to the recipient.
